F.L.Y (Re-Launch 2nd Launch; morgendliche Testfahrten)[Hotel Charles Lindbergh View]

Vom Hotel Charles Lindbergh habe ich die morgendlichen Testfahrten von F.L.Y. beobachtet. In diesem Video sieht man wie ein Zug in den zweiten Launch gebracht wird und nach einiger Zeit von dort neu gelauncht wird. Ich vermute, dass in der Zwischenzeit Züge in der Station bzw. vom Abstellgleis rangiert wurden.

Sie fährt sich tatsächlich morgens anders als abends. Spannend.

Ja, das ist so. Am Abend ist alles aufgewärmt und deshalb schneller. Merkt man fast bei allen Achterbahnen, dass das so ist

This can happen as the wheels are not warmed up in the morning. The lubricant is not as viscous yet and it just needs to be warmed up....running a few empty trains (or with the leg less test dummies) will get it up to speed again :) I never understood the people that would run to a ride when the park just has opened..... you should know that roller coasters run faster in the afternoon as the lubricants of the wheels are then warmed up :) or just a plain electricity dip..... these launches are power hungry.....It's a good thing someone thought about block sections on rollercoasters :)

yes, this video shows the test runs in the morning. The train has intentionally stopped in the launchtrack, so there is more space in the station to bring more trains on track. If the train fails 2nd launch it runs more up the hill till the end of launch section.

To put powered launches in perspective a ride with just one loop back and forward (psyké underground) consumes 7 megawats in the first 3 seconds of launch. 1,5 times the power usage of the entire park (Walibi belgium) :) The brakes of that ride are entirely powerless (magnetic brakes) - It's a origional Schwarzkopf shuttle loop rebuild without the flywheel. now repling on a launched section instead of the flywheel
