I actually really liked this figure the way it came in the package. I thought that's how he was supposed to look. Sort of a mix between classic He-Man and NA He-Man with the blue pants and blaster. Now I want to have both versions. One with the harness and loin cloth and one with the armor and blue pants. I actually got a Vykron for Christmas a few years ago, so I'm tempted. I'd have to buy another He-Ro II figure though, and perhaps another Vykron if I still wanted to display him as well. This was very interesting.
@@spectorcreative1872 I've decided to get another He-Ro II figure since they're relatively cheap now. It would be nice if someone could 3D print that cod piece though.
He-Ro looks a lot like Prime from Malibu comics any idea the time line on this ? anything borrowed from the other or just coincidental? not accusing just wondering.
So in the pitch that evolved into New Adventures, you said He-Ro II has the same armor as He-Man. Would he have worn silver armor like the current toy, or gold armor like actual New Adventures He-Man?
Ok this clears up a lot. I knew about he ro son of he man way before ever finding your channel but I always heard you talk about preternia he ro so I was wondering if I was making up the son of thing. Glad to hear I’m not crazy 😜

Watchmen was designed to be told as a comic, i felt after i read it that it didn't make sense to make the movie. Two very important books.
I love that you fond all the history possible and brought it out for all of us. But I do wonder, was there anything just too obscure or too wild that you found and could not bring into Classics for whatever reason?
Wow, this entire line & future line were meticulously well thought out! Too bad stuff happened that they couldn't be implemented properly. I have no issue w/ reuse of parts (because it tends to save the company money, which can be passed on to us as consumers), so long as it's done in a creative way. Too bad Spector Creative didn't stick around for the entirely of the MOTUC & POP lines for Mattel, because he has some ingenious ideas & tactics on how to implement them.
I wish I could have, but alas the situation changed too much and I had a family to think of. But I appreciate the kind words! It was all done with love
Sorry Scot t I know I asked this before. No worries if you don't remember. But in the link you put in this video Description to the .org thread about this, there's a transcription of the page from this bible that you showed at SDCC on the the 'Icarius or Flipshot' slide. On the first line of the transcription there's a character name that cant quite be made out, something like Madre? Are able to confirm the spelling of this name and give us any details/description about the character please? Thanks.
@@spectorcreative1872 thanks for the reply Scott. The name looks like it has 5 letters though. Maybe an early spelling of Mara similar to the Icarius/Flipshot type thing. I dont suppose you have that one 'Icarius or Flipshot?' silde with the page on do you that you could look at or even post? As the transcript on post #14 on the Org thread was done from a photo someone in the crowd took, so would be great to see it in a better resolution with the text more clear. No worries if not, I'm just fascinated by this SoHM 88 bible is all and cant believe this piece of MOTU history is likely lost forever.

Scott, I would love to see a video in which you give us a list (in your proposed order) of the figures you would have wanted to release in the Classics line had it gone on indefinitely.
I think a big reason it went downhill, at least why it did for me, where I’m pretty sure I stopped collecting after the evil horde were released and didn’t know about other characters like ninjor or scareglow until years later, was if filmation continued making more He-Man episodes, we would have still had an interest in it still. But having seen every episode a million times, we grew bored of it.
@@spectorcreative1872 Awesome! Thanks Scott. I gave my thoughts on the vid itself, but I have to congratulate you on Lady Slither here too! She would have made a fantastic frenemy for King Hiss!

Say Spector Creative you know what I would've done had I been in your position in Mattel? I'd have taken the old comic version of He-man's origin where he was a shepard's son & used it for part of the origin of King Grayskull.
@@spectorcreative1872 Oh good, I'm glad about that. I don't mean to offend anyone who's adopted, but too many times in comics (*cough cough Spiderman cough cough*) the kids get swept away in all sorts of dumb shenanigans (time travel, alternate reality, alternate dimension, ect). It's nice to see one of my heroes grew up and had a family of his own!
I know remember reading somewhere that seemed to hint that the kid may have been the son of - Adora and (edit) Sea Hawk. I think they might've disappeared while pursuing Hordak. Take that with a grain of salt if you will.
Woah, it's like I've been stuck in an alternate universe. Not much motu news reached me the last 20 years. I need to actually finish 2X... Don't judge, life's complicated. These stories sound fun and it's too bad we didn't get more cartoons.
Well, now I know why He-Ro II's design always kind of felt like a mess to me. But to my eyes, the blue harness looks good with the blue pants, it's the gold/tan gloves and tan boots that look weird with the rest of the ensemble.
"My name is Dare, son of He-Man. This is my friend Feathers. Mystical powers were revealed to me the day I held aloft my father's sword and said "By the Legend of GreySkull! I protect the Power!" "Feathers became the fierce BattleBird. I am helped by my closest friends, Sir Laserlot, Mighty Spector, Kayla, and Orko! Together we protect the timeline of Eternia from The Unnamed One and his servants of time! I am He-Ro, and the Masters of Legend!"
@@spectorcreative1872 it's not clean, or edited well, but I thought of the continuing story with new characters mixed with a new premise. Glad you liked my "pitch"!
I always figured dare (series bible1) was the son of keldor and evil lynn dumped in a future and raised by jungle animals who end up moving in with him and pulling filmation level shenanigans. and is a biter (marvel also gave He-man a son but he looked like man at arms more than adam and teela never told him of his parentage and neither did adam) theres also adora and sea hawks brat (the mouse fears him you know small kids and small obkects right?) and eventually would need to fight his mom as other dare would need to fight skeletor who figures out what evil lynn did and laugh at the irony of his son becoming a successor to he-man any concolation if I got this I would put the silver armor on and just keep it that way)
Zero thoughts. I hate him and he would just be a reminder of NA and we’d all love nothing more than to forget that God awful show as much as wishing they never gave us NA figures in motuc.
A correction on the Flash characters. The Flash characters are not designated as "Flash I", "Flash II", "Flash III". They are called by their "Real Names". Jay Garrick, Barry Allen, Wally West, so on. Among fans the names are so common they don't say "The Flash" when talking about one of these Flash characters. They are treated to some extent as if they were part of a team, or "The Flash Family", or as if "The Flash" was a title. The timelines/multi-verse/lack of a multiverse are complicated and changing enough that it's difficult to say "The Second Flash" let alone "Flash II" since in-world there may or may not have been a Barry Allen at any time.
You keep saying ”He-Ro Son of He-Man” as 80s thing where he is Dare the adopted son. But that came in 1996. (From Lou Scheimer Productions. Not Mattel in 80s)
What I wouldn't give for at least an extra wave dedicated to these SOH characters, good and evil ones cleverly mixed up. The saddest part in all of this hibernation thing regarding Classics is that it definitely killed the fun for me. So much that I didn't even celebrate my Snake Mountain arrival the way it deserves. The flame got extinguished, for good. 😑 OnlyOneSkeletor
I found it weird they decided to change New Adventures from being about He-Man's son taking place in a future era to being about He-Man being sent to said future era. That plot point really confuses me and I would have preferred He-Ro II to be the main character
200X, MOTUC mini comics, and Masters of the Multiverse (some sort of sexual relationship between Anti-Keldor and Evil-Lyn was implied, but romantically he was implied to be with Beast Man).
Humm...villains like Hack-Kore, Evil Master Of Machines. Tin Grin, Evil Master Of The Bite. Shad Dal, Evil Master Of Shadows. Snake Mountain Man, Evil Golem Of Snake Mountain.

Ever notice, how Prime from Malibu Comics looks almost identical to He-Ro?
I never did, but now I can't not
I actually really liked this figure the way it came in the package.
Well, glad the packout look was still a hit.
Not the first to bring this up but I honestly don't know!
So in the pitch that evolved into New Adventures, you said He-Ro II has the same armor as He-Man.
Would he have worn silver armor like the current toy, or gold armor like actual New Adventures He-Man?
Silver
Ok this clears up a lot. I knew about he ro son of he man way before ever finding your channel but I always heard you talk about preternia he ro so I was wondering if I was making up the son of thing. Glad to hear I’m not crazy 😜
If anyone here is crazy it is clearly me
is there a comic that continues this story ?
What happens to He-ro 1 after He-ro 2 returns to his time ?
He keeps fighting the good fight. See issue 1 of the MOTUC mini comics
So the question is, if you could manage MOTU Brand again, would you?
Would you continue MOTUC with added articulation or make a whole new line (like the new 7 inch one coming soon)
If I was still running (or asked to help) on MOTU I would bring back Classics as a combo of never before done figures and core characters with new head sculpts and updated articulation and accessories
Michael Moore will watch The Watchmen in his upcoming documentary called "Who Watches the Watchmen? Michael Moore".
Yeah. oops.
Sir,, do you think they will do He-Ro, and He-Ro II, Dare and his bird in Origins?
It all depends on if kids get into the Origins line or not
@@spectorcreative1872 thank you for replying. You are a man of your word. Rare in the TH-cam world. Just one more if you don't mind. Do you feel this will be a success? I saw your video about buying one for a kid ect. But some of us can't do that. I wish I could. I can barely afford one figure a month (gotta love being furloughed). So what do you think sir? I really truly believe the Netflix show will help sells bigtime and will hopefully get us all the way to a Snake Mountain, Fright Zone, even an Eternia playset!!!! Could you imagine a Eternia after so many of us could never afford it as a child! So do you think it'll go great? And when is the Netflix shows coming out (that's me the one question. My apologies. But thank you if to could respond)?
as an 80s kids, 200x was my Motu series, i think the time leap was just right, got their figures as well..
Glad you liked!
I really need to track down the comics and i know I want an encyclopedia and art books for sure.
Watchmen was designed to be told as a comic, i felt after i read it that it didn't make sense to make the movie. Im all about expanding franchises and packing my wallet but watchmen, just didn't feel like it was supposed to go there. Figures yes though!! Gimme gimme, V for vendetta too. Two very important books.
DC needs ot do a trade of all of these!
I love that you fond all the history possible and brought it out for all of us. But I do wonder, was there anything just too obscure or too wild that you found and could not bring into Classics for whatever reason?
We really tried to use everything. If I can think of any good ones that might be a good video to itself!
In my canon on my shelf, Dare, He-Ro II is the son of Princess Adora and Sea Hawk, raised on Eternia by He-Man and Teela.
Nice

"Probably nothing important"
I still cry about it. And UI did clearly label it too!
Thanks.
I'm guessing Mara from New Adventures. All the New Adventures figures were in this bible
So by the end He-ro is Adams son?
Crazy
Yes. Him and Teela
@@spectorcreative1872 that’s crazy
I like Skeletos better as a carry on name than skeletene lol
That kinda reminds me of the Zartan,
Zarana, Zandar carry on
So in a sense the story Hero morphs into the new he man and skeletene with mask, kinda leads the way for Keldor
It’s like creation in reverse lol
:-)
I assume Mattel didn’t allow back up copies of the now lost He-Ro bible to be made to prevent such an accident, I suppose not allowing copies in order to protect their IP.
Plus really bad record keeping
Great vid and very informative one, since i do not like The New Adventures of He-man way back when i was a kid it didnt have that luck luster appeal on me,but the He-ro of preternia man that i was dying to know more on i really want to have the insight on how it started 😅,from snakemen to horde, dinosaurs giants of preternia its really kinda cool for me, anf of course i almost forgot that techno organic virus hehehhehe cant recall if that was from hordeprime doing
I"ll do a video all about the techno organic virus and it's effect on Eternia soon
So, I’m gonna ask (sorry), what are your feelings on what Keven Smith has done with or to HE-MAN?
I’ve done multiple videos on this! Check the latest uploads!
@@spectorcreative1872 Ah, thank you.
I love to think about what could have happened to the MOTU Universe if it had lasted for a few more years after '87.
But having seen every episode a million times, we grew bored of it.
here you go:

@@spectorcreative1872 Awesome! Thanks Scott. I gave my thoughts on the vid itself, but I have to congratulate you on Lady Slither here too! She would have made a fantastic frenemy for King Hiss!
Really enjoy these videos, but would love them getting to the point faster
So noted! I appreciate the feedback and will work on that!
Of all the things to get lost, it was the thing that people seemed to question the existence of the most
And my mind
As someone who ended up buying 3 Vikors to get all the looks for display, I would have been a little annoyed at having to get a 4th one to give Hero-II his barbarian look, to be honest considering until it got "clearanced out" was an expensive figure. I'm kind of glad they messed up the packaging. I wasn't a big fan of the New Adventures He-Man armor TBH anyway. Now New Adventures Teela would have been pretty sweet to see, and I love the New Adventures She-ra you guys did, although I wish she'd come with a helmet-less head.
So we actually had planned on having NA She-Ra come with a true She Ra maskl;ess head but it got cut due to cost
@@spectorcreative1872 That really was too bad. She was a gorgeous figure and the extra head would have accentuated it.
Where did the image of King He-Man sitting like Conan come from?
It is fan art!
I like the blue armor blue pants. A "newer" He-ro you'd think would wear pants especially if it takes place after NA.
Hey, everyone looks better in pants
Been watching 200X and the figures for that show would have been pretty awesome. The Moss Man is pretty awesome and he is an awesome character in the show. This video was a bit too long and I got lost.
I try to keep them as short as possible. I'll keep this feedback in mind going forward
What do you think of DC and Motu injustice crossover
I dug it.
Why did Classic's not have the Dinosaur's. Like Bionatops?
Too much 1 time tooling
@@spectorcreative1872 Bionatops was to much tooling yet. Beast man's Griffin was made. And Battle Lion. But Bionatops would have been to much Tooling. no.
and once again I say that's what I like about the line. Take what could have been and make it so. This video got me to thinking. Ok. You say running out of characters to do. So if a second modern day create a figure contest wasn't an option why not create some new one's in house? Was it because the Masters line was a side project and not y our main job?
We did create new ones in house. Lady Slithor is one example!
@@spectorcreative1872 oh. oops. My bad. Didn't know.
Love your show! Do you ever think about going back to Toy making?
Glad you enjoy! And I never left. ;-) I now consult with toy companies through Spectorcreative.com and I will be launching my own line of product later this year!
@@spectorcreative1872 will it be collector oriented or like for kids?
Ty for trying to keep he man alive so to speak
WE did try!
Interesting, indeed!
Okay, I'm running out to my MOTUC stands and going to change HE-RO the way his is supposed to look... Wish me luck ! AAaah!
Nice. And thank you
Wow I wish they went kept with the original plans it would have been awesome
WE can only dream
Scott, what I’m hearing from all of this is that you should never have left Mattel. Hahaha
If that had match Jakks' offer, I would have been glad to.

Prior to this video, I got my first toy ad on your channel. Rainbow High, FTW! 🌈🥴
Nice! Toys sponsor toys
Say Spector Creative you know what I would've done had I been in your position in Mattel? I'd have taken the old comic version of He-man's origin where he was a shepard's son & used it for part of the origin of King Grayskull.
Hey a valid story as well and part of why their is now a Masters-verse
You were the Jack Kirby (as far as design and content ideas) of Classics.
That is a huge compliment!
I'm so disappointed I missed out on the Classics line.
You are not the only one
So, Adam had an adopted son...
I'm sure Teela was happy to have such a chaste husband.
Well in the MOTUC line it was Teela and Adam's biological son
@@spectorcreative1872 Oh good, I'm glad about that. I don't mean to offend anyone who's adopted, but too many times in comics (*cough cough Spiderman cough cough*) the kids get swept away in all sorts of dumb shenanigans (time travel, alternate reality, alternate dimension, ect). It's nice to see one of my heroes grew up and had a family of his own!
@@spectorcreative1872 so then is Fisto or Man-At-Arms his Uncle?
I know remember reading somewhere that seemed to hint that the kid may have been the son of - Adora and (edit) Sea Hawk. I think they might've disappeared while pursuing Hordak. Take that with a grain of salt if you will.
@@Goldenbane Don't forget what happened with Jon when Bendis took over the Superman book. The left hates the nuclear family.
I notice that the Kay-La character has a cross on her badge that looks exactly like He-man's.
Yup. Logos are used to link characters together.
Woah, it's like I've been stuck in an alternate universe. Not much motu news reached me the last 20 years. I need to actually finish 2X... Don't judge, life's complicated. These stories sound fun and it's too bad we didn't get more cartoons.
Oh I am so for more 200X!
Well, now I know why He-Ro II's design always kind of felt like a mess to me. But to my eyes, the blue harness looks good with the blue pants, it's the gold/tan gloves and tan boots that look weird with the rest of the ensemble.
The pack out still kills me!
Fun Fact: Alan Moore cringes every time he watches Bowling For Columbine!
What a slip of the tongue!
You stolen my line!
Looks cool 👍🏽
Truly it could have been
it was called Eternal Sword Of Champions how it became The Black sword Eater Of Souls. sounds Like Samrai story s way of the Sword & eho control s it
"My name is Dare, son of He-Man. This is my friend Feathers. Mystical powers were revealed to me the day I held aloft my father's sword and said "By the Legend of GreySkull! I protect the Power!"
"Feathers became the fierce BattleBird. I am helped by my closest friends, Sir Laserlot, Mighty Spector, Kayla, and Orko! Together we protect the timeline of Eternia from The Unnamed One and his servants of time! I am He-Ro, and the Masters of Legend!"
Oh if only!
@@spectorcreative1872 it's not clean, or edited well, but I thought of the continuing story with new characters mixed with a new premise. Glad you liked my "pitch"!
I always figured dare (series bible1) was the son of keldor and evil lynn dumped in a future and raised by jungle animals who end up moving in with him and pulling filmation level shenanigans. and is a biter (marvel also gave He-man a son but he looked like man at arms more than adam and teela never told him of his parentage and neither did adam) theres also adora and sea hawks brat (the mouse fears him you know small kids and small obkects right?) and eventually would need to fight his mom as other dare would need to fight skeletor who figures out what evil lynn did and laugh at the irony of his son becoming a successor to he-man
any concolation if I got this I would put the silver armor on and just keep it that way)
While their was some speculation about this, non of the vintage story bibles went in this direction
@@spectorcreative1872 well funny is he comes back from space and discovers he has a kid he could develop like the marvel version
I love the design of SkeleTeen. Really wish I had a figure of that. What were/are your thoughts on putting that one forward?

Yes, but in licensor kits and in the industries this is how the names are used (just FYI). But you do bring up a great point
im sure some1 else pointed this out but...
alan moore not michael moore

Yup. Someone else did point that out! oops
Matel. Was realy Reading into Slot of lore mostly A lot of Michael moorcock stories &. Conan And Tarzan. novels
Now you got me hitting eBay to look for a Vikron body. 😑. 😂😂😂.
Whoah whoah whoah....that "Yoda's Dagobah Pencil Sharpener" had potential.
It should've been the "Flash Gordon's Wood Beast Challenge Pencil Sharpener" instead.
Hear that Hasbro, make it happen!
You keep saying ”He-Ro Son of He-Man” as 80s thing where he is Dare the adopted son. But that came in 1996. (From Lou Scheimer Productions. Not Mattel in 80s)
True dat
By the power of He-man! I am He-ro! Lols awesome!
It is isn't it?
Wasn't the name "He-Ro" a bit too generic? Like naming a character "Army Solider."
Or Joe Everyman
What I wouldn't give for at least an extra wave dedicated to these SOH characters, good and evil ones cleverly mixed up. The saddest part in all of this hibernation thing regarding Classics is that it definitely killed the fun for me. So much that I didn't even celebrate my Snake Mountain arrival the way it deserves. The flame got extinguished, for good. 😑 OnlyOneSkeletor
Oh me too!
I found it weird they decided to change New Adventures from being about He-Man's son taking place in a future era to being about He-Man being sent to said future era. That plot point really confuses me and I would have preferred He-Ro II to be the main character
Yeah it could have been much different
The canon origin of He-Ro is that he is King Adam's nephew, the son of Adora and Sea Hawk!!
Actually, the canon is he is Adam and Teela's biological kid. See the MOTUC mini comic # 6
not anymore :0
2016, while had some good figures but in ur absence, the bios and the mini comics really suffered: no bios and inconsistent issues, shame.

Yes, in the MOTUC mini comics and 200X TV show.
I'm reading this comment, and glancing at He-Man's shocked face from the video thumbnail. It seems appropriate.
