I purchased my ps5 back in May 2023 and didn't realize how AWESOME this system really is. I was skeptical at first because I had a ps4 pro at the time and didn't see the need to upgrade, but there were some games I wanted to experience on the next gen console so I decided to get one and I am SO glad I did. All these features of this console really makes it shine and I am really enjoying this system. I will be using this video capture feature a lot. Thanks for the info.
TL;DR: plug in a USB storage device into the PS5. Select the clip(s) to be transferred in PS5 media library and then click copy to USB device. It really as simple as we were all hoping.
My problem is I can't transfer my hour long videos I really don't care about finding 8 thousand different ways to open the media gallery I just wanna know the best usb to do this

@@grippiezzz yo guys I did find a way you gotta put the usb in Your computer and then format it to exfat. Format back to default. Format back to exfat. Plug usb into back of PS5 and everything should work fine
So quick question when I plug this into my pc after copying I open it up on my pc and they are all pictures not videos jpg files. What am I doing wrong.
I have a question. Once you copy it to usb drive will it still be in the media gallery, or will it be in the usb drive instead and be gone from the main console storage. Another question, can you convert the videos back to the ps5? And will be converted back in order? What I mean by that is the ps5 shows the videos in order (new to old or old to new) you can select it. So if you can convert it back will it be back in the storage as a new video or put back the day the video was made.
Hi, i've copied all my clips over to my USB extended storage, but i need to delete all the videos which i've copied still in my media gallery to make space. Will this delete all the copies on the USB stick if i do this?
Might sound like really dumb questions but is there a process you have to do to then remove the stick and can you safely delete the clips from the console storage once copied to the stick?
Just remove the stick. The PlayStation doesn’t include any data files on the USB where anything could get corrupt. It’s just a direct media transfer! Hope that helps !
My Verbatim usb stick doesn't work, but Kingston does, I don't know why and what the difference is between them. Somebody else wrote same somewhere that Verbatim doesn't work. It don't matter is it Fat32, ExFat or NTFS.
how did you add soundtrack without getting copyright claim. i use sharefactory too and sometimes the music on there is awesome, i use it and it works but then on an other video i get copyright claim. any advise?
What do you do when it says that you can’t download more than 4 GB of video clips at a time? I know there’s no way I get a response but if I do it would be massively appreciated
It sounds like your USB is fomatted as FAT32, which is an old format with a max file size of 4 GB. Reformat your USB using NTSF or another format that supports larger files.
Okay I just got my ps5 well I started my TH-cam channel with my ps4, and it got to the point where I couldn't view the vid or edit the vid because me just pulling it out corrupted the files does the ps5 do this as well??? and if so, how can I safely remove it because there is no option for that I've searched high and low
Can this be done vice versa? Iv got a USB stick with a bunch of videos i want to upload to TH-cam, but all i can do is view the "Information" of anything on my USB drive. There's no share option.
Any idea how to delete them from the usb too? Coz I have no clue. I just wanna have my recordings save directly into the usb storage but I have to copy it every time.
On my storage hard drive it’s a stair kf 500 GB but it won’t allow me to copy my clips and screenshots (which is in 4K HDR that takes up tons of space)
I found a soluton you have to go to settings then captures and broadcasts then video clip format and then go to file type where you can choose mp4 instead of web.(hope this helps)
there should be a jpeg file and a chrome file. convert the chrome file to mp4 via a link to mp4 converter site. BUT for some reason my videos are very laggy

i have too much media gallery storage like 250 GB and need to transfer these clips. where do you get that USB like the link and after transferring the clips, does it decrease the storage on your console.
Great video thank you! Been doing this for like a week or so. But I noticed when I copy clips to the usb. Then attach it to my phone via USB dongle. It saves the clip AND the thumbnail for the video. Which is annoying lol. I have to go thru and delete ALL the thumbnails and not the clips and it's a pain. Anyone know if there's a way to transfer without the thumbnails?? Lol. Thank you!
You can. You have to format it. I’m not sure the technical terminology but one type of format is for games and the other is for the media gallery items. At least that was my experience. Good luck!
