I use it doing mostly ones and twos off. Without a doubt the best thing about it is you have almost every setting you could want if you dig through it, but you don't have to. "12mm End Mill, go rough that pocket, speeds, feeds, depth of cut, and stepover" EdgeCAM says "you got it boss" you'll get an excellent toolpath, in under a minute of programming often. It's an extremely time efficient and capable system.
@@MTDCNC I did few times, and I will urge people to use it and move more manual deburring on to their machines. It will be more reliable and quality won't vary based on who drives the turbo.
Hi there, I was using few other CAM in past such as SolidCam,Fusion360,Hypermill and I can say EdgeCam it was the worst CAM I ever used, it only My opinion but I dont like it out of date compare to other CAM softwares
@@MTDCNC It's archaic, Fusion 360 for example has easy box menus and very simple to understand. EDGECAM has absolutely zero information online on how to utilise it properly as opposed to the thousands of videos online for Fusion 360. EDGECAMs menus are full of jargon that is just confusing to understand, Fusion 360 has popups that explain everything simply and fully when you hover over any option basically. These are just a few of the things that irritate me about it, dont even get me started on the CAD side. Don't get me wrong though, if you know what you're doing with it, it's very powerful software, the learning curve is hell though.
@@mrnobody9010 100% agree, the amount of bullshit like creating turn and mill profiles on Edgecam that other softwares just pick up by you clicking it is insane. Not to mention the entire lack of available knowledge on how to use Edgecam I.e TH-cam videos. Edgecam is going to slowly but surely find itself out of business. All they do is suck companies dry between standard post processors for £5k each and then the training on top of it that you need to pay for. It’s shit from top down.

glad you like it, what sort of parts are you making ?
@@MTDCNC modular mold parts and associated hardware for own product injection molding
Compared to what ? To manual machining ?
you not agree?
The latest 5 axis deburring is really great.
Have you been using it ?

Great advice thank you !

Could you explain what you mean?

I've used Edgecam for few years and after I moved to Mastercam which is way better than Edgecam in my opinion.
