I love the look on heiji shindo's face when Fowler is telling him his backstory. He is just realizing the true depth of Fowler's brutality.

i don't pay close attention to the voice credits. had no idea ming na wen played lady kaji. the talent for this show is stacked! on top of the great art and writing.
If anyone ever asks you who else knows about something, say I told a dozen or so people and if I die you will never know who
The only kinda challenging detail is that Seki tells Akemi that he was the one who arranged the match to Takayoshi Itoh, a match her father Tokunobu is using to ascend to Shogun… that would mean 1) Seki lied about proposing the arrangement, maybe to make it more appealing to Akemi; 2) Seki was kept ignorant of her father’s plans to use the marriage to subplant the Itoh family; or 3) Seki was involved in all of it and really believed it was a good option to enable the coup
It is just a minor vagueness to a side character, but bugs me
I think we can piece together the truth from what the show tells us:
1. Seki would believe marrying the shogun's son IS the best match for Akemi, almost without any additional details.
2. The two advisors in league with Fowler state "The shogun does most things at our request." This certainly includes potential political matches.
3. The shogun's son would have a LOT of potential matches. Lots of men willing to sell daughters to get power in this version of Japan.
4. So Seki would have pushed the match to her father, who sends it to the shogun advisors, who then CHOSE HIM as their puppet, because he's seen as weak and unrefined. From the classism we can infer their thoughs: "The son of a pig farmer will do what we say"
