A dude here in the UK makes an aftermarket cartridge for it that's an actual verticutter (not just the the standard scarifier that comes with it.) This thing looks like a row of ninja throwing stars! Similar to what Daniel Hibbett uses.

@@YardBrah I've got a few of these, and if you pull open the rear lid then tie this giant twisty tie to the two handle tubes, the door will rest on the tiwsty tie. You can then adjust how open it is to get it perfect. Open enough that clippings come out, but not open so much that tons of stuff is flung at your ankles.
Those sun joes have a 2yr warranty. Make sure you guys register it. They sent me a brand new one when mine gave me trouble during that warranty period.
Same thing happen to mine last year. I called Sun Joe to get replacement parts and they just gave me a new one free of charge😮😮😮. I just had to pay to ship my old one back to them🤙🏾

Verticut is nice as it can allow a crowded lawn to breathe as well as get rid of unwanted dead grass and moss. In my experience using the power rake tines messes up the grass more than the verticut blades. The rake really digs up that thatch... I switched over to verticut cause it doesn't mess up the grass as much and I can do it more frequently. Before an overseed though I will use the power rake tines and dethatch the crap out of the lawn 😊🤙🏾
Your extension cord is getting all curley cued because it's getting too hot. That can burn out the motor. Must run 12 or 10 gauge at the distance you need
I was getting the same thing on the cord I was using for the kids blowup slide pool blower motor. Extension cord started looking like a spiral macaroni and I had no idea why. It was because of the internal heat due to not being correct gauge for the length I needed. Now I have right gauge for the Pool and sunjoe. Good cords not cheap

I kept hearing it's old old old, how long have you had it? The safety lever broke on mine which is a common issue. Sent them a pic of problem and it was replaced in 3 days on my doorstep. Didn't have to show receipt either. I think I'm going to sell the new one as I have Bermuda warm-season. I can get better results with a string trimmer. I used to it while I was waiting for my other one to come in and now I like it better LOL

Well with my experience using the dethatch tines the little rakes… it eats up the grass like crazy!!! This is literally vertical cutting the lawn at a level 0 or higher. I’m not digging into the soil as you can see I’m only bringing up debris. During this time I’m doing it heavy cause of all the moss and dead material invading the good grass. Verticut is just letting the grass breathe without being crowded 😊🔥🤙🏾🙏🏾

I noticed in other videos you would use the sunjoe in a forward and backward motion. I read on TLF that people had issues by going in reverse.
I've done it myself cuz it gets up more material, but I also expect that to wear out quicker.
