At this rate, it will require 8 BILLION men to take all of Ukraine. Losing a tiny bit of territory is not losing a war.
And even if Russia had 8 billion men to spare it still couldn't conquer Ukraine because within a year Russia will have used up all of its stored army equipment in decent condition and Russia is quickly using up its liquid assets in its national wealth fund plus Ukraine is gradually destroying Russian oil refineries. Plus, it took over two years for Russia to capture Vuhledar so to capture all of Ukraine at that rate would take many thousands if not millions of years and Russia is facing demographic collapse so by the end of this century might have only half as many men as it does now. I was in Mariupol as recently as 2018. There were plenty of remnants of Russia's first attempt at stealing the city in 2013. The people I spoke with never brought up politics though, except when talking about the upcoming presidential election.
Documenting life in Ukraine since the war started. Take a look and remember that we can all donate as individuals directly to volunteers on the front line. We can help them fight every month
Doubt that Ukrainian 'volunteers' could be helped every month, as most of them are forcibly conscripted, and average about 1 week lifespan at the front. Most are dead, captured, or actually surrender in this timescale. Money cannot replace commitment or proper training.
Afghanistan is nothing compared to the current war in Ukraine, more Russian soldiers have died in Ukraine, compared to all the wars after WW2 put together. Im not surprised of a million Russian casualties in the war at least by the time the war ends.

Israel also did not condemn China for their treatment of the Uighursr which has been labeled genocide. Both Ironic considering.
The thing that keeps being missed on most times radio stories in regards to allowing use of storm shadow is not just the American components. It is that these weapons require direct us Assistance for operation during the attack.
Ukraine has already been using storm shadows to hit Russians in Crimea including a devastating attack on Russia's Black Sea naval headquarters in Sevastopol. Thus, given that the Russian government has said for a long time that Crimea is part of Russia, it would seem that Russia has no logical reason to claim that hitting places in Russia with storm shadow missiles is any different than hitting places in Crimea with storm shadow missiles. That is unless the Russian government wants to admit that Crimea is part of Ukraine, not Russia.
As the man said. "We've made too many compromises already; too many retreats. They invade our space and we fall back. They assimilate entire worlds and we fall back. Not again. The line must be drawn here. This far, no further." Not one inch. The rf needs to lose, and they need to lose huge.
High inflation, low wages, and lack of opportunities can work for or against Putin's war plans. People could rise up because their lives have been disrupted. Or people could sign up for military service because it is the only opportunity they have to provide for their families.
Alright, could you guys maybe put the tiniest little bit of effort into equalizing the volume between the interviewer and the interviewee? Makes it incredibly frustrating to listen.
At this point losing one village here or there doesn't matter any longer. What matters for Ukraine is to hold on and keep putting Russia under pressure until the Russian economy collapses completely. To that end, the attack in the Kursk region plays an incredibly important role, because it increases wildly both the casualties and the logistic burden on the Russian side. It is of paramount importance that the Russians DO NOT obtain any kind of ceasefire, which would undoubtedly work in their favour by letting them breathe and give them time to recover. Also, we're always talking about the Kremlin's red lines, but I find it rather bizarre that nobody mentions Ukraine's red lines. For example, if it looks like the Kremlin is going to have things its way thanks to shifts in the West's support, what keeps Ukraine from using those useless long-range American weapons and shoot them at Moscow and the Kremlin in particular, at St Petersburg, at Russia's power plants and so on? We always take for granted that the Ukrainians will keep being good boys and nicely put up with rules that apply only for them and not for their invader. What if they snap and stop pulling their punches? What will the West do: stop supporting Ukraine and let Russia destroy it? It's astonishing that this possibility is never mentioned anywhere.
Building huge static defense positions is not feasible - the lines are too long. A defensive construction sufficient to resist a 3 ton gliding bombs could not be extensive.
From $37K to $65K that's the minimum range of profit return every month I think it's not a bad one for me, now I have enough to pay bills and take care of my family. ❤️

This guy is so clear and down to earth. Agree with everything he said. I also think maybe we could consider giving Ukraine weapons that aren't 30 years old. Presumably we have even more effective weapons than Storm shadow
Russia has strangely been collapsing for over 2 yrs. And every week they make serious mistakes that is a sign of their end. Yet they advance daily and occupy and hold 20%+ of the territory. Ukraine has had no reply. Why.? And before you say it.....having a few long range missiles will make no significant difference on the 630 mile frontline.
The weakness is the economy. The ruble has lost 300% of its value against the dolllar since 2014. The lost western markets and tech cannot be replaced by turning to China. It simply isn't rich or advanced enough, and needs those western markets itself.
"Britain has led the way" - maybe in statements, but far from it in substance. Have a look at how much has been delivered from different countries, the UK is far far down the list.
Nope. We are 3rd. Also, UK has committed £12.8 billion for Ukraine: £7.8 billion in military support and £5 billion in non-military support. So. Can I have your proof to dispel this?
@Vic-ng8if Ukraine Support Tracker, relative to the size of the economy the UK is no. 16, just behind Bulgaria (but in front of France). Each Brittan has given less than 1/5 as mush as each Dane, which leads the pack.
@Vic-ng8if Believe? It's facts, feel free to look it up. To avoid fractures in the alliance supporting Ukraine, it is important that everyone contributes a fair share, including France, Italy, the UK and the US.
well yah Russian are pushing forward at massive costs. like Vulhedar is a town which cost the Russians 2 years to conquer losing 50K casualties in 800 to 1000 tanks and APCs in the process. yah you conquered not a town but a PILE OF RUBBLE. everything in vulhedar is destroyed. Yep and the Ukrainians have not collapsed and are fighting hard still. and established new defensive positions a few miles beyond. and back all over again.
sure it took years to take this fortified town...now explain why Ukraine losing towns twice the size every other day further up the line is also some how a great win for Ukraine too....I swear to god these Times Radio comment sections are cringe inducing the level of reality denying nonsense its filled with...Russia right now has been on a complete tear since the fall of Avdiivka up and down the entire front and all I hear around here is how this is somehow a super secret cunning plan to win the war for Ukraine... What are we waiting for ....a new Steiner counter attack to turn the tide and bring about victory?
Good analogy: the west has thrown Ukraine a life-ring but has fallen short of pulling them aboard and left them there bobbing in the water to fend for themselves.
Bit rough to mention thar the USA didnt act accordingly or appropriately to the annexation of Crimea without calling out the whole of Europe and Scandinavian Countries who also didnt act. Ukraine is a whole lot closer to Europe and Scandinavia than the USA.
It's foolish to criticise Ukraine for not building concrete defence lines behind their positions. They can either spend money on such defences (a thousand + miles) or spend it on missiles, drones and armoured vehicles to smash the Russian advance and their logistics. Just sitting in concrete bunkers is daft - the Maginot line was evaded, the Atlantic Wall was smashed and the Siegfried line was pointless. I don't think any country can afford to do both, including the United States.
Dear UK, I can´t stand your attitude any longer. "The war will end up in some sort of agreement". Bec you let it happen. Put your money where your mouth is. allow Ukraine to use long range missiles to hit targets in Russia. Why would you even deliver weapons and then dictate how they use them? Thoughts and prayers and lamenting how bad and sad the war is are not helping. Don´t pretend to express sympathy whilst lamenting the situation and holding back on support. Russia is strong in hybrid warfare as well as active threats. Russian ship with chemical weapons and explosives right in front of your coast. Suicide drones dropped in NATO ally states by Russia. Also no response either from anyone. You are enabling them whilst doing the bare minimum or pretending. Lives are lost bec you let it happen. You got blood on your hands, too. Wake up.
Very good interview spot on! He touched so many things going on all over the line…. That was just one thing if you listen to Anna Anders Puck in the latest silicon TH-cam it is not a static war… and Ukraine losing a little bit of land in the east and gaining some land in Russia and bombing there ammunition in Russia is quite a big deal so when someone talks about it’s a static war now on the opposite! And we in Europe have to do even more…. But again, a very good interview thanks.!
It's too simplistic to think in terms of Russian incremental gains - the real game is the huge amount of men and materiel Russia is losing for those small gains. The Russian losses are simply frightening.
Hey you can´t blame the US all the time. If they deliver weapons, people say they are warmongering, if they don´t deliver people say they let everybody down. Many countries rely on the US guns thinking just let the boys do it. Now the boys say don´t do that with my guns because reasons everybody panics. Why do they panic? Because they have been to stingy with Euros to put weapons in the closet they may never use. Just selling the warstuff to countries that better don´t have that stuff.
RE: "None-shall-pass line" Just as in the fight against water, concrete does not solve this problem. Concrete creates a place where force can be concentrated, and the concrete will fail. Instead, you need to put a sequence of smaller obstacles in the water's path, each one reducing the power of the water, until it has lost its force. We Dutch call it "ruimte voor de rivier". The military specialists call it "defense in depth".
ukraine is using mobile defense because russia has stockpile of missilies that can wipe any "you shall not pass" line. tactical retreat is best defense in this situation, make them waste their munition. its dumb to think that any stationary target can be invinsible
The very-slow-withdrawal/losing and not using big guns may be a strategy. It emboldens Russia to think its winning despite the high cost and keep pouring resources it cant afford in the lomg term at the problem, and spreads them out thinner and thinner.... might be a plan here.
@stephenhill545 1. I am referring to before that. 2. Definitely less than that (1 mln Russians after 2014, I mean) 3. Crimea has never had at any point in it's history ethnic Ukrainian, Ukranian speaking, Ukrainian oriented majority. Sorry, that's just a fact of life, like it or not. 4. Crimea has been colonized, conquered by numerous civilizations staring with the Greeks. Of all of those Ukrainian presence has had the least practical impact short of imposing language norms and converting Russian patronimics to Ukraian standards. Of all the civilizations that ever controlled Crimea, Ukraine invested the least into its infrastructure
13:00 its not about American components in the stormshadows - its about needing American help with targeting the missiles to targets deep inside Russia. I would expect an "expert" to understand this.
Why do the Ukrainians have to be in line with your strategic thinking? Have you fought any Russians? Have you come up against the tactics that the Russians are using? Why does western military strategy have to be the standard the Ukrainians must use?

Two-thirds of the people I work with don't follow politics, know very little about politics and really don't care about politics, people voting out of emotion are easily manipulated. In 2016, the border was the main issue for Trump and building a wall, immigration still hasn't been fixed but there is no mention of fixing it this time around for trump and certainly not building a wall this time. Every week Times Radio report that Putin is done for. Yet, here comes another video..
The man doesn’t know when he’s beat.
I was in Donetsk and Mariupol before 2014. And owned a flat in Crimea since 1999 and there was never an problems between Russians and Ukrainians then. Or Tatars in Crimea. 😊
I was in Mariupol as recently as 2018. There were plenty of remnants of Russia's first attempt at stealing the city in 2013. The people I spoke with never brought up politics though, except when talking about the upcoming presidential election.
no, this was putins madness. Propaganda works
The US ruined a country just to play geopolitics with Russia.
Russia is experiencing inflation and casualties that would make every American go insane.
Documenting life in Ukraine since the war started. Take a look and remember that we can all donate as individuals directly to volunteers on the front line. We can help them fight every month
Slava Ukraini 🇺🇦
How
Yes. Please go sign up to the armed forces of ukraine, they pay well and are taking mercenaries
Doubt that Ukrainian 'volunteers' could be helped every month, as most of them are forcibly conscripted, and average about 1 week lifespan at the front. Most are dead, captured, or actually surrender in this timescale. Money cannot replace commitment or proper training.
Tim can see whats Russia and Iran are doing.why cannot our Leaders see it. Why WHY. Tim is a great GUY
Afghanistan is nothing compared to the current war in Ukraine, more Russian soldiers have died in Ukraine, compared to all the wars after WW2 put together. Im not surprised of a million Russian casualties in the war at least by the time the war ends.
Not understanding a fighting retreat to exhaust an enemy is particularly deficient thinking.
Ivan, why did you, with 6000 nuclear weapons, invade? Ukraine has 0 nukes. Putin said you invaded "in self defence". Putin is obviously lying. So why did you invade?

thumbs up for james hanson's moderation. well balanced, well prepared, concise and interesting.
Israel was one of the few western "friendly" countries that did not condemn Russia when the Ukrainian war started in 2014 or resumed recently. So I find it ironic that Russia is now antisemitic now that Iran is actively engaging with Israel.

Thisbpoint isnt missed, the long range permission is a cop out for when they finally admit defeat(ukraine lost this war 2yrs ago).
Ukraine has already been using storm shadows to hit Russians in Crimea including a devastating attack on Russia's Black Sea naval headquarters in Sevastopol.
Thus, given that the Russian government has said for a long time that Crimea is part of Russia,
it would seem that Russia has no logical reason to claim that hitting places in Russia with storm shadow missiles is any different than hitting places in Crimea with storm shadow missiles.
That is unless the Russian government wants to admit that Crimea is part of Ukraine, not Russia.
There's no Maginot line bc that didn't work.
As the man said.
"We've made too many compromises already; too many retreats. They invade our space and we fall back. They assimilate entire worlds and we fall back. Not again. The line must be drawn here. This far, no further."
Not one inch. The rf needs to lose, and they need to lose huge.
High inflation, low wages, and lack of opportunities can work for or against Putin's war plans. People could rise up because their lives have been disrupted. Or people could sign up for military service because it is the only opportunity they have to provide for their families.
TY, gentlemen. Rational discourse is much appreciated, from the USA.
One in a while Times Radio does not promote Trump and have an above average interview - this is one such presentation! Thanks! Slava Ukraini!

Each Brittan has given less than 1/5 as mush as each Dane, which leads the pack.

well yah Russian are pushing forward at massive costs. like Vulhedar is a town which cost the Russians 2 years to conquer losing 50K casualties in 800 to 1000 tanks and APCs in the process. yah you conquered not a town but a PILE OF RUBBLE. everything in vulhedar is destroyed.

There has not been a major defensive line created during a war that has not been breached at some point. Strange opening.
i get the feeling that this guy would have pushed for the maginot line, claimed its invincibility then been surprised when the germans went round it.
Wake up.
Spot on!!!
My understanding is that the US not the UK is the one holding back the use of long range missiles?

Very good interview spot on! He touched so many things going on all over the line…. That was just one thing if you listen to Anna Anders Puck in the latest silicon TH-cam it is not a static war… and Ukraine losing a little bit of land in the east and gaining some land in Russia and bombing there ammunition in Russia is quite a big deal so when someone talks about it’s a static war now on the opposite! And we in Europe have to do even more…. But again, a very good interview thanks.!

Hahaha 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
We keep hearing this from beginning, its not going to happen.
You mean the United States isn't to blame for everything?
Yes 🙄🙄
Hey you can´t blame the US all the time. If they deliver weapons, people say they are warmongering, if they don´t deliver people say they let everybody down. Many countries rely on the US guns thinking just let the boys do it. Now the boys say don´t do that with my guns because reasons everybody panics. Why do they panic? Because they have been to stingy with Euros to put weapons in the closet they may never use. Just selling the warstuff to countries that better don´t have that stuff.
RE: "None-shall-pass line"
Just as in the fight against water, concrete does not solve this problem.
True sir
ukraine is using mobile defense because russia has stockpile of missilies that can wipe any "you shall not pass" line. tactical retreat is best defense in this situation, make them waste their munition. its dumb to think that any stationary target can be invinsible
The very-slow-withdrawal/losing and not using big guns may be a strategy. It emboldens Russia to think its winning despite the high cost and keep pouring resources it cant afford in the lomg term at the problem, and spreads them out thinner and thinner.... might be a plan here.
Sorry, but it's simply not true about poling in Crimea
Crimea has been colonised by a million Russians since 2014. Ethnic cleansing is also a war crime.
@stephenhill545 1. I am referring to before that.
2. Definitely less than that (1 mln Russians after 2014, I mean)
Ssshhhh John.
Why do the Ukrainians have to be in line with your strategic thinking? Have you fought any Russians? Have you come up against the tactics that the Russians are using? Why does western military strategy have to be the standard the Ukrainians must use?

Trump being so close in the polls in the US goes to show that most voters are low information voters and when voters don't have information to rely on, they rely on emotion to guide their voting. The right has been selling fear for decades. 40-50 million people watched the VP debate, that still means 100+million did not watch it. Policy doesn't matter to these people they are totally bought into the fear and emotion the right push.
