Tzatziki is made with four ingredients: yogurt, cucumbers, garlic, oil (olive oil, corn oil or soybean oil), five spoons of soup and salt. Grate the cucumber on the coarse part of the cheese grater after washing it first, (with or without the skin), squeeze it between your hands to remove the liquid and put it in a bowl, add as much yogurt as you want with all the fat if possible. Melt garlic as much as we want, add salt and oil, mix and it's ready. We leave it in the fridge for half an hour and it's ready ✨

In Texas, we always flip our high beams to warn oncoming traffic that there is a sheriff or cop. I use to think it was weird how friendly people are here, but now I love it. I went to Greece 3 years ago, and yes they do put fries in their gyros. They pretty much serve fries with everything. I even seen it served during breakfast, lol.

Spanakopita is so time consuming to make. Layers of phyllo dough each brushed with olive oil.l ( or so that’s how I was taught to make them from my yiayia) We also make the cheese version which is called tiropita. Same concept of egg & spinach except it’s cheese & egg instead. So so so good.
Yes and phyllo dough is very delicate it could rip very easily 😂😭

And probably, the reason why your grandma also makes “something similar” to Spanakopita is because Armenians, Turks and Greeks lived together during the Ottoman period, so we share a lot of the dishes/food. (Your grandma probably makes some kind of Borek/burek- bc spinach and cheese is so typical of Borek)
We all have different names for them now but the deliciousnessss remains same 🤤🤤
