    God can we please skip back in time to this trip! It was so much fun! Every time I watch one of these videos again I remember how much fun we had! We for sure need to meet up this next summer if possible!

      If you figure out how to do that, make sure you take me along with you! Lol
      That was so much fun! And now that winter is here, I really start reflecting back on the meetup. We definitely have to do something again next year!
      Thanks man!

    Very cool to see the departure! By the time you were talking about the park ranger girl I was passed out! Weird that I only had like 5 hours of sleep in the 48 hours leading to this vid! Thanks for the kind words brotha - hope we can do it again soon!

    great video, beautiful scenery, man that place is just so big and vast! hope Gabe has now fully recovered, just catching up on some of the video's I've missed, That road king is awesome, really motor's along, cool!

    • @ShawnSmoak
      @ShawnSmoak  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Cliffy! It can be almost frighteningly vast. Reminds you of just how insignificant you are in places like that! I think Gabe is all but healed up now. I haven't asked if there's and lingering issues... No problem with catching up, it's getting really tough to keep up with everyone we all follow... That ol Road King, I sure love that gal. Thanks!

    So cool that you made some life long friends. XXXDeadhead,StripBolt,Gabe,Bret ( I hope I didn't forget anyone ) seem like really cool, and genuine guys. So wish I was there. I hope you guys plan something again soon. Thanks for the vids. Keep them coming. :)

      I can't really say that I was surprised, but I was so happy they were as cool and genuine as I thought they would be. I know we'll go on rides again. I've mentioned to Gabe that I may buzz down to the Bay area to just hang out for a couple rides around their area and shoot the bull. Been years since I've been down there anyway... Lol
      Maybe we could plan some kind of meet up?
      Thanks Richard!

    I was hoping there was more footage of your Utah trip. Thanks for filling in more info on Gabe and what happened in the following days. It's good that he did get to at least see some of the places he didn't get to ride. I do love that country side and riding along on your Road King makes it even better. Thanks!

      The weather setting in up here has got me reflecting back on the summer and all the rides. I thought I'd sit down and finish this trip out... Sorry it's just the journey back home that's left, but at least the project will get completed for those that'll hang in there that long... Lol
      Something tells me this Utah trip could turn into an annual tradition. We all keep talking about returning...
      That old Road King, she's a sweet ol gal. I don't even recall when I rode her last. It was the day prior to the last video I uploaded of her, whenever that was...
      Thanks Sam!

      Thanks for finishing it up for us. You always want to read the final chapter even though you know how it ends. Wouldn't that be something if you could make it regular thing?
      I do love the Road King videos but only just a little more than your other bikes. When you are cruising on that big girl I feel like I'm riding her too. My next favorite has to be your old Venture. I'm just a retro kinda guy I guess but she is the closest thing to my old XS1100 that I see ridden anywhere. Now if I had an Iron or Spyder......... well things might be different. :-)
      Thanks again and take care.

    Really nice to see more of this fantastic trip after a while away from it.
    It's great that you made some genuine friends out there Shawn, that doesn't happen often enough does it?
    Looking forward to the next part mate. Great stuff, loved all the vids from this trip.
    All the best.

      @ShawnSmoak  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know if this happens with age, or the fact that moving up here from Texas was like moving to another country for me, but it seems to be tough to find genuine friends nowadays... I knew these guys were going to be awesome before I ever met them in person. I can tell by your videos and our conversations that meeting you would be the same way. It's really odd to meet someone for the first time that you already know! Very surreal...
      I hope these last videos aren't too boring by just being the return trip home and all... I just felt like I left the project incomplete.
      Thanks Rob!

      Shawn Smoak I guess the big worry is if they aren't the type of person you're expecting or hoping them to be.
      Thanks for the compliment, you old smoothie.
      In all honesty I don't think you've ever produced a boring video, I'll be sure to tell you if you ever do mate. Haha.

    • @ShawnSmoak
      @ShawnSmoak  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      There was that bit of apprehension that they might be different, I have to admit. But that was just me being foolish, as I can be...
      Lol, the compliments are well deserving Rob! And thank you in return for the compliment. I feel like you wood tell me if I bunged up a video, and that's comforting to know.
      Thanks, and take care.

    Those camper vans are crazy. I remember using one about twenty years ago, and just from that three day experience, I know that an RV is not for me. They can be a lot of work to take care of and both me any my wife felt claustrophobic staying in that thing.

      +Betty Anziano - Thank you so much for the dedication Betty, you're awesome!
      The most recent trip was the "Spyders in the Redwoods 2015" with Kelly and I on the 2015 Spyder RT-SPE. You can view these in groups by selecting a Playlist here: th-cam.com/users/fzrsmkrplaylists Once you select the playlist, it will play all the videos in the list. Of course you can stop it at any time is you wish...
      I do have tons of photos that were taken during these trips, but have yet to sit down and organize and post them anywhere... I'll let you know once I get that done, as that was one of my winter projects to complete this year.
      Again, thanks for watching and commenting on the videos!

    Looks like a nice trip back after a nice relaxing weekend, that RK sounds so damn good when it's rumbling along there, haha. How's your wrist feel after that long trip, gets stupid numb after awhile, cramp buster's great but I kinda want my next distance bike to have cruise control, haha.

    A tremendous amount of work is ordered for my bike. I plan on doing another walk around video after the bike gets back from the shop. Here is what is being done to my bike over the next week. Remove rear wheel. 1) Repair The shoddy temporary fix to the wire that connects the rear lights with the front lights. 2) Replace valve stem in the rear tire as well as inspect and improve the beed on the rear wheel that causes a slow leak in the rear tire. 3). A Complete rebuild of engine. new valve seals. New rings. Hone cylinders. All gaskets,seals etc. 4).Repair connection to cigarette lighter power port. 5).Diagnose the overload on system when the fog lights are turned on. Resulting in loss of all illumination to front lights. Then repair it. Afterwards I'll replace the windshield. The previous owner must have attached a string to the one on the bike right now. Placed it on the ground face down and dragged it around for a bit. All in all, No oil leaks from this point on. Holds oil pressure. No white smoke. No electrical gremlins. Followed by a serious wash and detail. Then ride.

    Where did you guys get your gas from? And it is funny to see two of the most famous motor vloggers together. I watched all of XXXDeadHeads and then I find out you were there with him. Great stuff! THANKS!

    Great video's, beautiful scenery and amazing bikes. I have 1 question, here in Scotland those desert roads would have a 60mph speed limit, why is the speed limit there only 30mph in the middle of nowhere, seems crazy.

      I never noticed that until making this, but that looked like a flashback to an early eighties St Helens stream plume... This was just north of Ogden, so it must have been an odd cloud formation...

    Probably be next spring or summer till the next meetup ha? Looked like a nice getaway. Have you had a chance to ride the new Street 750? I did, and felt really light. I also rode the Fat Bob 2015, which was awesome!

    New subscriber here. Great videos! Nicely made. Just curious, how many bike do you have? and do you really commute 70+ miles to work everyday like in the sporty 72 video?

    If you plan a ride out to Santa Cruz and meet up with XXXDEADHEAD I'm game. Count me in. Now that my 1997 FatBoy is having an engine rebuild,rings,valve seals and a complete gasket replacement along with several electrical gremlins fixed I'll be ready.
