Great video as always. I look forward to watching your videos and have learned some good tips even though I’ve been riding and working on bikes for 30odd years. I have a 2022 yz250 At 3hrs a crank bearing failed. On strip down found the cases were too tight on the crank and caused the premature failure. She’s back together now with genuine parts and ready to rip. 👍🏻👍🏻 Looking forward to the cylinder swap out
Thanks man and thanks for watching! Your 22 YZ250 ...what the heck, how did the cases end up too tight on the crank bearings and also curious how you corrected it. The 22 motor is identical to the 2021 motor right? I would think they would have all the machining and assembly down to the science . strange
@@UpAllNight91 yeah it locked up during an enduro at 3hrs. Flywheel side crank bearing failed. It spun on the crank and welded itself to the shaft. Had to carefully cut the bearing off and managed to save the crank. The shop pressed back together. When I say 2022 yz250, the bike is actually a 2022 Fantic XX250. The use the yam chassis and engine although the crank bearings were koyo in this motor. Genuine yam bearings went back in it along with genuine yam A size piston. While it was apart I put the yz250x 3rd,4th and 5th gears in there
@@Benjihypermoto Wow, good job saving the crank. Takes a steady hand to get bearings off when they are welded on like that (without damaging the crank). I never hear of the xx250, just googled it, looks cool. They said it comes with a different piston than stock. Wonder how the piston is different?. So you went to the close ratio YZ trans, nice! I went ahead and ordered a wiseco racers elite piston with my new cylinder. After some thinking on it I am hoping the longer skirt on the racers elite piston will help save this next cylinder.
@@UpAllNight91 I’ve not heard of the elite piston before but I’ll check that out for next time. Yeah this stock piston was not much different to be honest, maybe a little like a wossner but I had a tiny chip on a corner of the skirt so made sense to fit a new one. Looking forward to your next video. Always learn something new. Every day a school day
Hopefully early next week. I dont like my bike sitting apart lol. As soon as that race piston arrives. I already have the cylinder. Will probably send the old damaged cylinder out to be replated and keep her on the shelf incase this ever happens again
i just rebuilt my whole engine in my bike, your videos helped me helped a lot during that went in very stressed forgot to righted the bolt that goes into the crank on the clutch side and it flew out cracked my case, but i got that fixed and now i’m back to ripping, it’s off though because i didn’t mess with carb or mix ratio or anything but now i’m getting black stuff coming out the pipe, i did add a new shorty too it so maybe that’s why but who knows, you got any information about that? i ride a 2007 yz125
The black out the pipe can sometimes just be from riding her too easy at a given oil fuel ratio. I may do a video on ratios and jetting here shortly. I think I will actually
@@ghostrt1608 😃 too cool man! I wanted that shirt so bad but unfortunately they where out of my size (large). And recently I don't even see the shirts or hats listed on ebay anymore. Would you happen to have a link to them if they are still around?
Hey brother For wiseco two stroke forged pistons, did i hear you right? The ring gap is already set for these pistons? Just got my top end kitt for my 01 YZ250 Thanks
Yes as long as its a stock nickel plated cylinder its plug and play. Just put the piston and rings in and you will be good. But if the cylinder has a iron sleev bore then I would suggest checking to be safe
can you show how to remove a flywheel weight on these bikes? I have 2 yz250's that both have them from previous owner, cant find any way on youtube to get them off
Oh man, cant say I ever removed one and honestly have no experience with that. But you can always buy a good used on on ebay and then sell the weighted one on ebay for your money back. Probably can get good money for the weighted ones
decallab.com/ is where I order them from. Send them a email and ask for a link showing all the different graphics they offer for your make and model. There will be well over 100 different designs in there. From there after you pick one then you can customize it any way you like for no addition cost.
You have the best knowledge of these weapons and i thank you from Australia, i recently brought a yz250 07 model and it didn't run when i brought it but thanks to your knowledge its now a beast and runs like a gem but fukn hard to tame😅 im getting ready to do the top end just so i know its done right but stuck on whst size piston. I dont wana take it apart just to measure it i just want to order the thing 😩 How are people sending you cash? Fuk i wana send some to ya
Hello. Looks like you found the donation button. Thanks brother!!! Glad to hear these videos have helped you. Piston size. If it is stock nickle plated cylinder bore then a stock size piston will work. But if you are not sure you can simply drain the coolant and remove just the cylinder head to measure the cylinder bore before ordering a piston.
Thank you for your advice mate. I took the day off work so I can measure the cylinder bore and order a piston ect, I'm just nervous that once I start I'll measure the crank and the thing will be greater than 2mm 😮then it's a new crank lol I tell ya I'm going to end up having this thing like brand new. Who ever taught you this skill is amazing you blokes are a dying breed old school mechanics are hard to find thank you
@@BenSimmons-x5k Thanks man! LoL, I feel ya you might dig in and need to go further. But you might get in there and find things are prime! Thanks for the Paypal donation, greatly appreciated!
@UpAllNight91 no worries mate your advice is worth it's weight in gold. I've just realised American's think our Aussie dollar is weird so I'll make sure to send a decent amount, maybe enough for some grips, or whatever u wish lol I'm sure I'll be asking another question in a few days, no need to reply if u dont wana, I'll still tip ya 😉

Thanks again!!!!
