    definitely. it is amazing to see many schools adding a "SEL" (social and emotional learning) into their curriculums. teaching children since young age about their emotions, how to navigate them, how to be empathic and understanding towards others and towards themselves is a step forward. I can also imagine, problem solving and critical thinking could be skills practiced during those classes.

      It's all bull.
      You are just creating the clever psychos.
      Yes, they will tell you how much they love & feel.
      And then you will start digging, & it's just another Hitler.
      Hitler loved Women & Environment & Children ....
      Very high EQ person.
      Or these Communists who love the idea of Gulags & want to literally exterminate some people.
      But they are very high in EQ.
      They want to exterminate people for a better good of People & the Planet.

    For me, empathy towards others and self has helped a lot in regulating my emotions during stressful situations. It allows me to see the world through their lenses and see myself from a 3rd person perspective.
    This in turn helps me understand why they are acting that way and helps me formulate a neutral response which could mitigate both their hurt and the situation at hand.
    At worst, this solves nothing, but at least you can rest assured that you are not the one adding fuel to the fire and not the one getting into the hate list of other people.

    In my experience, to manage emotions or to try to Intellectually "understand" them ( with the mind) will do little. Yes, the mind will allow us to become aware of the emotions; perhaps even to repress them but emotions cannot be controlled many times( managed) through the mind. Many times we react right away according to the circumstances and the mind doesn't have the time to interfere in the outburst of emotions. Observation (not through the mind) through awareness ( it is a different kind of observation) is capable of that "understanding" but at another level. Finally, emotions known as " negative emotions" need to be healed. Those are traumas which could be released, but that is another topic. Thank you for bringing up this topic of emotional intelligence.

    In my opinion EQ can be raised significantly by a few processes
    1.Being open minded
    2. Listening more than talking
    3. Putting yourself in the other person’s shoe
    4. Realise that there is a cause for every actions
    5. Analysing the consequences of your actions
    Of course If you want to add more to the list or comment on what I said your free to do so

    The way I view emotional intelligence is the following: Your amygdala interprets your own hormones. If you are in tune with it, you are also capable of interpreting others as well. This extends to mountain sides, and even down to esp. While analog thought is more intricate, if both people are tuned to the same thought process, they can instinctually perceive the others course of action. As an example, those with an innate ability, or high emotional intelligence, can walk into a building feel/sense the energy field of the other person(s). While you may not be capable of directly interpreting their thoughts, the ability to sense, and perceive what they are thinking is immediately available. When the other is also in tune, the connection is strengthened. And, no, I don't use barbiturates. Your emotions have an electrochemical signature that your amygdala is capable of recognizing. As a preamp is capable of intensifying a vinyl record signal, this can also occur biologically. Walk into a new house or environment, and immediately know its history? Instantly feel joy or sadness pouring off others? This is your body's ability to detect the electro dynamics of the environment. It is not limited by distance, only by intensity and focus. If you are not aware of the signal(s), you tune them out. If indeed, you are aware or focus on select patterns, the ability is vastly informational. (This is how different species communicate aside from contextual clues).

    Emotional intelligence should be taught and acknowledged in schools. Why not learn psychology and self awareness early on? I think it will help those who struggle with IQ and school in general. Speaking from someone who has ‘general learning disabilities’.
    If a person want to learn or to be motivated, they have to recognize their own emotions and be able to place themselves in a good/quiet state of mind. Why should it be expected for a young person to figure that all out by themselves? If you train EQ early on, I don’t doubt that learning will be twice as easier.

    Emotional intelligence as an expected skill has lead to marginalization and exclusion of some populations. In my case. I'm autistic and do not have the ability to communicate using non-verbal modes, such as facial expressions and tone-of-voice. On top of that, I'm a heterosexual, cissexual, white male. Due to academic activism and social engineering, new unattainable expectations have been set, with harsh sanctions for failure to comply. In effect, those of us who have an exploitable disability coupled with one or more villainous demographics (autistic, white male) are pushed from marginal inclusion to outright exclusion. We are expected to be compliant with non-verbal cues which are often non-verbal bullying based on a demographic pecking order managed by academia.

    The 'using emotion' example is dumb because it shows someone only responding on an emotional level, showing, I would say, a lack of awareness or intelligence to understand and even override an action driven by pure emotion. Edit: Other than empathy, I think these two are off the mark, presenting a more touchy-feely view of what people are going thru mentally and emotionally. Being happy has nothing to do with cognitive ability, and "success" probably has more to do with taking initiative (being less afraid to try new things) and following thru (staying motivated and setting priorities).

    • @Zorgosto
      @Zorgosto ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree with your first statement. You should try to reflect about your emotions before you act. Otherwise it can lead to bad situations and ones that might be negative for you.
      Don't necessarily agree with your edit (if I understand it correctly). I think you can be more happy if you are more emotionally intelligent. Because if you manage your emotions well you can avoid negative thought patterns which usually only hold you back or you can listen to negative emotions and see what they want to tell you. Because normally negative emotions have a reasoning and might be connected to an unfulfilled desire or something bad that happened.

    • @majormononoke8958
      @majormononoke8958 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Your EQ is to low, once you reach a decent level around 100 you will understand that you can use your emotions to do good or you get stuff of your chest. To block your emotions consumes a lot of energy and leaves problems in the long run that must be addressed.
