I was actually rewatching all your Europe vlogs today so it's quite timely you uploaded this! I would love to go interrailing one day and you definitely make it seem like something I would enjoy alone, sometimes your own company is just what you need! :)
Hey! :) I was wondering if you could tell me (or even make a video showing) what you had in your backpack for both Taiwan and Interrail? What were the items you regretted not having with you and would you pack different things now? To be honest I watched all of your vlogs in the last two days and I find them really inspirational and I'm going on an Interrail trip this summer. Would be awesome to hear from you!! :D
Night trains are the worst, especially if you only reserve seats! Also anyone on a budget should just head to Eastern Europe and not even bother with an interail pass; Prague, Krakow, Budapest, Bratislava, Ljubljana, the Croatian coast etc and any Balkan countries, literally over half the price of traveling Western Europe and just as much to do/see.
you can use the interrail ticket in your home country the first and last day. At least in norway ;) Also, if you live in northern norway you get two 'free' days of travel with the train as it is so far away from the rest of europe.
Thank you for all the tips. I will be watching all of your other interrailing videos. I am starting my interrail trip on 1st september. I will probadly visit the following cities: Amsterdam - Berlin - Praque - Krakow - Bratislava - Wien - Zagreb - Rome - Florence - Geneve - Paris. What do you think? May I ask what video you use? Do you just use your Phone or a GoPro or something else? Thanks in advance and keep up the nice vids!
Sorry I have a few questions! Talking about reservations, when you just hopped on trains without reserving did you encounter any other difficulties apart from being told to get out of a reserved seat? Like your ticket was still valid and you were allowed on the train, even if it meant standing right? Also were airbnb's a lot more expensive than hostels? For your meals did you mainly eat out or cook in the hostels or just buy cooked food? How much clothing did you take and did you think that was the right amount or more or less? Thanks in advance for your help. :)
Hi! Sorry, I know you posted this 3 years ago but these videos are great! I'm booking my trip now and a lot of the route I'm planning to take I'm spending quite a long time on trains between countries/cities. Did it bother you being on transport for a long time or was it fine? Cheers! x
I'm going interrailing next summer and everyone says that you can't get out of your country with the pass, but actually on the Interrail website they say you can use it for two journeys within your country, like one for leaving and one for coming home. So I'm confused now, can you help me out?
It's so crazy, when I watched your interrail vlogs I was only dreaming about an interrail trip, but now I'm actually going to do it! I'm leaving in two months and will be travelling for three weeks with a friend :) I was just wondering what you did with your bags when you were sleaping? Did you leave them in the locker or what did you do?
Hi, just received my interrailing ticket in April there fro travelling in July. Did you have any problems filling the ticket out as I have read the instructions and it all seems rather daunting? Cheers.
Heading to Prague as part of my trip with two other guys. Can you give us places that you recommend as we have a pretty limited knowledge of the place? We have never been there before. Also going to Berlin and Amsterdam so tips for these places would be an added bonus. PS. Your interrailling vlogs were very good. Tempted to do it myself, any tips? Thanks very much.
how did you cope with the language barrier? I'm going interrailing this summer - so excited! - and I can speak french (doing it at A2) and I have a GCSE in German, but I'm so worried about going to places in eastern europe where I have no knowledge of the language! What did you do?
+Certified Mindblower It wasn't an issue AT ALL! I think that in the UK we're very lazy about learning a language but almost everybody I met when I was away spoke good enough English to communicate with me what was needed! It was crazy! xx
Hey! I'm heading interrailing in a few weeks and was just wondering what size your backpack was? Did it fit in overhead luggage or did you have to check it in? :)
+Cathal Phelan i had a 60l bag - which I checked in on every flight i got. I probably could have had it as hand luggage but i also had a bad with my laptop which i took instead :) x
same, they are actually the most expensive accommodation on my trip i wonder why there are so many youtubers telling you to save money by taking night trains
Is there a difference between booking a train and reserving a seat on the train? and do you always have to pay when booking a train? (just a little confused cos it seems to defeat the purpose of the interrail ticket if you're always paying extra) thanks for any advice! your videos are really helpful by the way :)
The only thing you pay for is a reservation for a seat, so only like €5. Otherwise you might be standing and that's just a nightmare if it's a long journey. I did chance it a couple of times and get on with no seat reservation, and luckily I always found a spare seat! x
+Harriet Murray I loved it- I went for 5 weeks with my friend we went to Berlin, Kraków, Prague, Vienna, Budapest, Slovenia, Croatia, Rome, Florence, Naples, Nice and Barcelona! It was amazing just to see so many different places, I'd say Kraków and Barcelona were my faves xxx

Aww how sweet! Yeah I think being alone does good for your soul! :P xx

Oh how strange! You definitely couldn't when I went; perhaps it's a new thing! If it says you can, then, well, that's fab!

Hi Harriet :) You said that you spent around £2800, if you were doing this trip again and waited to save money how would you have done it?
Night trains with a bed are much more expensive than I thought!
same, they are actually the most expensive accommodation on my trip i wonder why there are so many youtubers telling you to save money by taking night trains

What size was your backpack? I'm going interrailing in June for three weeks and have no idea what litre size to get!x
+Katie Baxter Ohhh i don't actually know! Not massive, i think 60l ? x
Did you book any of your tickets in advance online and if so how did you go about doing that as it always says I have to pay?
I didn't book any in advance no, I just turned up at the stations :) x
Hi can you tell me, do the hostels have laundry washing facilities? TIA for your reply.
Lots of them do, but if not, there are usually lots of laundrettes!
This is not an interail question but just a normal one. What programme do you use to edit your videos?
I just use iMovie :) x
Also which months did you go in?
I was interrailling from 16th July - 30th August :) xx
+Harriet Murray Did you find it was quite expensive then?
Well I mentioned it in my first interrailling video but I actually had it funded through an award I won at uni. I got £3500 to travel ! Lucky girl!
What was your budget?
£3000 x
