Glen I finally came across a great patch on my HX Stomp for my Taylor 810CE. As everyone knows even the Taylor piezo system is very hard to EQ. All piezo's are extreme mid range giving it that quacks harsh tone. I use no amp sim or IRS. I have a parametric EQ on the front and a 10 band EQ at the end of the signal chain. I also have a compressor at the front. I have used all kinds of acoustic preamp systems the Stomp finally gave me that silky clean acoustic sound I have been looking for.

Looking at your Acoustic simulation patches, and trying to make certain I place your IR's correctly, I am noticing in the Taylor, McPherson, Maton, Martin, Lakewood, Guild, Collins presets, that you have two IR blocks pointing to the same IR. Yes, each IR block inserted has a slight settings variation (ex: cutoff or level) , but when I click the different snapshots, both IR's remain active, whereas I might have expected one IR only would remain active for some snapshots and the other for the other snapshots. More of a technical question to understanding modelling logic. Piling on two same IR's have a beneficial effect to the tone to reproduce the desired acoustic guitar being simulated? I would test, but I don't have those guitars. :) Thanks! I got myself an LR Baggs Anthem just to play your patches. Such a cool preset pack!

Hi Glenn. I purchased this DL yesterday with the classical patch in mind. I'm using a Les Paul Alex Lifeson signature and running the piezo in through the AUX in on the Helix Floor. I'm not getting anything sounding close to the tone demonstrated here. Should I run in through a return for that pickup? If so, should I stick in a return block on the Helix floor? Thanks.

Yes, there are several ways to do this. The best way is if you navigate to the little circle all the way to the right on the top path there is a level control there.

Hi Glen I need a bit of advise. I am a solo loop artist playing loads of covers , some with loops some just vocals an acoustic. I play six nights a week in London and have recently got a Maton Mini EMD 6. I simply think the pick ups used in Maton are absolutely the best I have heard and I have owned my share of acoustics. I have playing around to get individual pedals to get the sounds I need but recently came across someone using a Helix for his vocals and great sounding acoustic in fact it was a Maton Tommy Emanuel guitar and he used an octave for his bass lines etc. It was amazing. So I am now thinking of selling up all my individual pedals and getting a Helix. Just hope I am making the correct move. I currently own a TC Helicon Voicelive 3 that has a bunch of great effects but nothing that sounds like the Helix. Would vocals be as good or does that depend on how you set it up. Also one last thing is, I am no sound engineer. Do you have to be pretty clued up on SE in order to get the best out of the unit, or do I just search for IR’s. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi Wallace. 6 night a week?? Congrats. That's awesome!! What I would do is put your mic through the Helicon, plug your Maton into Helicon but use the Guitar out and go into the the Helix. The Helix has great sounds for acoustic guitar. Also the Helix is very ver easy to use and there are a ton of youtube videos that show how it works.

I just purchased these patches along with Ambient realms patches,they sound awesome through my Helix Rack, on the acoustic patches was I supposed to load into the snapshots? Because when I load a preset only the top buttons are shown (chorus,delay,trem,...) the bottom row of buttons has nothing. I see on your video that your in snapshot mode what did I do wrong? I haven't really had a chance to use the snapshot mode so I'm not to keen on its use. Thanks Glenn top notch as always.

Nice Heart. This makes me want to add a piezo to my acoustics instead of using these with my Variax. The acoustics just sound more "real".

Thank you very much. Don't use the Piezo. It was meant for use with the LP Humbucker pickups.
I'm wondering how well these would work with an acoustic guitar equipped with a magnetic pickup (the L.R. Baggs M80). Have you tried that?
They should work well with that pick-up.

Correct, you can use your own acoustic guitar for these patches.

How does it work with Variax? Which setting should I use? An acoustic one? Which one?
The Variax ones comes with my Custom Variax acoustic model. You can load that into your Variax and use the Variax patches and IR's.

No these are designed to work with real acoustic guitars.

Thanks Jeff, the Variax model is my own and it is included in the set to load in your Variax.

Many church musicians use amps. I think it's a volume thing.
