This is super cool. On another note, I’m really surprised these guys got away with some of the things they are saying/encouraging in 83 Japan. Look it up, these guys must have had some DGAF Balls...
"kanji title" hahaaaa... in the mp3 blog days, when i was in high school/college (mid to late 2000s) i knew a little japanese & would download as much japanese crust punk/d beat/80s & 90s hardcore as i could (paid subscriptions to rapidshare & megaupload, at least mediafire let you download unlimited files simultaneously for free..) & whenever i got [Japanese title] in the mp3 tags i would pore over the low quality scan of the low quality printed cover of the cassette or flexi disc or whatever with a kanji radical dictionary & find all the characters needed to properly tag them so i could reupload to soulseek... that was at least 15 hard drives ago unfortunately, id do just about anything to have them all back, but i put in dozens of hours of work on those tags!! i hope theyre still floating around soulseek somewhere, ive gotten too lazy (& too poor to keep that much hard drive space) to maintain my music library locally so i just slum it with youtube or soundcloud & spotify *spits*
First of all thank you for your service. Streaming has sort of killed archiving, but these days we see more content getting booted off streaming platforms and tucked behind paywalls. Archiving is becoming necessary again. Even on days when the internet is down it's good to have locally stored media. It's certainly worth collecting just to have stuff in the event these corps cut off access. Anyway, cheers!
Look at the first comment 🤦♂️ Are people really too stupid to understand that hardcore IS punk? You don't know what Japanese hardcore is and try to school everyone, embarrassing. Long live Japanese hardcore! Gauze, Kuro, Confuse, SOB, Warsore, Disclose, Bastard, Lip Cream, GISM, Aburadako, Crow! Banzai!
Are you gen Z or something? Do you not understand that hardcore IS punk? Punk is a spectrum and an overlying genre. When I talk about hardcore, I am not talking about the boring metallic division that sounds like anticlimactic death metal with shouted vocals, but there is also plenty of excellent metal infused punk. Hardcore, crossover, crust, crustcore, anarchopunk, ska punk, surf punk, thrashcore, fastcore, ska punk, skacore, Oi!, thrashcore, pogo punk, street punk, 77/classic punk, D beat/discore, noisecore, grindcore; ALL subgenres of punk. Wanting every shade of punk to fall strictly under one label and conform to a singular sound because you like it and find it easier, and don't have a refined enough taste to tell the difference or interest to care...that sounds pretty square and trendy/conformist, dude. You are tonedeaf. And you have very specific stylings of hardcore (punk) besides the afformentioned; West Coast HC, Swedish HC, Finnish HC, Italian HC, JAPANESE HC or Japcore as they used to call it (probably not anymore), krautcore or German HC, DC hardcore... You are just not a purveyor, and it ain't your thing. Here is a ridiculous list of PUNK bands that are punk despite sounding very distinct from one another and all over the board: INFEST, Conflict, Blitz, Agnostic Front, Siege, Arse Destroyer, Cock Sparrer, Septic Death, The Business, Lärm, Rupture, Destroy!, Rudimentary Peni, Excrement Of War, Spazz, Capitalist Casualties, The Casualties, Defiance, Gorilla Biscuits, Gauze, NOFX, No Comment, No Comply, Slapshot, MDC, Ratos De Porao, Intifada, Oi Polloi, The Virus, Dead Cops, Poison Idea, The Templars, Lack Of Interest, The Adicts, Restarts, Detestation, Millencolin, Remission, Romantic Gorilla, Krigshot, FEAR, Bombs Of Death, Burned Up Bled Dry, TSOL, Con(F)use, Crucifix, Gauze, Kuro, Grimple, Nausea, DooM, Axiom, Sham 69, Skitsystem, Extreme Noise Terror, Logical Nonsense, Brainoil, The Degenerats, The Mentors, Mankind?, Blatz, Flight 800 ApplE, Armistice, The 86ed, Ultimate Warriors, Conflict, Warzone, His Hero Is Gone, Cringer, Negazione, Raw Power, Subhumans, Scathed, No Le$$, Los Crudos, Code 13, Charles Bronson, Antischism, SOB, Discharge, Remission, Misfits, DRI, Bad Brains, DI, The Obliterated, Varukers, Antiseen, Discocks, Decrepit, Dissucks, Totalitar, Crucifix, The Casualties, Minor Threat, Crass, Dirt, Devoid Of Faith, Rot, Whorehouse Of Representatives, Combatwoundedveteran, Asshole Parade, Aus Rotten, Choking Victim, Subversion, Man Is The Bastard, Bristle, The Bloodclots, Dystopia, Seven Foot Spleen, Suicidal Supermarket Trollies, Psycho, McVeighs, Black Flag, Iron Reagan, Dropdead, The Misanthropists, Reagan Youth, Sick Of It All, Voorhees, Eyehategod, Buzzoven, Diskonto, Amebix, Man Is The Bastard, Suicidal Tendencies, Flux Of Pink Indians, Crossed Out, The Germs, Circle Jerks, Hellnation, Hellbastard, Wolfbrigade, SS Decontrol, Suppression, Iconoclast, Void, Warsore, Showcase Showdown, Icons Of Filth, Anti Nowhere League, Ojorojo, Disrupt, Citizen Fish, Disfear, Progeria, 4-Skins, Skaven, Fleas And Lice, Gob, Chineapple Punx, Dissober, August Spies, Ulcer, Concrete Sox, Palatka, and I could go on forever. You are trying too hard to be cool and contrarian to be failing so miserably!
