Just picked up an 06' trackday SV with GSX-R1000 body work installed. Your video of the install gave me some great ideas to tidy things up. Outstanding work!
There are definitely times I wish I had. I am not 100% certain the GSXR super bike tail would be compatible with the SV. The Ghetto Customs tail looks like a solid option.
I been looking to get track fairings for my K7 Gsxr 600. I really dislike the tail, SO im wondwering if the gsxr 1000 or the newer 600 tails would work since the subframe is preety much the same
I get what you’re saying about the tails, but our Suzuki experience pretty much begins and ends with the SV. We can’t answer your question, but maybe buy a used one that you like off eBay, f around and find out?
Thanks! I can’t say with any certainty that it will, at least as easily as it did on the second gen. The biggest issue would be how well the GSXR fairing stay adapts to the third gen. They’re not expensive parts, if you want to pick one up off eBay and find out.
Have you swapped the forks as well from the GSXR or is this strictly a fairing swap? I am looking at getting a 2nd gen SV650 as my first bike as here they are very cheap both to buy and insure, but I absolutely love the look of a supersport and am looking into swapping the fairings only just for looks, and probably just the front/bottom fairing in that case. So I'm just looking at how big of a job it would be.
Yes, I swapped the forks as well. I cover that a bit in my SV650 budget track bike build video. Your best bet for a fully faired SV us to buy the ‘08-‘09 SV650SF version that comes that way. The SV lower fairings are very difficult to find on their own.
@@ulteriormoto I didn't even know there existed an SF to be honest, probably quite rare at least in these parts. I'll look into it, or see if it'll be possible to do without forks. Doesn't have to be GSXR1000 fairings either (although they look really good) might as well go eith 600/750 fairings as long as they fit reasonably easily. I'll take a further look on your website though, thank you very much!
great walk through and explanation. excellent work and workmanship! one niggle...your opinion is rarely humble 😂
Thanks! And you know me too well. I might be that one and only opinionated designer.
@@ulteriormoto nah, it's an advantage to have an opinion

Glad I could help!
Very tidy. Thanks for showing us.
Glad you liked it. 👍🏻
Man after my own heart. I too have an SV and Bonnie.

This look absolutely amazing
Thanks for the compliment!
Apart from drilling the holes in the chassis, nice work!
If you’re going to do it, best to get it right the first time. 👍🏻
Very cool, i always kick myself for getting a Ninja 650 over one of these, such a great platform
Suzuki somehow managed to keep the same bike competitive for 25 years through small iterations. The less said about the Gladius the better though.
Very nice , Very clean. 👍
Thanks 👍
Any reason you didn't go for a race style tail with solid seat unit?

amazing 🎉😎
Thanks 😄
This looks stunning! Do you think it will fit on a 3rd gen. SV?
