    Thank you for breaking down the book.
    I’ve read it many times, but I couldn’t truly understand the messages. I would feel like I connected with some parts, but others left me feeling confused. Now, I truly understand the Crystal Merchant and the message the author was trying to portray. He didn’t follow his personal legend. But then there’s Santiago, who was on pursuit of his legend, and all that transformed around him. And how it even had an effect on others.
    Life will present unexpected challenges. But, they are meant to happen and they are good for you. To take you higher. There are lessons to be learned in them to move forward. It’s there for a reason.
    Thank you for this video.

      I think he was trying to tell us that we are all alchemist; all we have to do is follow our own legend.

    I had seen it on "X books to read before you die" lists and gave it a read. I didn't really get the reverence for it. It was short, so I gave it another try to see if I missed something. Nope, still don't get it. I guess it might not be that great to me because I had already internalized pretty much all of the lessons/messages of the book from other sources. It kind of felt like a bunch of common wisdom.

    I really liked this book but I was a bit thrown off by the pointless love story that was forced into it.

    • @samanthacastaneda5494
      @samanthacastaneda5494 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      I don’t think it was pointless. Why you may ask? Well, he was about to stay in the dessert for Fatima. The alchemist told him what would happen if he decided to stay in the desert FOR Fatima. He was going to be unhappy and so was she etc. I believe Paulo put this lesson out there for us as a sign to stay focused. The right person will always be there for us. Like the saying goes, if it’s real it’ll always be there. For example, let’s say I’m in law school. I meet this guy and he wants me to make more time for him but I have law school to focus on. If I jeopardize my time then I’ll most likely fail classes because I’m not using my time correctly. If that guy loves me, he’ll understand that I have my treasure to go chase. He’ll understand why I’m busy and why most of my time is devoted to school. If his love is real, he’ll be there waiting for me. Just like Fatima waited for Santiago. I hope this helps 🤍

      It wasn't forced at all, love was a part of the story, just like love is also a part if real life.
