I actually much preferred more of Season 2, the mecha fight episode, The glorious scotsman trilogy (Jack meets the scotsman, Jack meets the scotsman II, and how the scotsman saved jack), I loved everything about mostly season 2 and Ik the mecha fight was in season 3, but honestly, If I were to go watch it again, I'd probably watch Season 2 the most, and some season 4 like Tales of X-9. For the most part, Saber got some good ones, but there are ones I think that are honestly downright better than some, He should have mentioned Jack and the haunted house, because of the wonderful artstyle it does. Samurai Jack is a very creative show, with many ranging different artstyles working so fluently well, because of the storyboarding first, and then writing the script to make it so effortless. Overall, Channel Frederator, if you plan on anything RELEVANT to tartarkovsky's work, take inspiration from this show, It's great animation and will teach you how it is done with simple backgrounds but with many designs so perfect, you just gotta watch that sh**
My two personal favorites was "Jack is Naked." That one was hilarious and took a tongue and cheek approach to Alice in Wonderland. The other was Samurai Vs. Ninja. The fight they did during the twilight where the ninja used the shadows and Jack used the light to attack each other from was cinematically breathtaking!
For me Jack vs the Zombies was my favorite alongside the traveling creatures. I feel its one of the few episodes where you get to see how terrifying Aku can be.
I completely agree, especially to Samurai VS Ninja. I love the use of positive and negative space, the simple white and black imagery. This whole series was a work of art. As an added note, I was very impressed by the final season. It was a satisfying, if not bittersweet conclusion to an amazing story.
Who,Jack? In the trailer he says that time travel has made him basically immortal.Time has no effect on him anymore. IF that is correct it means he stopped aging the day he came out of Akus time portal.
What about the episode with the private investigator looking guy!! I CRYED SO HARD! It is the only episode that shows not all of the villains are bad! That's rare! Most kid shows say that these are the bad guys that live only to destroy! Kill them cause there bad!!! That is never true! Any villain needs a actual reason to do things seen as bad!!!
Rocky The guy That episode had me messed up! I knew where it was going when the dog appeared, but that ending. Oooooh man, that ending. To this day I still worry about the dog since the robot failed his mission and died with his last thoughts of her. One of the best episodes that people glance over for the Dark Ninja episode and Aku's fairytale episode (which I like too, but X-9 episode needs love too).
It seems great minds think alike Bro, hehe I've got 2 certain Samurai Jack videos comin tomorrow and Saturday ;) so this is a fun watch. EDIT I kinda knew our top 5 would be the same haha
I was actually surprised the episode "Samurai vs Ninja" wasn't included. The fight using light and shadow was incredible and probably one of my favorite scenes in the entire series.
One episode I absolutely love is where the kids are playing to be "Samurai Jack" and a little kid does his hair to resemble Aku's head and when they start telling the story they change certain aspects, like Jack climbing a wall or tower and the kids saying something like "But his hair was loose" and "He had injuries" and "It was raining", etc. That episode was fun, a bit dark and awesome.
While it didn't make the list, I wanted to quickly talk about one of my favorite episodes from Jack. Namely Jack and the Zombies. This episode was one that I never forgot as a kid and I finally had the opportunity to sit down and watch it again yesterday. After having to choose between two paths on a road, Jacks choice is influenced by Aku which leads him to a graveyard of undead. This episode had a lot going for it, creepy atmosphere, intense action, and it showcased what was probably Aku's greatest strengths as a villain. Asserting himself as the true master of masters, being the one pulling the strings in his world. Each move is planned out by Aku, who ends up executing his plan so efficiently that this was probably the closest he ever came to defeating Jack for good. The stakes that Jack ends up against are nail biting and overall it lands this as one of the more memorable episodes in my books.
Yeah I also think this cemetery episode was the best fight between Jack and Aku in the entire series. Aku is totally deadly here and Jack feels really vunerable. If it weren't for the sword trick, Aku would have killed him in a heartbeat.
I've forgotten what the episode was called, it's been a while, but as I recall there was an episode told from the point of view a retired robot mobster who just wanted to live the rest of his life in peace with his dog. Then Aku shows up, kidnaps the dog, and forces the robot mobster to fight Jack. Jack kill/destroys the mobster and the episode ends. I'm pretty sure that was a thing, and I recall it being my favorite episode.
It's like you read my mind. I've been wanting a top 10 of this from someone for awhile. So. . thanks for filling the void. o/ Awesome video as always, Spark!
I love this show. Its very deliberate with sound and so little shows are like that now. Interesting choices you have here. My favorite episode is called Tale of X-9 as I love the story of it.
OH oh man the hype is so real for Jack to return. I finished marathoning all the seasons of Samurai Jack refresh my memory and all the episodes you picked were my personal favorites.
There are so many good episodes of Samurai Jack that it's hard for me to pick which ones are my favorites. The ending to the last one listed here though shows that this show is actually good with keeping true to it's own continuity, showing that all the way back then, Jack may have not been ready to face Aku, but after 50 years, I definitely think he is ready for the final battle. And after a decade of waiting, it's finally time to see the ending we've waited for so long...
Honorable mention if you like slow, but gorgeous episodes is Four Seasons of Death. Each one is a small snippet of Jack's travels, and each one is fantastic. I can barely wait for the final season, I hope it'll be good...
I use to think that Samurai Jack wasn't as popular as I believed, but seeing so many people upload videos about this series and its return has filled me with joy. Can't wait for Saturday.
Man I just got to say iv loved these videos ever since I stumbled across you with your first video on here. The Bronie Chronicles was the start to a great subscription. keep up the great work
After this list I watched that episode the princess and the bounty hunters, and man you were not kidding about that ending. It was also kinda sad in a way but mainly awsome! Thanks for letting us know that episode exists saber, I would have missed it completely since I didn't watch much of the show back then.
idk i think i like the third scottsman episode more than the second , the siren battle was way more epic and it was one of the few episodes were jack is defeated for the majority of it , and that siren song :O ......
I'm surprised you left out a lot of my personal favorites, the ones with the gangsters because the premise was so ridiculously awesome, where else would you ever see a samurai destroyed as a mobster fighting elemental creatures? The one with the dogs because it's what got me hooked on the show in the first place, the ones with the archers and ninja because those were the two most amazing fights to me, and the one with the rave because it's hilarious, it's hard to order all my favorite episodes into a Top 10, but the bounty hunter one is probably my favorite because of the exact things you said.
one of my favorite episodes is Tale of X-49. It doesn't revolve around jack but around the killer aku sends jacks way. It paints the picture that sometimes aku forces people to do these things.
Good list, Saber. Samurai Jack was to me the next level of both action and comedy after the Powerpuff Girls with these visual cinematography techniques, colors, and build up. Ever since I saw the first trailer of Samurai Jack in the vhs tape of The Powerpuff Girls Boogie Frights that I still owned as a kid. I knew something very great is in store for me as an action fan. I hope the final 5th season will change a lot of things for tv animation as a whole. :)
My favorite is probably X9's episode(S4EP11).Not only im a jazz/blues fan, but this was an episode where Jack wasnt the focus of.(and the first episode to make me cry) *Lulu, sweet thing...*
3:49 Same I like lore and history episodes too. I mean do you remember that episode in adventure time showing how the ice king's crown was made with that Dino boy and why every penguin is called a Gunther.
Great TOP! By the way, there are lots of Frank Miller's elements in Samurai Jack, even in the new season, that part in episode 3 with the blood covering his entire body remember me a lot Sin City art style.
you my friend hit the final nail in the coffin on why #1 is the best. the keyword that won my heart for that episode being my favorite was "NOT YET" my second favorite would be jack & the lava monster. that was a very dark episode with a heartwarming conclusion.
Saberspark I did the exact same thing I re-watched the entire sires. It re-kindled my love for this show and just like you I was pumped as well. We are finally getting an ending and they did the smart choice and put it on Adult Swim and not CN. Can't wait to see what other videos you make. Keep up the good work.
I've actually never watched the show when it aired so I JUST finished watching it for the first time and... I love it! I am so hyped for season 5! I really like this list, admittedly I watched Mr. Enter's top 10 list before this one (this video showed up in the recommended, that was a surprise) and it's cool how different the lists are. For instance, your #10 is his #2 (and...his #10 is an episode I dislike lol). I love the Scotsman, he's great
I'm so excited for this to come back this Saturday night I can't wait to see how it holds out I'm glad that gennedy tarvarosky is back working on it this time
I think the thing I'm most hyped about in Season 5 is Jack's eventual rematch with the Guardian. I can't wait to see how far Jack has come in 50 years. 50 years to hone his skills in combat.
Great choices. Btw my favorite episode always was Jack Vs. Mad Jack because I love how it shows Jack is evenly matched with someone as strong as he is. And the way he defeats him is so profound and deep and I love it. Just the fact that Genndy brought this show back is a miracle. And I love how he made it pretty obvious that them bringing the show back was done out of passion and love for the series and to see the end through unlike Teen Titans Go and Powerpuff Girls 2016 which just seem like desperate cash grabs in my opinion. I rewatched the entire show last January and again this past January. Btw fun fact, the guard in your number 1 pick was voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson who was in so many different shows. Anything you can think of as far as animation goes, chances are he has been in it. Teen Titand, Gravity Falls, Fairly Oddparents, Danny Phantom, and many other shows.
My top 10 Jack and the Woolies Jack in Egypt Jack and the Zombies (especially for the dark tone) The Birth of Evil Jack and the Gangsters Jack and the Scotsman The Tale of X9 (music and emotional ending nuff said) Jack Remembers His Past Jack and the Ultrabots Jack and the Three Blind Archers
samurai Jack is having a week long Livestream, found at www.adultswim.com/videos/streams/samurai-jack/ They are showing all the episodes to hype up to the premiere of season 5 on Saturday they'll also have Gendy on before the premiere and the whole series is being played on loop, constantly going 24/7
And Lastly; even though it is airing on adultswim, you'd think Cartoon Network would take the opportunity to marathon the extremely popular property on their channel, raking in hundreds of thousands of ratings and views, and increasing visibility of the premiere. Nope. So do your part to rub this mistake in their face and marathon it on AdultSwim, and maybe they'll listen long enough to reconsider what they put on their channel.
I would but I wish they would have the episodes on demand instead of a constant stream and then start in the middle of season 3.. just doesnt work unless you've seen the whole series already. The only one who has it legally without buying whole seasons/episodes is Hulu. So I'd go with that if you want to support the creators.
I think its really interesting that ur picks are completely different than mine would have been. I think its telling of the quality of show, u know? That different episodes can appeal to different people in different ways. (Different picks aside, i agree that Aku's Fairytales is like one of the best hands down)
Samurai Jack is premiering these new episodes on Adult Swim's Toonami block. Who will be staying up to watch Dragon Ball Super, Dragon Ball Z Kai, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans, Hunter x Hunter, Naruto: Shippuden, One Piece, and/or Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex afterwards? This block lasts from 11:00 PM - 3:30 AM.
13:28 Jack: your rain of terror is over aku! You are finished. This fight is over? (Pillar falls) That pillar did not move by itself aku! Aku: YES IT DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIID
Jack is BACK! Great picks Saber!
ChannelFrederator Only 3 likes?
ChannelFrederator Wow, Saberspark is really becoming popular.
ChannelFrederator OMG CHANNEL FREDERATOR :O
I actually much preferred more of Season 2, the mecha fight episode, The glorious scotsman trilogy (Jack meets the scotsman, Jack meets the scotsman II, and how the scotsman saved jack), I loved everything about mostly season 2 and Ik the mecha fight was in season 3, but honestly, If I were to go watch it again, I'd probably watch Season 2 the most, and some season 4 like Tales of X-9. "What do you think of that, Mr. Pajama-Wearing, Basket-Face, Slipper-Wielding, Clype-Dreep-Bachle, Gether-Uping-Blate-Maw, Bleathering, Gomeril, Jessie, Oaf-Looking, Scooner, Nyaff, Plookie, Shan, Milk-Drinking, Soy-Faced Shilpit, Mim-Moothed, Sniveling, Worm-Eyed, Hotten-Blaugh, Vile-Stoochie, Cally-Breek-Tattie?"
I read this in his voice.
Excited Cat the greatest roast ever
even Idubbz won't be able to roast the Scotsman.
The one where aku says EXTRA *THICC* because I can use it for memes
which one is that?...
Andres Salinas just made a meme with it last night
Andres Salinas
Mmm Aku has best taste.
EXTRA THICC
Aku vs Jack. Don't be fooled by the title though, its a big meta joke.
Yea, it sounded like he was ordering Pizza but it was a henchman. Also easily taken out of context "I'd like a large..."
AnnoyingSquib the episode where he's turned into a chicken XD
For me Jack vs the Zombies was my favorite alongside the traveling creatures. I feel its one of the few episodes where you get to see how terrifying Aku can be.
I completely agree with you about the ninja episode, that fight was arguably the bet in the series.
I completely agree, especially to Samurai VS Ninja. I love the use of positive and negative space, the simple white and black imagery. This whole series was a work of art. As an added note, I was very impressed by the final season. It was a satisfying, if not bittersweet conclusion to an amazing story.
I personaly find the jack is naked one of the worst, togegher with the chicken jack
tale of X-9 deserves, at least, an honorable mention.
man that was beautiful .. Lulu Sweet thing
Sean Flannery Agreed!
I freaking cried man
Genndy understands how to make something truly amazing. He is my inspiration.
Mine too.
Screw off Teen Titans Go & Powerpuff Girls 2016 ( disgraceful to their predecessors )
Cause Jack is BACK !!!
SUPER GAMER XD a.k.a Zabuza what did they do to their processors? did they overclock them too much?
Cartoon Network is cancer now. Adult Swim is the real savior of cartoons.
Pwn3r
Adult Swim is the mature older brother and Cartoon Network is the cringy younger brother that does every trendy things that get popular.
Unfortunately, that is 200% accurate
Rex Wort calling Adult Swim mature would not be accurate. But it isn't really cringey.
If the guardian appears in season 5,its going to be such an epic battle.....
I don´t think Jack will even need to fight him but we will see.
Ahturos he has to
here's a question, did he age? or age very slow?
Who,Jack? In the trailer he says that time travel has made him basically immortal.Time has no effect on him anymore.
IF that is correct it means he stopped aging the day he came out of Akus time portal.
the guardian.
*huff*
*huff*
*huff*
I CAME AS SOON AS I HEARD!
Because Determination that's what she said
noobmaster117 ffs I just realized
What about the episode with the private investigator looking guy!! I CRYED SO HARD! It is the only episode that shows not all of the villains are bad! That's rare! Most kid shows say that these are the bad guys that live only to destroy! Kill them cause there bad!!! That is never true! Any villain needs a actual reason to do things seen as bad!!!
You mean Tale of X-9. YEA that was a great episode
Rocky The guy. you mean like the Mr freeze origin episode of batman TAS
Rocky The guy
That episode had me messed up!
Just A demomeeen
I sill want to know what happen to his dog?
Tales of X9, you mean? He wasn't a detective, just a former assassin robot for Aku.
It seems great minds think alike Bro, hehe I've got 2 certain Samurai Jack videos comin tomorrow and Saturday ;) so this is a fun watch. EDIT I kinda knew our top 5 would be the same haha
sup fam
JaxBlade awesome
I know my favorite episode was Jack and the Rave. It was awesome, especially the music. And I did like Jack and the sirens.
SICK, EVIL BEAT.
Pwn3r FUDGE YEAH
I could look at the gif of Jack dancing all day.
Why So Deadass? I can't stop looking at it. XD
I was actually surprised the episode "Samurai vs Ninja" wasn't included. The fight using light and shadow was incredible and probably one of my favorite scenes in the entire series.

It was mentioned in this video.
"Aku's fairy tales"
I. Fucking. Love. This. Show
btw my favorite was the : jack and the flying prince and princess
I remember a chicken episode.
Synth Curie
It makes CN look like a Badass but now are pussies.
While it didn't make the list, I wanted to quickly talk about one of my favorite episodes from Jack. Namely Jack and the Zombies. OH MY GOSH! IT'S A FLOATING SHOPPING LIST!
Wrong cartoon
Wrong neighborhood Fo'!
"They are COOL wicker baskets!" Is my new favorite phrase
Thank you so much for doing this to honor Samurai Jack. This and Ducktales continuation might actually have EFFORT for once
Tales of X-9
Seeing sabers old avatar is... jarring.
I'm so excited for this Saturday night!!
Me too!! I can't wait!
Lowrider9398 the hype is soooo real!
(sings): Tomorrow we'll discover what good Genndy has in store! One more dawn! One more day! One day mooooore!
Gotta get back, back to the past, Samurai Jack!
WA-WA-WATCH OUT!
As dark as it was I would love one more season of courage the cowardly dog that goes even darker
that would be Amazing!!!
It's like you read my mind.
I've been wanting a top 10 of this from someone for awhile.
So. . thanks for filling the void. o/
Awesome video as always, Spark!
Loved watching the show growing up. The ones with Scotsman were my favorites. Great list saber!!
extra THICC
k k idiotic!
"AH HAH HAH HAH HAH!"
Roses are Red,
Violets are Blue,
Now the fool seeks to return to the past,
and undo the future that is Aku!
I love this show. Its very deliberate with sound and so little shows are like that now. Interesting choices you have here. My favorite episode is called Tale of X-9 as I love the story of it.
13:06 Aku: I accept your terms, we shall meet before the rising sun, of the ancient ruins beyond the valley of the corpses.
Jack and the Archers surely deserves a spot! Jack learns to avoid the arrows of 3 archers that can take out a whole army, but with a blindfold on.
Honorable mention if you like slow, but gorgeous episodes is Four Seasons of Death. Each one is a small snippet of Jack's travels, and each one is fantastic. I can barely wait for the final season, I hope it'll be good...
I love the episode where Jack becomes a chicken and fights in an arena.
0:57 cancelled? It was sent to the future :P
I love the new series so far, it almost feels like it never ended and that's a good thing!
I use to think that Samurai Jack wasn't as popular as I believed, but seeing so many people upload videos about this series and its return has filled me with joy. Can't wait for Saturday.
It surprised me too when the trailer dropped. It literally blew up.
Alright, Saber. Repeat after me:
tart-ah-cov-ski
It's not that hard.
Thank you, and he's not the only one who has done that
Well, his real name is Генадий Тартаковский
you sir have truly picked the best of the best, it will be great to see Jack's story come to an end
idk i think i like the third scottsman episode more than the second , the siren battle was way more epic and it was one of the few episodes were jack is defeated for the majority of it , and that siren song :O ......
haven't watched one of your videos in many months, i like what i see on the thumbnail C:
Nobody:
Aku trying to impress people:BEEF JURKEY
"Number four-" /ad starts/ "GO KILL THE SAMURAI!"
My favorite episode was the episode where Jack fakes being a gangster.
mostly because I loved seeing him in a suit
I'm surprised you left out a lot of my personal favorites, the ones with the gangsters because the premise was so ridiculously awesome, where else would you ever see a samurai destroyed as a mobster fighting elemental creatures? The one with the dogs because it's what got me hooked on the show in the first place, the ones with the archers and ninja because those were the two most amazing fights to me, and the one with the rave because it's hilarious, it's hard to order all my favorite episodes into a Top 10, but the bounty hunter one is probably my favorite because of the exact things you said.
Holy crap! A samurai jack video! Thanks Saber
Great picks man. I can't wait to see what's in store for Jack
one of my favorite episodes is Tale of X-49.
Jack is actually MORE invincible than Superman. Jack never died.
Amazing video Saberspark! My personal favorite episode is about 3 blind guardians of tower and Jack must become "blind" himself to defeat them.
The Scotsman episodes were always my favourite. I better see him is season 5. I'll be really disappointed if I don't
Yes. He's coming back.
Thank you, thank you very much! These are precious memories!
Oh my gosh! The brings back so much memories!! Thanks god I watched em when I was young.
My favorite is probably X9's episode(S4EP11).Not only im a jazz/blues fan, but this was an episode where Jack wasnt the focus of.(and the first episode to make me cry)
*Lulu, sweet thing...*
The hunters also shows how unfair a 1on 5 is.
No time to binge watch, I'll just watch the essentials for Saturday! Thanks, definitely see these recommends
Can't wait to see the remade intro!
Oh yeah, an excellent video! You should do more of these Top Ten Lists for episodes of cartoons if possible.
3:49 Same I like lore and history episodes too. I mean do you remember that episode in adventure time showing how the ice king's crown was made with that Dino boy and why every penguin is called a Gunther.
JACK IS BACK
I'd love to see you review the first two season 5 episodes!
Let me help you with that, Saber:
Genndy Tar - Tah - Koh - Skee. :)
Great TOP! By the way, there are lots of Frank Miller's elements in Samurai Jack, even in the new season, that part in episode 3 with the blood covering his entire body remember me a lot Sin City art style.
you my friend hit the final nail in the coffin on why #1 is the best. the keyword that won my heart for that episode being my favorite was "NOT YET"
my second favorite would be jack & the lava monster. that was a very dark episode with a heartwarming conclusion.
I think my favorite, that I've seen, is the one where Jack fights the lava monster. One of the more sentimental episodes.
I also rewatched the entire series to prepare of Season 5!
So worth it.
Saberspark I did the exact same thing I re-watched the entire sires. It re-kindled my love for this show and just like you I was pumped as well. We are finally getting an ending and they did the smart choice and put it on Adult Swim and not CN. Can't wait to see what other videos you make. Keep up the good work.
it was never cancelled, it was only halted for a while
One thing I love about Samurai Jack is that everyone has different reasons for watching and thus have very different lists of favorite episodes.
I can't wait for tomorrow night so i can see the end of my favorite show from a long time ago
I've actually watched Aku's Fairytales two times I think. Possibly one of my fav episodes of the series.
Heh, you left out two of my favourites - where Jack learns to jump, and the Three Blind Archers.
I'M SO HYPED FOR THIS SHOW TO RETURN!
I am HYPED for Saturday! Samurai Jack is my childhood and I am GLAD it is coming back with it's final season. :D
Looking at the thumbnail, Aku must be hyped too.
I love the Scotsman, he's great
I actually got to talk to Phil LaMarr, Jack's voice actor, about the new season. It was a cool experience.
The Four seasons of death was my favorite
I'm so excited for this to come back this Saturday night I can't wait to see how it holds out I'm glad that gennedy tarvarosky is back working on it this time
3 blind archers is sooooo fire
The Good, the Bad, and the Beautiful is an episode with really good action that people never put on their Jack top 10s...
"EXTRA THICC!"
-Demon guy
I think the thing I'm most hyped about in Season 5 is Jack's eventual rematch with the Guardian. I can't wait to see how far Jack has come in 50 years. 50 years to hone his skills in combat.
Hope he kicks that jerk;s ass! I've never forgiven him for what he did to Jack.
MWAHAHAHA FOOOOOOOL!!! The Guardian was no match for the mighty Aku!
Great choices. Btw my favorite episode always was Jack Vs. Mad Jack because I love how it shows Jack is evenly matched with someone as strong as he is. And the way he defeats him is so profound and deep and I love it. Just the fact that Genndy brought this show back is a miracle.
I got a Samurai Jack ad :D
Can't wait! I'm so excited!! :D
My top 10
Jack and the Woolies
Jack in Egypt
Jack and the Zombies (especially for the dark tone)
The Birth of Evil
Jack and the Gangsters
Jack and the Scotsman
The Tale of X9 (music and emotional ending nuff said)
Jack Remembers His Past
Jack and the Ultrabots
Jack and the Three Blind Archers
The pilot was the most epic beginning to a story I've ever seen
Now All That Is Left Is For Invader Zim To Get A Season 3 Too.
Also Great Picks For The Video Saber.
samurai Jack is having a week long Livestream, found at www.adultswim.com/videos/streams/samurai-jack/
They are showing all the episodes to hype up to the premiere of season 5 on Saturday
they'll also have Gendy on before the premiere
and the whole series is being played on loop, constantly going 24/7
You can also watch the premiere there, supposedly, when it happens.
Also, it has a chat full of fellow samurai jack fans, which makes for excellent jokes.
Also, it supports the creators by being OFFICIAL and LEGAL, as opposed to watching on an illegal site. So please support the official release
The tale of X-9 is my favorite episode manly because the episode got me wanting X-9 to win so he could save his dog.
man I loved this as a kid
