How could the audiance stay seated through this. I saw a few standing but the majority remained seated until the end when they gave him a standing ovation which he clearly deserved. But, don't people realize it is tradition to stand through the entire playing of this most majestic piece of music? No matter there will never be another Anthony Burger. He is sorely missed
A good and godly man with a tremendous talent. He would be first to say that what is important is not his talent and performance but the truth of the message of the song! That is where our focus should be kept. As for "standing," I suppose that people kept seated out of consideration for those shorter people who might be denied the visual experience which all were entitled to see, as well as to hear. I understand (if correctly) that Anthony went "home" while playing "We Shall Behold Him"...
When I hear Anthony play I feel like I am already in heaven. So looking forward to hearing him play when my time on earth is up. The Lord surely blessed him with a good talent.
I was get teary eyed when he is wrapping up the song, pounding those keys, the crowd getting revved up. What a loss for this earth, but an incredible new keyboardist for the heavenly chorus :)
@@sydney1458 I was there at the Sydney Opera House in 2003 to witness this song! Stunning! The whole concert was pure magic and Russ Taff was extraordinary!
All Glory, Praise, Honor and Thanks be to our Almighty God, Father, Son Jesus Christ and The Holy Spirit, forever into eternity... Simply awesome God-given gifts and talents for God's Glory ultimately, and also our good / deep joy together in The Lord For His Salvation offer to humanity ☝👆🙏
I listen to this often. As Anthony is at the peak of his performance, I can feel the spirit of the Lord. I know this was (if we count rehearsing) very hard work. I play and when we play like this, it is hard work. Anthony went to Heaven playing "we shall behold Him".
Nobody that I know and I mean nobody played with such joy and love for the Lord as Anthony Burger did. I believe he is playing in Heaven now. Miss you Anthony!!!!
Best Halleluiah Chorus rendition ever! I keep on listening to this till now. I thank the Lord for him. R.I.P. Anthony. Wish you'd still be at the homecomings.
Does people not know they are supposed to stand when this music is being played? I saw a few stand but not many at all. This is absolutely beautiful and what a fabulous job Anthony Burger does.
What an Awesome rendition of this Magnificent piece of music. Written by the great composer Handle and played by another great man: Anthony Burger. Can't just listen one time it grabs our attention so that one time won't do!!!
While I didn't know that you're suppose to stand when this song is played, it makes sense. It's tradition to stand during the a king's ordination and if you pay attention to the words, you'll understand that that's exactly what's happening. So if we would stand of a human king's ordination, they we should most definitely stand for the King of king's ordination.
I'm surprised how many people don't realize you're supposed to stand for this song. Sang it every year at our HS Christmas concert. Out of respect, you stand.
I am watching him on TV at this time, so sad to see the post that he died, I searched it and it is true, so sad, I have never seen anyone play a piano with so much life as he does. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!
Handel was, above all, a musician and composer of HIS TIME. To the contrary, I believe he would be OVER THE MOON with the glory to God commanded by Anthony Burger in this stunning arrangement. I love the original interpretation of the work too, but this is shouting from the rafters that OUR GOD IS GREAT AND WORTHY TO BE PRAISED FROM THE MOUNTAIN TOPS!
Only one piano player playing live, but this performance is clearly using some pre-recorded backing tracks. You hear a “50 person choir” while there is no choir on stage. It basically sounds like Anthony was playing along with pre-recorded piano parts, keyboard parts and choir. Many rock bands have done this over the years to enhance their on-stage sound.
too bad that those folks remain seated for the almighty God praises by Handel (while only the cultivated listeners in the hall followed King George II´s custom of standing for the "Hallelujah" chorus), but stand up for a human clown (that plays quite well, but still is no more than a human clown)... Really sad!
sylvain romain Those who didn't stand most likely didn't know that they should have been standing and some others probably had difficulty standing that long due to bodily pain or some other physical problem. We shouldn't judge people or call them clowns especially when we do not know them personally or know what they are really like. Do not judge or you will be judged. I've met this wonderful Christian man who touched many people in a very special way and he was far from a clown. Do you know how God has used him and do you know his life story?
Best pianist ever. Oh what a joy it will be when I get to heaven.
Absolutely the best. Thank you God for modern technology so I can still watch the best ever.
Thank you Lord for giving this man such a talent.
Am I the only one who teared up? That sounded like it came strait from heaven
I cry every time he plays anything. I've Just Seen Jesus, another favorite.
I tear up at such beautiful talent Anthony had.
IT DID come straight out of his heavenly heart from heaven!
One of the greatest southern gospel pianist ever to live!!!

Listening in....2022! Loved the Hallelujah
I always tear up when Anthony plays the Hallelujah chorus. Just think what he sounds like in Heaven. Also, I always stand up during the rendition.
The best music played by the best. Thank you God for this man and the memories. I can’t wait to meet him.
Best pianist ever. Oh what a joy it will be when I get to heaven
Second to none. Absolutely a magnificent performance indeed.🇨🇦
Son, God didn’t give everyone the gift he gave this pianist.
When he bowed his head so forcefully, I thought he was gonna pass out!
Wonderful. The Message lives on. Miss Anthony Burger, will see one day

Hallelujah to the Kings of Kings
What a blessed and glorious rendition
When I hear Anthony play I feel like I am already in heaven. So looking forward to hearing him play when my time on earth is up. The Lord surely blessed him with a good talent.
The best ever in gospel music. Still love to watch him.
The best rendition ever
I still cry when he plays. He's been gone 17 years in February. Still miss him. What a loss at 44. From Greer SC
I was get teary eyed when he is wrapping up the song, pounding those keys, the crowd getting revved up. What a loss for this earth, but an incredible new keyboardist for the heavenly chorus :)
Amen!

Anthony Burger is my favorite pianist. I just love the talent God gave him.
All I can say is I am revived once again and it reinforces that my faith can only be anchored in God Jehova Yaweh

Anthony was a amazing pianist! Such a loss. He playing for the Lord now!
Such a beautiful piece of music played by the best there is. Now in heaven with Jesus.
The Holy Spirit take control of the piano. It's amazing to see God gifted children. Awesome.🎹🎤🎹🎹
In case you do not know, this was at the Sydney Opera House in New South Wales, Australia in 2003. It was so moving!
Such an inspiration, if you haven’t heard his story he should have never been able to use his hands!!!!!
Nobody that I know and I mean nobody played with such joy and love for the Lord as Anthony Burger did. I believe he is playing in Heaven now. Miss you Anthony!!!!

May be Heaven needed him
Tradition of standing started when the king that it was being played stood and the his subjects had to stand because he was standing.
.
AMAZING
RIP Billy Graham
O lucrare muzicală de mare valoare care a fost cântată MINUNAT!!! Dumnezeu să îl binecuvânteze.

Qué no se note que fue un playback.... Do not notice that it was a playback. 😕
I am watching him on TV at this time, so sad to see the post that he died, I searched it and it is true, so sad, I have never seen anyone play a piano with so much life as he does. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!
Extraordinaire interprétation, dommage que le réalisateur ne se soit pas fixé sur le jeu de Anthony !
The hand of antony are not natural
🎹👍🏼
Excellent pianist and sad to see that he's no longer with us, but Handel would be spinning in his grave if he heard this version.

Check out this version. The backing tracks are identical:
