Without her, Jiang Xiao Yu would have been killed much earlier. (Hua Wu Que also acknowledged her critical role). She also afforded the opportunity for JXY to reflect and finally be motivated to change for the “better”. Just being good at something, i.e., martial arts etc, or being “useful” aren’t the most important things about a character. Her strengths was in her honesty, firm and principled convictions and behavior, foolhardy and impulsive some of those might be. I do not wonder why both brothers loved her so much. For me, she is an amazing character.
