    Concerning the communion service:
    Barley was the grain most commonly used to make into flour for bread in Iron Age Israel. Barley (hordeum vulgare) was the most important grain during the biblical period, and this was recognized ritually on the second day of Passover in the Omer offering, consisting of barley flour from the newly ripened crop.
    You're using unauthorized bread in your communion services. Bread made from wheat is the same as the ark made from pine!
    Thoughts?

    • @dianahyden3438
      @dianahyden3438 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Like you stated they used common grains of their time. It’s not the grain- it’s the thought -it’s following a pattern of life. As people fall over rocks in the path-debating the color of grain, the right clothes to wear-they loose their way or are left behind. The door of the Ark would have closed while they hash out the differences of wood.

      @@maydaortiz478 Unleavened bread was what God prescribed as the Passover bread. Ex 12:14. That was the meal being shared by Jesus with his disciples. He was now to be our Passover lamb. So the bread was now his body and the cup his blood: A new covenant. Leaven in the bread represents corruption and this is why even Jesus would warn of the “leaven of the Pharisees “. So it is more about what the leaven represents, hence the bread is unleavened.

      #1 Consider your sins to humble yourself before God, knowing that you are helpless and completely dependent on his grace.
      #2 Believe that your sins are forgiven ONLY because of the work of our Saviour Jesus Christ.
      #3 Be resolved to live (although imperfectly while in this life) in full dedication to God in love and thankfulness.
      If these things are true, then you certainly are a partaker of Christ, united to him in his death and his resurrection. His body and blood was certainly broken and shed FOR YOU!!
      Self examination is asking the question: Is Christ's sacrifice not only for others, but also truly for me? If yes, then you can have the joy of eating and drinking in remembrance of him.

      God the Father saw your heart as you wrote those words. The Holy Bible says in Psalms 105:15, Touch not His anointed, do his prophets no harm. God has a special protection over His children and are obedient to command- to say what needs to be said, regardless. Jesus is much more than a prophet. He is, the Son of God.
      When I said, 'The Lord recompense you', I did not take my anger out on you, even though you disrespected my Lord God, my King of Kings, My Father, my darling, my love, but, I left it to the righteous God that He is, to give you as you gave Him. Judging by your response, I believe you are already feeling the decline of your strength, whatever that may be.
      The JOY of the LORD is my strength. I perceive that the Lord is not please with what you said, but He is a gracious God. Rather than make a public example of you, I rather make a public example of Christ and say that you have an opportunity to publicly repent. You have an opportunity to give your life to the One you just kicked, and He will forgive you of all your sins, including this offense. You can do this in your alone time, or if you feel lead to- publicly.
      You overcome by the word of your testimony and the sooner you do, the sooner that spirit of regret will fall of you.
      I'm a prophetess. When you even mention, the name of one of his children who are obedient, you feel the surge of His protection over them. I know you must have felt that unseen presence when you spoke against Christ.
      I pray in the name of Jesus Yeshua, that you get no rest, and no peace until you Publicly repent. Now, my faith is Strong and for every view of this comment you made I want His Presence to come that many times stronger. Repent under a new comment, erase yours because you are causing emotional distress to His believers.

    It’s always interesting to hear Protestants dance around the Eucharist without being willing to jump into the fuller implications.

    • @michaelcarter9395
      @michaelcarter9395 2 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      That's a pretty broad statement. What implications do you think are being ignored?

    • @AlexStock187
      @AlexStock187 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@michaelcarter9395 You’re right; unnecessarily vague. There are a lot, but most boil down to two things.
      First, the idea of the Body and Blood being more than purely representative. The idea that Christ’s body is in someway present with the Eucharist was believed for virtually all of Church history until the after Reformation (including several of the earliest Reformers.) Ignatius writing just after the New Testament time said that the Docetist/agnostic heretics abstained from the Eucharist because they denied real presence. Justin Martyr shortly after this likewise affirms a transformation of some kind. And so on through the ages. But even in the New Testament itself, Jesus offends his listeners in John 6 by saying they should eat (φαγω) his body and drink his blood, and rather than suggest they were thinking too literally, he doubles down and changes to saying they must eat (τρωγω). The first word means to eat in general; the second word is more visceral as it implies to chew and gnaw on something. If he were merely speaking in metaphor and symbol, why further physicalize his language? Likewise, if it’s purely representative, the idea from 1 Corinthians that some have died from partaking unworthily seems disproportionately intense.
      Second, virtually all Protestants have communion as just one small aspect of the service. For most, the sermon becomes the central aspect of Sunday morning. But again, this was never the case throughout Church history before the Reformation. Many, if not most, Protestants don’t even take communion weekly. The Eucharist was the center of Christian worship for its history, and everything else orbited around this. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the earliest direct quotation we have from Jesus in the historical record (1 Corinthians 11:23-25) is about the Eucharist.

      @@AlexStock187 I grew up in the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church, and was the Communion Stewart at a Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, so I've seen both traditional and Evangelical Communion services, (not to mention visiting my friend's Catholic Church).
      When I was the Communion Stewart, I researched the History of both Passover and Communion.
      I do agree with you that some Modern Evangelical Churches don't take Communion Seriously, but the Lutheran Church, (one of the first mainstream Protestant Movements) , celebrated the Lord's Supper very similar to the Catholic Service.
      I'm not saying I agree with their reasoning, but many modern churches attempt to demystify the practice, by not following a schedule; Some churches say they want to keep it "special", and claim performing the practice in weekly or monthly intervals is "ritualistic ", and loses its meaning. I've found these churches just never have Communion, 😞. These modern churches, usually disregard the Spiritual Mysteries, so they speak vaguely about what they truly believe. (They don't like to use any words like Saint, or Eucharist or Sacrament). Their view on Baptism is also perplexing, because they look at it as more of a public pronouncement, than a "Sacrament".
      I left my last (non-denominational) church, because they had Communion with Twinkies and Kool aid. When I addressed my concerns, they said they were making the Church accessible, (or as my friend says, "seeker friendly").
      I think all denominations bring something to God's Plan, so I pray for the Day when we are all United. We're all gifted in different ways, and no one person can comprehend God's Eternal Plan, so I like to learn as much as I can. But Protestantism ranges from Lutheranism to Non-denominational, so there's a big range. Ironically, over the last 500 years, the Catholic Church has a adopted a few of Luther's reforms (having services in common languages, and addressing some of the ethical issues).

    • @AlexStock187
      @AlexStock187 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@michaelcarter9395 Yes, the reason I kept qualifying with “many” or “many, if not most” is because there are some Protestants, Lutherans above all, that have a more serious view of the Eucharist. And, unfortunately, while Luther himself is the OG reformer, Lutheranism is not the majority of the Protestant world. And being Orthodox myself, I’d argue that Luther maintained a Eucharistic practice that had already diminished. While not typically discussed about the topic, Eucharistic practices was not an insignificant part of why Orthodoxy and Catholicism parted ways 500 years before the Reformation.
      That said, I’m glad not all Protestants have such a low view that would allow Twinkies and Kool-Aid to seem acceptable. And I do agree that while the transfinitely multiplying splinters of denominations is a tragedy (especially since Jesus big prayer before his death is that his followers would be one as he and the Father are one), I also see God’s hand in it. He paints beautiful things with the paintbrushes we break. Because Orthodoxy has such a resistance to change, it sometimes has difficulty reaching people in a world that changes more quickly than quantum fluctuations at the Planck scale. It has a large solid structure, but that makes it hard to get into small niches. Because Protestantism is so splintered, it, like a toothbrush, is able to bring Christ into many cracks and crevices that Orthodoxy wouldn’t be able to reach.

      In my experience, when my 3rd eye was opening I had more sleep paralysis, started seeing my dead ancestors in dreams often, had black hands that grabbed me and haunted my sleep for months: one night in my dream I called out “Jesus Christ” and I woke up in peace. It didn’t hit me yet: Over the coarse of a year I started to read books like holy Quran, enoch and Bible: I almost turned to Islam but when the TH-cam Muslim I was watching got stabbed it made me question, did God let this man get stabbed? So another few months later After I read some verses in the Bible (Old Testament at this point) it hit me that I was wicked according to Holy Bible and that all my life I was offending the Lord. At that moment my spirit truly awakened because at that moment I found out who He really was and I wept and cried and repented. Then over the coarse of more months and more reading I had more dreams but this time these scary things in my dreams were not attacking me anymore but they seemed scared of me! I saw a little boy he looked scared and innocent but I felt in my spirit he was something else: so I tried to say “Jesus Christ” but when I started Je..my whole body was frozen and it hurt to try to say it. But I forced it out even though it hurt me physically to (sleep paralysis) so I forced out is Jesus Christ Lord. And when I said the name the boy turned into some kind of black ugly demonic thing. When I woke up. That’s when I put 2 and 2 together and i was like yea. Jesus is real. And there’s a Bible verse that says, only through Jesus can you come to the Father. Well, that’s how I came to the Holy Word in the first place is through Jesus Name: I never been the same since. I actually changed for the better. I’m not lost anymore. I found the truth and I live in peace finally. No offense to you just letting you know MY experience

      Oh I forgot that from this experience of mine: now I understand why he died for our sins. The meaning is that he died and rose again: so that’s what Happened to me. My spirit died on that day I genuinely repented to God and since then I rose again w a new spirit. I also believe Jesus is the Elect one and he was with God before the creation of the world from the book Enoch: and the Old Testament for shadows him. It was Gods plan all along. Jesus was a man but his spirit was of God and with God . That’s from my understanding after my studies and my experience. We all have a body and we all have a spirit, a soul. And In the Bible also in Ezekiel, the dude saw in 400 bc basically a flying aircraft. (Sounds like a ufo to me) and in the book enoch, he was taken away up to the sky: dude!!! God is really in heaven in outer space somewhere don’t u see?
