Suzi was before Joan. Joan copied her look, she was so taken with Suzi and copied everything from hair to Suzi's moves on stage, her band had to tell her to stop and do her own thing. Watch the Suzi Quatro documentary to hear from Joan and other women rockers how they loved and admired her. It's a shame she didn't get the popularity from the USA that she got from just about every other country her albums were played in. She has sold more than 55 million. You would think she would get some love from her own country. Put her in the rock and roll hall of fame before she's dead!

@@lateramae I'm not sure. I do know that sometimes a person or group burns really bright and then for whatever reason their star just fizzles out. I think if she had found her first hit while living in America she might have had a better chance. She was living in England and began touring so many countries before coming home, she just never got the publicity here. I think that is the fault of her label. She is more widely known in America as Leather on Happy Days than as Suzi Quatro. My husband doesn't remember her and they are the same age. He spent plenty of time in Europe and Southeast Asia while in the Air Force when she was most popular yet only knew her from Happy Days. Didn't realize she had several hits before her acting gig. think being on a TV show also hurt her. The show was popular but most hard core rocker fans want their bands on stage, touring and producing albums. In America if the radio stations aren't playing you it is a fairly long road to the top of the charts. So yeah, someone dropped the ball where her publicity in this country is concerned. After her gig on Happy Days I think punk rock was making it's way and then MTV was becoming popular and she was forgotten. MTV played all the women rockers Suzi inspired but I don't remember seeing Suzi on there. I think it is great that she is touring at her age now. She looks wonderful, seems content and still sounds great. Stay safe in these uncertain times Lana.
