- In December we had the luxury to attend an Bhartiya wedding that took place in Gujarat. It was truly one of the most magnificent and unique experiences of our lives.
Thank you Preksha for having us!
A lot of things are done so differently in India and weddings are no exception. Starting from the clothes that people wear to celebrations and fuctions that happen during weddings - it was truly amazing to see and a blessing to be immersed in such diversity.
I don't think I have ever seen that much colour in one place! I didn't know what to focus on, I had a hard time soaking in everything at once.
This wedding was just a highlight from our trip to Bharat so more videos are yet to come. See you in the next video from this amazing journey through Gujarat, India.
#india #bharat
All the information I gathered for the video I did on my own so I apologize for potentially confusing the meaning of something.

In Hinduism, the rites of passage or "sanskars" are considered important rituals that mark key stages in an individual's life. There are traditionally 16 sanskars in total, including marriage. Here is the list:
1. **Garbhadhana** - Conception
2. **Pumsavana** - Fetus protection
3. **Simantonnyana** - Baby shower, parting of hair
4. **Jatakarma** - Childbirth ceremony
5. **Namakarana** - Naming ceremony
6. **Nishkramana** - First outing
7. **Annaprashana** - First feeding of solid food
8. **Chudakarana** (or **Mundan**) - First haircut
9. **Karnavedha** - Ear piercing
10. **Vidyarambha** - Beginning of education
11. **Upanayana** - Sacred thread ceremony, initiation
12. **Vedarambha** - Start of Vedic studies
13. **Samavartana** - Graduation ceremony
14. **Vivaha** - Marriage
15. **Vanaprastha** - Retirement, forest-dweller stage
16. **Antyeshti** (or **Antyesti**) - Funeral rites
These sanskars serve as milestones throughout a Hindu's life, from conception to funeral, encapsulating cultural values and religious beliefs.

@@aleksandrapekala YOU ARE A FAIRYTALE PRINCESS 👸❤️
Indian weddings mean families and generations coming together to make the day unforgettable for the couple👩❤️👨 and those in attendance. Every ritual and every mantra works to strengthen the love❤ shared by the couple and the families involved. An Indian groom typically wears a turban with a veil of flowers to protect him from evil spirits🧿. The parents give the bride away🙌, but they do not eat before the wedding to remain pure for the occasion. The bride's saree is tied to the groom's scarf to symbolize the union of the souls. Is called aa Our Bharat🫶. Jai Hind Jai Bharat🇮🇳.

It's beautiful mustard yellow hue is auspicious in Indian tradition representing a life of prosperity for the couple about to begin their new life together. A common reason why Haldi is used for this ceremony is to rid the couple of Buri Nazar, the Sanskrit term for evil eye.

Dear Aleksandra,
In India, marriage is a very responsible task; every parent wants their son or daughter to marry with pomp and ceremony. I liked that you were on an Indian visit and exploring Indian culture. I hope you will stay here for some more time because if you want to explore India, you must visit 28 states.
Every state has different customs of marriage. Finally, one more thing that you should take care of yourself and stay safe in your India tour plan. In India, the weather and climate vary from state to state.
Yes, I've heard it! Maybe one day I can attend one again

There is a documentary about Indian maharaja who adopted nearly about 1000 polish childrens who became orphans during WW1 or 2 i guess. He was a strict Hindu but he made church for them and a different polish library so that they can learn their mother language and stay connected to their roots. All the childrens live their whole life in royalty. He's known as 'the good maharaja' in Poland, you can research about him.
I know this history, it’s very interesting!
