The Smart Core is aimbot, but it only targets one enemy at a time, going for Pilots, then Titans, then AI. It's wide so that if an enemy pilot in multiplayer suddenly jumps into view, they'll get picked off instantly, and also so that as soon as Legion has finished off one enemy, he can begin attacking another enemy instantly.

After looking how the core works it looks like it's doing no type of damage. Doesnt make sense to aim for that wide a field.
