I'm a Man was the encore when we saw them play at Gov. Livingston Reg. HS, in Berkeley Heights, NJ, either 1970 or 1971 and of course they blew us away.
One of the first albums I bought was a sampler album called "Fill Your Head With Rock"(1970). I was introduced to so many bands and musicians. Chicago's "Listen" was one of them. In fact it was the first track.
I am thoroughly enjoying the choices you have made with your reactions! They are almost all ones that if I had not lived during the 70'(as I did) these are all the selections I would have chosen to listen to, almost a "best of" the highlights of the bands' best works...keep it going, bro
By far Chicago's is my favorite rendition of this song because of the next level instrumental! I mean come on...Cowbell, wood blocks, tambs, tim toms, oh yeah it's funky asf!
There's a Russian cover band called Leonid & Friends that do covers of all the Chicago songs and a few other bands of the era. You can find their videos on TH-cam. They strive to perform the songs exactly as Chicago performed them on their albums. The term "cover band" does not really do them justice. Amazing assembly of musicians. Watch the "25 or 6 to 4" video and you'll see what I mean.
i don't get why certain reactors don't do a video when there's an option- there's an actual black and white one and a live one which is essential with a song with 3 people singing and all these instruments
Chicago at their finest! RIP Terry Kath
This is how you let music "breath" as it becomes magic.
well said!

This blows away Spencer Davis. Aint even close
This is the GOOD Chi Town, before Terry’s death! RIP! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
You should hear him live - Tanglewood. it's amazing. 25 or 6 to 4 is KILLER!

I forgot about this one and how much I loved it! Thanks!
Percussions....... WOW!!!
In the 60’s and 70’s Chicago was a rock band, in the 80’s they turned into a sappy ballad band.

Big thanks to the suggestions in the comments and patreon, as that's where almost all of these have come from 😁

I'm glad that you're listening to this fantastic number, I think this is one of their best numbers. Fantastic music! 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎶🎶🎶👍
Steve was 16 when he wrote this.
Terry Kath sings then Peter Citara then Robert Lamm.
No horns in this, so the horn section is all playing percussion instruments.

Tanglewood version
👍👍👍👍👍
The Tanglewood 1970 footage is awesome. (These's lots of Tanglewood summer 1970 that is great. I like The Who.)
