    I don't think I ever forgave the writers for doing this. They killed Robin and I cried the first hundred times I watched that scene and my heart still aches for her. Regina came so far and just after he promised her his future they kill him sorry, no obliterate him. I want to love this episode but damn man they really only gave Regina 2 seconds of happiness. I agree with you on the Rumple/Belle situation, that ass-wipe really doesn't deserve her.

    My least favourite thing about season 5 is how it felt like every storyline or character introduced this season completely dropped from existence after it ended. Where as past seasons. We would *at least* have one character make a return or even become a main in the next season.

      Honestly i liked it. She got what she deserved. After killing so many fmailies, raping people, seperating families, Killing villages. She deserved to feel what she inflicted on others

    • @DucktorDoom
      @DucktorDoom 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@youtuber2646 I find this line of reasoning so funny because 'you deserve to feel what was inflicted on me' was literally Regina's thought process when she was evil. She already felt what she inflicted on others! That's why she did it! She herself was abused, raped, and saw a loved one be murdered in front of her, so she lashed out at the world that let it happen. Her happy ending was stolen so she stole other people's. This revenge-driven mindset is rightfully called out as wrong by the show, yet some fans seem to think it's morally acceptable if it's aimed at Regina.

    • @youtuber2646
      @youtuber2646 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@DucktorDoom what she felt was nothing compared to what she did to other people not even 1 percent of it. Robin's death was fate's way of playing itself out. Even Robin's death obviously wasn't enough either but that's fine cause regina slowly changed, even though she never appologized to anyone but whatever

    I was so mad that they brought Hook back. I never liked him all that much, but his sacrifice in the last episode really worked for me. Then he just comes back and Emma learns zero lessons about letting go after all. Meanwhile Regina gets screwed over again. Wtf?

    • @rcelenza1D
      @rcelenza1D 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Honestly Regina deserves to be screwed over after all the pain, terror & trauma she’s caused to people for decades. Getting screwed over consistently are consequences to her own consistent bad actions.

    • @DucktorDoom
      @DucktorDoom 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Agreed. This storyline is thematically bizarre. Every other time someone on this show has tried to revive a loved one, the message has been that letting go and grieving is the healthy option (which is also just common sense lol). But for some reason Hook gets to come back. The narrative essentially rewards Emma and Hook for their unhealthy decisions, and they learn nothing. As you say: wtf?

    • @DucktorDoom
      @DucktorDoom 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@rcelenza1D And Hook never terrorized anyone for centuries as a pirate? And Emma didn't terrorize her own family just this season? And Snow and Charming haven't kidnapped the occasional baby here and there? And we didn't literally just see Arthur get '''redeemed''' and rewarded after all the awful things he did? C'mon. Everyone on this show has done bad stuff. Regina's the only one who gets screwed over this consistently, even before she did anything bad at all. And Robin's certainly not done anything that warrants his soul being obliterated. I find Robin terminally dull and even I think that's harsh.
      And I fail to see how losing Robin is a consequence to anything Regina's done when she literally did nothing to put him in this position. That was all Hades, Zelena, Emma, Hook, and Robin himself (gasp! he has his own agency!). Losing Henry in S2 was a consequence of Regina's actions in S1. Losing Robin is a consequence of Regina being a character who the writers find compelling to put through trauma. (Not saying they're wrong. But. Y'know.)

    • @rcelenza1D
      @rcelenza1D 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DucktorDoom I am not saying that the other characters have not also committed awful acts. They all deserve consequences to their actions. In this case I am comparing Emma & Regina in terms of their lost loves. Emma only terrorized people last season for a short period, in comparison to Regina who terrorized people for over 30 years. They screw with her characters because she has screwed with many people for a long time. Hook deserved to die for his crimes while Robin most certainly did not. In terms of Regina, she did deserve to suffer in such a way because I'm sure that she has killed many people's loves.

    • @MarieAnne.
      @MarieAnne. 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DucktorDoom I have no idea how you can even compare what Regina has done to what Emma has done. This just makes no sense.
      I hate that Robin died, but it does make sense as a consequence for Regina's actions. I'll repeat what I said in an earlier post: I see it as a second chance for Regina to truly redeem herself. She has an opportunity to take this situation and rise above it, unlike the first time with Daniel.

I remember tears streaming down my face as I yelled at the tv and being so pissed when hook came back I thought it was so unfair that I continued yelling at the tv even when the episode was over for about 30 minutes god I was so pissed still am. You know typings this it feels very dramatic but that’s how I felt.

    You may not believe in the power of redemption as much as the show does but I think Arthur deserves a shot at reforming the Underworld. More than the romance and twists on fairy tales, this show is about hope. Everyone (even Gold who's objectively worse than Arthur) deserves an opportunity to better themselves and find their happy ending.
    BTW there's a followup DVD extra called "A Knight with Cruella" that wraps up some dangling threads from this season.

    • @lombax316
      @lombax316 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@altinaykor364 But that's just it. That wasn't his redemption. If it was, then he would've also ascended to the heavens with Hook. His path towards redemption was just beginning with the potential eons he would spend reforming the Underworld.

      @@altinaykor364 Did you even read my response? I never said kissing up to CaptainSwan redeemed Arthur. I guess I have to say once again that Arthur's redemption is yet to come by undertaking his new path of reforming the Underworld. We even see in the bonus "A Knight with Cruella" that 50 years later and he's still in the Underworld working to redeem himself and save the souls trapped there. His is a long journey to ever making up for what he's done but I think it noteworthy he's actually putting in the effort to do better.

    im rewatching these reactions after having watched the show a million times,,, the first few time i was pretty sad robin was offed but glad hook was brought back cause #captainswan
    after a couple rewatches i was still upset over robin's death cause he was so underused and roland being left an orphan not to mention another heartbreak for regina. however i started to feel iffy abt bringing back killian cause it removes the stakes of death and undoes all the character growth for others cause by it. every other character has had to let go of the past and move on except for emma in this instance.
    Now ive grown to the conclusion that it was lowkey the right decision to kill off robin (i do wish they did more with his character and we got more of reginaXroland) cause this is regina's biggest and final test of morality to check if she's actually grown and changed for the better or if she'd only do good as long as her life was the way she wanted it to be. Plus, they should have definitely killed off killian (bring him back for s7 cause wth why not) but from this point onward they could have TOTALLYYYY made #SWANQUEEN happen cause they're SO OBVIOUSLY each other's soulmates and henry is both of their true love. the perfect lil family.

    In my previous episode's comment I talked about this show doing what actual fairy tales do: teaching morality and cautionary tales. Robin's death is her morality tale and our hope (the main theme of the series) being tested on whether or not she'll remain a good guy.
