    Thanks for the honest review. I'm currently shopping for a new pack and this is a finalist for me. It's refreshing to see a review with honest criticism along with the positive. These packs are expensive. It's tough to pull the trigger unless you know your getting something well designed and well built. Thanks.

      Yes sir it took me 6 years to pull the trigger. I don’t regret it one bit. The third day I had my pack I was hauling elk meat off the mountain and knew immediately I had made a great choice. Thanks for watching and hope you follow along.

    Great review. It's a rare thing to find someone that uses kit as much as you have before filming a review. I have had my eye on this company for a while and your review is very helpful in understanding their products. Thank you.

      You bet man. I hauled 1 elk and 4 deer last year and 2 elk and 1 deer this year so far with it. Excellent pack and great customer service with these guys.

    It was refreshing to see someone who really got to know the pack critique it. All the issues you pointed out are not going to ruin your hunt and you were able to solve them. My buddy just got one of these and has been taunting me with it. I bet by next fall I have one

    Just got the K3 with the 3200 option, and impressively enough it seems like Exo listened to the issues and addressed most if not all of them. Really comfortable pack. I still have to put it into use, but out of the box its the best pack I've ever own, and I"ve had 15 or so packs, including a couple custom made ones.

    • @FLATLANDERHUNT

      Yes sir. They sent me a 6400 bag and they have improved everything I bitched about. I love the packs. Good luck this season and send me some pics when you harvest with it. 👊💪

      @@FLATLANDERHUNT Do you notice a big size difference, bulk wise between the two? I'm starting to get into back country hunting and can't decide between the 4800 and 6400. I want enough space for back country hunting but I also do a lot of day hunts.

    • @FLATLANDERHUNT
      @FLATLANDERHUNT  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Dedicatedoutdoors they both pack down to be about the same for day packing but noticed a huge difference when fully loaded. I love them both but choose the 6400 over the 4800 in the backcountry

    Good vid! I hope to one day, put as much time as you have in the back country! I noticed in the vid the little label that says "cordura" on your lid is black. The label on the replacment lid that exo sent me, is now ranger green instead of black like on the "miscut" lids and seemed to fix the issue you had in the video, for me at least. Makes me think you might have accidentally been using the "miscut" lid in the video

    • @FLATLANDERHUNT
      @FLATLANDERHUNT  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks man. Really appreciate you watching. And they sent that lid to me as the replacement to the original. Still had the same issue. And now I have to send the frame in for replacement. Sucks but at least they stand behind their product.

    Great review. I'm sure glad I'm not the only one with the lid issue, I will have to try your way of redirecting the straps to make sure the lid stays somewhat up where its supposed to be.

    For the zippers maybe try carefully squeezing them down with plyers?
    Also, what do I look for to find out if I have the old or new K3 lid?
    Thanks for the review! It's a great pack and I'm glad there wasn't much to complain about!

    • @FLATLANDERHUNT
      @FLATLANDERHUNT  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes sir. That’s what I did to remedy the zippers.
      As far as the lid goes. I requested a new one and it does the same exact thing as the old one. What I did was run the lid straps under the shoulder straps up against the frame then back up to the lid so that it is at the correct angle and it works great. Thanks for the comment and welcome to the Flatlander family. 👊💪

    • @FLATLANDERHUNT
      @FLATLANDERHUNT  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes sir they sure do. When they recalled them they sent me a new lid they said was correct only to have the same problem. I’ll be doing an update review soon. They have since sent me a 6400 also that I’m trying and will have a review for it coming also. I’ve fixed the lid problem and really that my only bitch about the pack. It has hauled some extreme loads out and would definitely recommend them.

    External frame bag z better or internal frame bag?

    • @FLATLANDERHUNT

      The frame on this pack is separate. I prefer one with a meat shelf/ load shelf for hauling meat and animal

  • @bradfordlab
    @bradfordlab 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Why cant you just criss cross the front lid straps thru the pack handle? Will that work?

    • @FLATLANDERHUNT
      @FLATLANDERHUNT  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      So I ran mine under the shoulder straps then back up to the lid to get the correct angle and it works great. I’ve had it like that now for 10 months and is doing great. I show that in this video. And it leaves the pack handle free because I actually use it a lot loading and unloading from the truck.
