    The rev limit is lower as they are using normal valve springs instead of the Desmodromic valve system like on the SFV4 - this way they can increase the service intervals by a massive amount.
    Maybe a good choice for me for longer rides to the Alps.

    Thanks for sharing your first ride, Bill. What a great bike so far, and would love to hear all your feedback on how it compares to the 1260S once you’ve got the week behind you. Not that it matters as much to me as I have my V4S on order for April delivery. Excited to finally get on this bike & enjoy it’s all around performance and comfort.

    Great bike. Looking forward to my Full/Sport arriving. The typical owner won't rev it to 15k like my Streetfighter, so it doesn't need the high rev accuracy of Desmodromic valves. What they do need is longer major service intervals, to save money. This is why Ducati moved to traditional valve spring actuation with 36k major service intervals instead. You'll quickly get used to the steering, it's called a 19" front wheel. IMPO having ridden it, I don't feel it needs a steering damper, it's a very stable and well composed bike.

      Whats the difference from this bike to full sport?

    • @RichDunn
      @RichDunn 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CaliMotoTV Sure! BTW, I rang two Ducati service centers and asked them the torque setting for the swingarm pinch bolts. the first said 35 lbs.ft! And the second 15 lbs.ft. I'm inclined to believe the second which is consistent with the PDF you pinged me indicating 20Nm and 15 lbs.ft with a 1-2-1 tightening sequence. A bit lower than the 25 I think it was that you mention in your vid. Although seemingly low, I think 15 must be right, because they took very little effort to loosen for the first time. A bit like handlebar bolts, I'm always amazed how effortlessly they ratchet off!

      @@JUFFAIR101 Confusingly Ducati mixes their Sport and Full wording on their website. But essentially they seem to be the same thing. For your extra money ($2k), you get the r/w/b/g color scheme, a carbon fiber front mudguard, and an Akrapovic exhaust canister (road legal, 2lbs lighter).

    it's because of the super long timing belt service intervals :) nice video dude!

    I could tell it's deceptively fast. You were at 100 a few times. Unless your on klmph. Love all the content brother. Keep up the great work.

    Shame the single sided swingarm didn’t carry over. I think it definitely made the bike stand out and gave it a much sportier look. Bet you can get a great deal on a well specked 1260, spotted a brand new 1260gt for just over 15 k.

    Lower revs is because no Desmo - it uses traditional valve springs to get higher service intervals.

    Hoping for a pikes peak with 17” 3.5/6.0 combined vs the 17/19. Too Gs like. I won’t ride this off-road ever.

    Besides the tank range, this bike seems suited to touring. When doing the full review, can you spend some time on the saddlebags? Just wondering the weight, capacity and what the interior look like.

    How is the heat in traffic? All of those air guides in front of the engine may mean that they are trying to solve a heat/comfort issue.
    Thanks for the video!

      @@CaliMotoTV Thanks. I had a 2013 and I loved it. Having less maintenance would be great. I really want to know how the heat of the two generations compares.

    Waiting on the Pikes Peak. Hoping 17” wheels in real sport sizes are available. If they do it right, less off-road biased I’ll buy one in two years. It’s too Gs ish with the 17/19 now as she sits.
