I have the blue scale one. Love the Stormhowl Civivi. The textured handles are amazing.
I love the texture on the aluminum handle. I think it could be more functional if the lines ran vertically, it would offer more grip in hand and it would also be easier going in and out of the pocket. Either way it’s so much better than smooth aluminum scales imo. Also there are people in the middle of everything has to be purely functional and a show knife for collectors. I personally will only buy knives I’m going to use but I’m also willing to pay more for it to look really nice. A really nice looking knife that’s been used and abused looks awesome imo, the imperfections give it more character. For me my line is around the $200-$300 range but I have no problem with more expensive knives being collected or used.

Generally civivis come shaving sharp from the factory in my experience
Lately I feel over 30 dollars and it stay in my knife box as jewelry my hf Gordon is my daily beater it likes cardboard and wood lol
I freaking love the Damascus on that, but I think that has to be the ugliest red color I've ever seen. I'd think it may be just how it renders on my phone, but I've seen multiple pics of it on websites, and a couple videos and it looks bad in all of them. It's almost like a mix of red and orange or something. Really wish they made that in a different handle color, because the knife seems awesome.
I kinda like this one! Seems like Civivi is definitely stepping up their Damascus a bit too at least on finishing. Honestly though, the name feels like overkill. Like it's fairly classy looking and nice NOPE!! STORMHOWL!! 😂
They have a new fixed blade called the Stormridge, so must be a new line. The fixed blade is Nitro V and kind of looks like the Spartan Harsey Clandestina... looks cool.
Odd ask: Any chance you would be willing to do a video commenting on Kyle Royer's work? I'm thinking about this from the perspective of introducing your audience to what the top end of the spectrum looks like.

Their new Damascus is really nice, just not as lustrous as their old version. I recently got the button-lock Praxis with it and was surprised how different it looked. Some of the most annoying videos are all these people making "Damascus" from random crap they find...

A screwdriver isn't for cutting? This coming from the guy who uses a railroad spike to open packages. Come on now who's kidding who. The right tool for the job is the tool you choose to put in your hand when you choose to perform the task. Some tools work better than others. Knives make pretty good screwdrivers at the right time, And railroad spikes make pretty good knives.
