May I make a suggestion? Find a suggestion designated spot for cardboard. Put your tool there that you use to breakdown the cardboard right there do it is handy. Maybe right inside the garage door would be a good spot for the flattened cardboard? Attach the breakdown tool to the wall.

We nailed up 2x4s sideways up on the wall to hang lawn tools from(like rakes, shovels etc. Put nails in the 2x4 to hang the lawn tools from(shovels have two nails so they sit on top of the nails).
