    well executed video. 11 months further down the line this concept still holds up. the onyl gigantic flaw in all of this is GPT4's measly 4096 token window. recently gemini 1.5 came out with a whooping 1M token window. the context it can grasp is astonishing.

    • @TraverseAI
      @TraverseAI  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is crazy to think how much has happened over the last year. The token window is perhaps the most important factor until we can create GPT tools that are trained on our proprietary data. The way I think about it is that the context window is context for the AI tool to run-on. But once we can create high performance AI tools trained on our own data, the possibilities are going to become incredible.

    Overall Score: 6.2/10
    Clarity (6/10): The prompt provides a clear scenario, but the multiple steps and details make it a bit cumbersome to follow. The user's intentions are clear, but the flow could be streamlined.
    Brevity (5/10): The prompt is lengthy. While it's essential to provide all necessary details, some information could be condensed or rephrased for brevity.
    Coherence (7/10): The prompt is coherent in that it follows a logical sequence of events. However, the multiple steps and the way they're presented can be a bit overwhelming.
    Precision (7/10): The prompt is precise in its details, mentioning specific names and actions. However, the list format at the end (with a missing "b") disrupts the flow.
    Language (6/10): The language is straightforward, but there's room for improvement in terms of conciseness and fluidity.
    Refined Prompt:
    "Assume the role of an attorney for Ron Myclient and Myclient CO. You're in talks with Mike Adverse Counsel, attorney for Adverse Company, Corp, about terminating services. First, request Mike's recent email for context. Then, ask for my draft response. Revise my draft to emphasize: (a) it's our final offer, (b) maintain a professional tone, and (c) convey confidence in our legal stance. Understood?"

      All good feedback . Adapting to the evolving landscape of technology, especially AI, is not a one-time event but a continuous learning process. I personally find myself improving every week as I build my skills in interacting with AI tools like ChatGPT. Just like any other professional tool, the more you use it, the more proficient you become. And this proficiency can make a significant difference in an AI-enabled workplace. Those who master these tools early on will find themselves at a distinct advantage. So while we're all in the learning phase, let's not forget that the race is long, and it's the most skilled who will emerge as the frontrunners in the AI revolution.

      If you are asking GPT to improve content or draft around specific concepts it is reliable. But you cant use it for case law research as a stand alone service since is not connected to any proprietary case law database. So no case law research! But, there are third party services such as case text that are connected to case law databases that are bulletproof.

    One caveat to the guidance about speech-to-text - it assumes you're in an environment where you can do that. If you're in a public place, or a noisy place, speech-to-text may not be practical. I've heard way too many people having speaker phone conversations or doing speech-to-text in coffee shops or at crowded airport gates and there are serious privacy (not to mention etiquette) concerns with that.
    So yes, in a private location speech-to-text is amazing. But typing is still preferable if you're in an environment where others may overhear your speech.

    Have you looked at the privacy policy for whisper? If it is still in research mode and training the model, I am curious as to whether it is problematic for attorneys to use on client matters without violating ethics rules.

    • @TraverseAI
      @TraverseAI  ปีที่แล้ว

      Warden. Great question. I did a whole video and data privacy and I’m surprised it hasn’t gotten more views. I would’ve thought lawyers and law firms would’ve been most concerned about data privacy. The answer to your question, the whisper technology through the open AI playground is the use of their API. Here is the date of the policy for the API, Which ensures privacy. From API data usage policies, the following three points are made:
      1. OpenAI will not use data submitted by customers via our API to train or improve our models, unless you explicitly decide to share your data with us for this purpose. You can opt-in to share data.
      2. Any data sent through the API will be retained for abuse and misuse monitoring purposes for a maximum of 30 days, after which it will be deleted (unless otherwise required by law).
      3. The OpenAI API processes user prompts and completions, as well as training data submitted to fine-tune models via the Files endpoint. We refer to this data as API data.”

    • @TraverseAI
      @TraverseAI  ปีที่แล้ว

      if you are using whisper technology through your iPhone app, the data settings that you set in the web app apply equally in the iPhone app. I did a video on how to set that up to ensure data privacy as well. So the short answer to your question is that open AI privacy policy ensures that no proprietary or client information is being used to train the model, and that all such data is being deleted after 30 days. Within the 30 days they are simply ensuring you’re not using AI to take over the world and have strict access limitations.

    • @osman3404
      @osman3404 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its very interesting but now that i think about it, we never think twice these days about privacy when sending client data via email servers lol
      We somehow, over the years trust google, microsoft or other email servers to do the right thing and not leak private client documents we send via email.

    1) what version of this ChatGPT version (free or subscribe) ?

    • @TraverseAI

      Sorry for the delayed responses, I've been traveling and otherwise in trial. This is the ChatGPT Plus version, which you can get at $20 a month. I highly recommend that you watch my video on data security, which will explain how to make sure that none of the information you input into ChatGPT can be used by ChatGPT in its own dataset. You do raise a very important issue in your second question. AI works on input and output tokens. It can only ingest so many tokens of input and provide so many tokens of output. While OpenAI recently increased the number of input tokens, 50 pages would no doubt exceed that limit. You can, however, break it up into smaller blocks or simply tell ChatGPT to read the first 15 pages and let you know when it is done, then ask it to read the next 15 pages and ask it to let you know when it is done, and so on. The input token limits will continue to increase, which will certainly make ChatGPT more valuable for professionals who need to use AI on large documents.

    This prompt is not engineering, it is over-engineering. What competent lawyer would spend so much time in crafting a prompt to then write an email, when just writing the email would have been more efficient? The "language of delegation" as you say is an important skill, but it must yield to rule 1 of delegation-- only delegate when it will be more efficient than doing it yourself. Worse, once a lawyer does this over-engineering, they then have to quality check it, and almost certainly make edits. Your example is how not to waste a lot of time with AI, and I thank you for that lesson.

      Thank you for sharing your perspective, and I appreciate the skepticism. When it comes to new technologies like AI, questioning their efficacy is a healthy exercise. However, let's not forget that "efficiency" can be subjective. While some may view crafting prompts for AI as "over-engineering," others find that the quality, tone, and sheer speed of drafting provided by tools like ChatGPT can be a game-changer in managing workloads and building client relationships.
      Also, the "quality check" you mention is part and parcel of any delegation, be it to a human or AI. The aim is to streamline processes, not eliminate oversight.
      To anyone reading this comment: don't be discouraged by the skeptics. Innovation often faces resistance, but the potential benefits of embracing AI in legal work are too substantial to ignore. And keep reading the next comment for more...

      One of the most impactful aspects of ChatGPT is its ability to contribute to building constructive relationships. Often, the legal profession can lean toward a communication style that's aggressive, negative, or demeaning. However, a tool like ChatGPT offers an alternative approach. It helps create a tone that is not only professional but also conducive to fostering positive relationships. For example, let's consider how the following comment might have read if reviewed and improved using ChatGPT: "Your video offers a fascinating look at the potential of AI in legal work. While I personally find the "language of delegation" to be a crucial skill, I also believe that its ultimate goal should be efficiency. Crafting prompts for AI is one approach, but for some legal professionals, the traditional method of directly drafting an email may be more efficient. Moreover, it's important to consider the quality assurance that would naturally follow the AI-generated content. I appreciate your video for showcasing an alternative method, and it's a valuable lesson for those considering the use of AI in their practice."

      @@TraverseAI I am not a skeptic, I am highly active AI user for database and legal analysis. My comment was about the specific example you demonstrated and the low cost benefit ratio I thought the example communicated.

      @@TraverseAI This GPT rewrite is a good example of AI hallucination. The statement that your demonstration of an over engineered email constituted "a valuable lesson" is the opposite of my point. Instead, your demonstration was a valuable lesson on what not to do with AI, in my opinion.

      @@t.m.guyerandayersfriendspc2050 I appreciate you proving yet again that some people’s style of communication would be vastly improved using AI. Looking forward to your videos or further comments on how you use AI on your ‘data’ any how you incorporate AI into your practice.

    Just want you to know, this was very quiet. I've got my headphone amp nearly maxed out just to hear your voice clearly and usually only have it at 40% at similar content.

    Well, as an engineer and legal litigator, I would not call this Engineering.
    This is rather careful pre-condition prompting, and a method to convey to ChatAI how to do something in a more precise form.
    This technician work, not engineering.
