I've basically the same sets but with out the repeater feature. I live in Toronto Ontario Canada where no license is required. When I was down at Woodbine beach I made radio contact with another radio in Ocot New York 46 miles (50 kilometers)
I have about 12 of these in mostly all black 2 yellows and 2 oranges. I love them when I go dirt bike riding in Hollister hills with my family n friends.
These are great radios for the price! Range is awesome and even though the disclaimer says without obstructions is 35 miles...I ski is Colorado and I was at (almost 14,000 ft) and my brother was on the bottom waiting for me, totally clear and no problem with reception through pine trees and a heavy snow fall!
your 35 mile range comes with the fallowing to do list 1 look up G M R S repeter's near you you need to be licensed by the F C C then get your radio set to the in put side of the repeter and have fun I talk on 6 covering three county's around me
IT is not a disclaimer is you can do it BUT you need too tune your radio to a tower with a G M R S transmiter to do that and you have to have a LICENSE to back it up.
that is dune by a radio tower at 150 ft in the air ( the cops do it 24=7 =365 you can do it too you tune radio to tower and get your license then you can come and be with me and all your friends I owen radio station W R X N 824 out of Minnesota know every one know's
Whoa I went dumpster diving and found 2 of these working but no backs on them I put batteries in em and they are working perfectly fine no issues or anything broken on em glad I got em

I got a few of these when my grandpa passed away a few years ago. I've never been able to get them to work. They showed fully charged and I even went through and chose all the exact same settings as you. Nothing. Any experience with this?
really liking the randomness of your item / gear videos. you're covering alot of different grounds. I'm a new sub, any chance of a firearm collection update video?
Actually, I could give one to my neighbor who's a State Patrol officer here in South Carolina, we can talk about the caliber debate or gun things in movies and tv that piss us off any hour of the day lmao
It should be as you scroll through the menu options like everything else...then you can turn it on, off, or vibrate. Hope you get it. Thanks for watching!
@@USA2ndAmendment I have gone threw the set up prolly 50x. In snow storm right now and am using these to stay intouch with friends. The beep is driving me mad! LoL

i am trying to charge mine right now, after years of not using it, but the lights with the dual charger are not lighting up, and the walkies are nott charging someone plz help
@@RKingis Can't find anyone that sells them now (2023), but they do seem to be GMRS radios with 22 channels and 8 repeater channels. As per the FCC, these have been reclassified as GmRS only, and requires a GMRS license to transmit on all 22+8 channels.
Uhmmm...yeah, ok...it's a walkie-talkie...I think we will be 👌
if I run on 8 channels then what are the other 22 channels do
family service is 22 the + 8 are G M R S for which you need a license
to operate on I have one
channels 1 through 22 are F R S only the 8 repeater channels REQUIER a licensee

I have them fully charged but each time I press PTT button it shuts off the radio. Why is this happening?
Might need new a new battery pack.
What is the best frequency for long distance?
1-7+15-22, also if you got your GMRS license, you can use 15R-22R repeater channels.
No license is required for GMRS in Canadathere are only two gmrs repeater stations that I know of one in Ottawa and st. Catharines Ontario

I have these aswell sometimes you need to wipe down the charging connectors and find the right balance on the double charger where they sit
Change the battery s
Put some regular lithium AA batteries in them, 4 I believe
Hello mr could you please tell me how to know the frequency that can use in my country
What is the FCC ID: number? It is the battery area.
I believe these only put out 1watt, and do require a GMRS license to transmit on all channels, including repeater channels.
