A friend on Facebook had her boyfriend playing this for her for Valentines Day. OMG! Took me straight back to the 80’s. This was one of my favorite songs. I’m 60 now and listening to this makes me feel 22 again! Awesome!
You said that right! One of my favorites too! I drive for Uber Eats and I sing this song every time I'm on the road because I can't take the time to put music on while driving. Love his voice and songs but this is the one I love the most. I was in high school when the song came out and had the tape and listened to it a lot. Can't believe I haven't got a CD of this music yet. I listen to it on TH-cam when I can and have it saved on playlist to hear when working out.
This song came to me from God. I have no reason to have this song stuck in my head. It has been 20 plus years since I listened to anything by Journey. Yet, I am at work hearing this song note-for-note and word-for-word. I never listened to this song at any time in my life. I see visions of my 💘 while it plays in my head. Our love is much like this song. Tonight I played it six times in a row. It sounds just as good in my head. How can my brain remember a song that, for many years, had no meaning to me note-for-note? I cried all six times.
I had this song stuck in my head for three days. Just the melody. Tried to find it via compilations of 80's songs but couldnt. So frustrating. Then this morning it just popped into my head suddenly "that's Journey!" Funny thing I never really listened to Journey, only Oh,Sherry Foolish Heart and Dont Stop Believing. Have no idea how this song ended up tapeworming my brain. Cant stop listening to it now. Great song !!!!
They just do not make music like this anymore. I mean, it's like it was a requirement to have at least a minute-long guitar solo back then, and the music in general for a majority of the songs was great. It's sad to see how far the music industry has fallen.
I am part of this generation but I don't like any of this generations music I like the old time music like Journey' Led Zepplin' Pink Floyd' and so on. Rock on!!!!
“Gods only commandment is to love others as I have loved you. Awaken, and drink the water of life for free without guilt. Mine is the glory and the kingdom” Jesus Christ
my fav parts "in a lovers' rage they tore another page the fighting is worth the love they save " &&"only so many tears you can cry til heartache is over and now you can say your love will never die"
I must say that the song that's sung by Journey "Who's Crying" brought back so much memories. I am in my early fifties now and these songs have such meaning, honesty, purity as well as density. Thanks.
Steve your voice sends chills through out my body MAN!!!!! that voice it blows me away. I would love to hear from you again . I wish that you would deside to come back because you are very well missed by your true fans.
I’ve always admired this song but even more so now. A friend of mine passed away a short time ago. We used to always talk music and a few weeks ago we went through journey songs and talked about our love for this song. It’s been rough without him at work and I wish we could’ve been better friends outside of work but I guess I’ll never get that chance. Just wanted to throw this message out there to anyone here to never take good people in your life for granted.
I heard this song earlier today, and hadn’t heard it in such a long time, it hit me because my mother just passed and this song brings back so many memories. I’m crying now mom, I’m sorry for everything and I miss you.
Damn man, Journey was a great freaking band. I'm glad I had the privilege of hearing this kind music as a kid , this type of music will die with the artists and those who love it, hope I'm wrong 😮💨
I miss the 80s I grew up listening to all music because my dad is a musician who played everything in the house when we were kids so I was exposed to all music
Only the Young can Say is one of My Fav Journey songs because it brings Me back to being a boy in the 80’s the best Generation ever! Times were so good back then. Movies The “Outsiders” Ferris Buellers Day Off, Back 2 The Future.. and so many more. Playing “Release” “Whiffle Ball, Riding Bikes Outside w/ Neighborhood Best Friends. Economy was solid, no tech to distract from Socializing from generated computers. Incredible times.. 😢Miss them
Who cares what they think, Shameka Jenkins? The reason that I am saying this is because the reality is that good music is just another way to tell a good story, and, as anyone can tell, a good story transcends cultures because, at their root, they are universal in scope and in nature. You just need to realize that, as well as understand that the story speaks to you, and that you enjoy what you not only listen to what you want, but also what you feed, and what you need to know is real in your own life.
As far as I'm concerned if being G means you can't listen to Journey then screw that noise. Be yourself, no matter what others think lol I've always been a misfit and I love it cause you never have to worry about getting the approval of social groups. I can always be me, no matter who doesn't like it
Speak your mind, follow your heart, and go with what you like. If the people in the hood act this way, they are holding you down, racists, and not true friends.
Every generation says their music is the best but, honestly we from the '70s & '80s were truly blessed by amazing lyrics, musicians and vocals. This new stuff is amateurish.
I'm listening to this today, thinking about the love of my life that I lost 4 years ago to suicide. It's the worst and most invasive pain one can go through to lose someone that you can't replace and know you'll never find someone like them that can take that pain away. Knowing I have a long way to go before I'm old and having lost him so young. It makes the thought of growing old seem a punishment. It hurts the same today as it did 4 years ago getting the phone call. Jason Harris Leonard 8/27/1979- 6/04/2015 you're always in my 💓
I play all these beautiful 80’s tunes for my 4 yr old grand daughter. She loves music and I want her to listen to awesome stuff not the junk out there on the radio today.
I just saw Journey here live in concert in San Antonio, TX. And they were bad ass. Unfortunately it was not the original singer of Journey due to a break up with the band. the new lead singer sounded just the same though.😊
So many people reminisce in the comments of these videos of old music. Sadly, I'm a 2000s kid and never got to experience the 80s, but I have one thing to say to that: Long live Rock N' Roll!
He is the BEST , NO DENYING HIS INCREDIBLY INSANE VOCAL TALENT!! 💗u #StevePerry!! Played such a HUGE role in #80sMusic!! Music, has Neva Been the same since! #80s4Eva
Thanks for making this - its one of those golden nuggets that accompanies you through a time in your life - as life moves on so does the music. You made me have a think, routing out my vinyl and enjoying it all over again. It also made me realise I listened to some weird stuff as a child. Thankfully, I grew as did my musical tastes. The better thing is that I am now amazed at what I missed but I still have time to pursue music in all its forms. Thanks again ;-)
Funny how everybody thinks their generation has the best music. Ask my grandparents and they would have told you music started it's downhill slide when Hank Williams Sr. died, my mother will tell you it started to fall during the British invasion of rock, I'll tell you it started it's downward slide at the beginning of the 80's, my kids will tell you that the 90's had the best music. My point is this. All music is good, it just depends on who is listening to it.
I remember on an episode of Criminal Minds Spencer Reid commented that "... no music ever impacts us as much as that which we listen to at age 14." I love CCR, BTO, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Charlie Pride. My parents used to play them when I was little. I also like Imagine Dragons, Maroon 5 and a boat load of other songs that my girls listen to today. But no matter what, I always find myself heading back to music circa 1980. Bat Out of Hell, Def Leppard, Journey, Queen. Sometimes for the music, sometimes just for the memories. Life would be boring if we didn't switch it up once in a while.
I totally agree with that but there is always an acception to every rule specially involving people. Born in the 2000's generation this is much better than the majority of music that is being created these days.
j san Not really, I strongly disagree with you! Its 2018, and my16 yr old and his friends LOVE 80s music and agree there is NOTHING like 80s music. Even our church at all the church retreats they play 80s music! A lot of the stores and restaurants in our play 80s music. I have 4 children, my youngest 9 yrs old...her friends love 80s!!
Journey had so many good songs. This is just one of them.
spideraxis Yes they do, I agree
I agree
The best of them! I have the greatest hits album and my top 3 are this one, Send Her My Love, and Wheel in the Sky.
And to this day they still do.
Fuck yes very much agreed
Thank you God for voice like Steve Perrys! ❤️
I know right
Amen
The crazy thing is how good he sounds live. Watch there concert in Houston it's amazing
What a voice
Yes. A Shame he had to step away from the band many years ago due to a hip injury and other health issues. :(
A friend on Facebook had her boyfriend playing this for her for Valentines Day. OMG! Took me straight back to the 80’s. This was one of my favorite songs. I’m 60 now and listening to this makes me feel 22 again! Awesome!
Same here with precisely the same ages and decade, too. ❤️
I'm 63 right now and feel this song like the first time I heard it long live the 80's!!!.
I saw Steve Perry singing wheel in the sky on MTV in 1981 for the first time. I been in love with him ever since. I'm 52 now.
Journey recorded so many amazing songs. A fantastic band.
Not in my era, but i really love this song. Can't grow tired of it. His voice is amazing.😍😍👍👍👌👌
Steve Perry has amazing voice and Journey is awesome.
Journey was number #1 in the 80's...
Great voice, great band, great lyrics. I grew up with this beautiful music, 70s and 80s are and will be the best forever and ever. Real musicians.
Everything right except for Green Day, they're garbage.
rebeca lozano O grew up in the 2000s and I love these guys!
lol I'm growing up with trash music. i have to go to TH-cam to listen to good music. I wish I grew up when you did. not in the generation
rebeca lozano Yes ma'am it is
i think so to i agree i never thought i will miss the 70s and 80s now they are so precious to me to look back at those times
they don't make music like this anymore. awesome guitar solo!
One of my favorite songs by Journey. Our generation had and still have the best music.

A lot of things are better nowadays but music will never be as good as this again
Amen...❤❤❤❤❤

Maybe your relationship is based on the lyrics .
One of the Greatest Sings ever written!!! Brilliant!!
Agreed 👍👍
I grew up with all of these older bands. And this band is BY FAR my favorite.(: never gets old.(:
But you just said they were old?
Nicholas Hamilton Old in history. Always new in life.
Yep the Eagles, Journey, Boston etc.... Great times and great music
one of the most amazing concerts I’ve ever been to. every song touches you with the meaning and the lyrics.
I was born in the wrong time. But 80s music lovers like myself will keep this shit alive forever!
You were born in the perfect time. All the old and the new at your fingertips. How's that not a bonus?
I love this song. Journey is one of my favorite bands.
Me too
Three songs- Who's Crying Now, Hotel California, and Woman in Love. Nothing else is so fantastic, great beat, smooth vocals, deep feeling.
4 for me! That list, but adding I Can't Tell You Why
I cherish others just as much as those three
Me also luke

One of the best “power ballads” of all time! Journey was king!
All journey songs sounds good due to Perry's incredibly extraordinary voice
I must say that the song that's sung by Journey "Who's Crying" brought back so much memories. I am in my early fifties now and these songs have such meaning, honesty, purity as well as density.

I had to listen to this song several times to check, know if it is good/worthy on one of my playlists,
And It Is!!!
That solo guitar 🙌🏼😻
It's of higher quality in the Revelation version.
I heard this song earlier today, and hadn’t heard it in such a long time, it hit me because my mother just passed and this song brings back so many memories. I’m crying now mom, I’m sorry for everything and I miss you.
