Nice detailed review! However, you need to stop being so passionate about this game. Every time I watch one of your reviews, I just want to drop everything and play some Marvel Champions. Darn you, Nelson! LOL!
I agree with how you've ranked the aspects! Something about Protection seems like it should work so well, and I can see on mcdb people are trying to get it to work, but I think - in solo specifically - it's rough. I think it works better in multiplayer, and I think it will work best after Angel releases and we get new tools.
Thanks for yet another thoughtful and enthusiastic review! I agree: solo he needs some tlc while in multiplayer he unleashes the team. Something that I noticed that not too many have commented on are his card types and how card types work in his kit. What I mean is this: he might be the first to have a support resource generator as opposed to an upgrade. It means that there really is a difference between Build Support and Superpower Training for him. If he does Build Support, he can get his signature resource generator but others need to pull a Helicarrier or Blackbird or Quinjet - or - he can forgo Greymalkin to pull his weapon to allow others to pull their clutch upgrade with Superpower Training. Colossus and Cable are so good because Cable can guarantee a first turn Iron Will every single game, on top of the Body Slide shenanigans! Cool Justice points, too, are that upgrades like Overwatch count as Cable thwarting thanks to the "you" rules, which also apply to the efficient Justice events, so I can see why that aspect is his best for solo.
Oh that is super interesting about the card types! I never really thought about how the hero specific generators are usually upgrades. That is a cool way to do that! That just solidified my need to play Cable+Colossus! Oh my gosh I need that in my life! Excellent point re Overwatch that I totally didnt catch! Nice! Thanks for the comment and insight!!
Hey again! I'm now up to some 35 games with Cable and still having a blast solo and in 2 player. I've found him super powerful, and still agree to disagree with your tier placement (just watched your domino review though so appreciate a pinch of salt on comparing to others.) Strangely, and I'd Love your thoughts here. I had a 3 player game yesterday and yea...opposite of expectations. Playing with two attack heavy team mates meant clearing his side schemes for 9 nearly solo. It was a real slog...granted the other two players are very new. Forgive me if already done but a video on player aspect synergy would be amazing. In two player/two handed it's kind of easy to work out. But 3-4 I think you need to really know who's doing what.
Totally fair! And I hope I conveyed that his placement relative to other heroes will go up with the reshuffle! Heroes above him are going to be relegated I think that would be awesome! VillainTheory and I talked a bit about that in this video: th-cam.com/video/3bxpGVuYhM8/w-d-xo.html and I totally agree. Decks look so much different based on player count. You really need to focus rather than try and diversify what your deck is trying to do!
Great review! I’m loving Cable and he’s slid into my second favourite hero slot behind his dad Cyclops (at least until we get Punisher haha). But honestly so fun being able to break the deck-building rules and there are a few times where I have cleared 2 or more side schemes in a player phase powering him up quick. Late game is exceptional often double digits thwart and attack with his events. His nemesis is super hard though but very thematic as it’s basically Cable in a way. Love your content and subscribed!
Having played a bunch of Cable in multiplayer, if I have a Mind Scan or other 3+ threat removal card in my opening hand, I go for TVP right off the bat because I can clear it turn 1 and get the free ready to thwart or attack something else. If not, I grab something else (usually Build Support).
I played with 3 heroes with Cable and I'd say for such large team leadership>justice, the way I played was to get Side Scheme that gets you ally, as first one have Uncanny Xfoce out asap and just create this engine that can remove 9 threat from a scheme every round to the end of the game (Fantomex, Deathlok and Deadpool, all with Inspired. although usually I'd finish my game just with first 2 in play) - what I want to say if you are in large group and want to remove a lot of threat in consistent manner I suggest go leadership
I found I lost most games where I start with TVP in play. If you don’t draw a event, it’s hard to clear and makes setup a real pain. I tend to start with a 2 or 3 threat scheme to start the buildup quicker. Have had much better results that way
so first off, loved the video. Cable is my most anticipated hero yet and somehow i have held off on getting this box til october so my wife could get me an actual bday present that i really wanted, its been tough. quick question, this is my first venture into the channel, and now i am definitely going back to the later ones, is your hero tier ranking just on ones you have already reviewed?
Thanks! Excited for you to grab it soon!! And yep! The community votes on who I play next and then I play 4 games with them (in each aspect) then do a review video! The tier list has caused some confusion recently and needs a bit of TLC so I am planning on doing a video soon to help fix that!
Tvp can have threat removed by supports that other players have played. Supports do not count as the players identity, nor are they characters. In multiplayer, anyone running beat cop, or surveillance team could help. She hulks law firm can also assist
@@NelsonAllOverCards I agree that build support is best for most scenarios, but TVP is a must for the Next Evolution campaign because of the Hope Summers ally. Getting Cable to 3/3/3 and Hope to 3/3 turn one is just stupid powerful. Which leads to my biggest complaint about the new box: Hope's forced inclusion into 3 of the 5 new scenarios. What are your thoughts on Hope Summers? I'm not a fan of any of the scenarios that force me to use them, like the Milano or Magneto Ally. So Hope being forced on me for most of these new scenarios was a huge letdown. It's made worse by the fact that her power level is so inconsistent. She's crazy strong with Cable or Phoenix, but pretty weak with someone like Quicksilver and his 1/1/1 stat line.
@@mitch-TO Oh that is a great point! Getting her to 3/3 is insane! I am okay with it, I think it is a cool way to make the scenarios a bit more unique! I do like it more when the benefit comes with a tougher encounter, so having Hope around to help with some of the tougher villains in the box I am okay with! It is weird how inconsistent she can be and rewards higher stats, I was playing a Ms. Marvel game with Hope and she wansnt super useful!
Great review! I’m interested to see how Cable’s power level grows as more player side schemes get added. He strikes me as the type of hero where deck building for the scenario will be a huge help.
Yep! This tier list is being created one character at a time with these hero spotlight videos! When a new character comes out I skip to reviewing them, but when revisiting older heroes I have the community vote on who I should play/review next!

Mind scan treachery totally wrecked my intro playthrough with Cable. Caught me off guard. :p

We play company as domino abd cable
>cable complete call for backup

I'm really enjoying Cable, been undefeated in solo Justice so far. Knock on wood! He builds up so strong. 💪
Oh very nice!!
@@NelsonAllOverCards Been lucky not to see shadow of the past until after i was set up! It's so nasty
