That final scene was fucking so beautifully shot. The music. The scene. The way they kissed. The lighting. The way everyone realized it doesn't matter because they are happy. They way they learned to accept themselves. MAGNIFICENT!

Netflix needs to green light this project as an original series. I want, actually no, I need at least a full season of this story. The script, direction, and acting by the two leads was exceptional. I rarely comment on any videos, but this one touched and moved me so much. My heartfelt congratulations to all involved!

Finally! A film about homophobia/internalized homophobia that is both realistic and doesn't end in tragedy. I wish I had seen this when I was in high school. It would have saved me years of longing and heartache. Sensitively acted and beautifully shot. Bravo to all of you!!!

@@donshaw9787 Skam (serie) season 3. You don't need to see the first and second season to understand. There are different version of this serie in plenty european language. There are the asian drama (categorized BL) also.
I agree. My experiences through youth and into adulthood were so shameful, full of hatred and just negative. It's so wonderful to experience the happily ever after so many mainstream heterosexual couples get. The build up was tense but the pay off is well worth it.

You don't need to force yourself to talk to women if you're not gay. That's what I do. I don't understand people who think that, just because you're never seen talking to women it means you're gay. I know many women may find men who identify as gay more interesting. But what about the moment they see them in bed with another man ? They may stop being s£xually interested in the guy.

It is true after the death of Jesus and birth of Christianity that Church ban the practice of Homosexuality, but you know the real reason why? they did this, they realize that Homosexuals' doesn't gave birth to children!!!!!. That Church need MEN to be Soldiers for them to carry their religion to future generations. They put cage around women and their eggs with marriages and basically told them (the Homosexuals) if you don't give this up it either death and no children. The Church ban the method of Birth Control and Condoms and abortions for their own ambitions.

Excellent. J’accorde une attention toute particulière au professeur d’histoire qui est vraiment génial dans son rôle.
C’était LE dialogue du court-métrage et il l’a fait d’une manière si naturel et sincère, on avait même pas l’impression qu’il jouait, félicitation à lui et félicitation à tous les autres acteurs et figurants!
Puis évidemment félicitation et merci au producteur pour ce film :)
Les deux garçons jouaient très bien aussi, en particulier celui qui était "le gay caché".

A deeply felt film that covered a lot of ground about coming out. Thomas not only came out himself, but he brought Esteban with him. I loved the defiance in the last frames.

This is an excellent short and could really work as a full-length movie. The actors playing Esteban and Thomas are brilliant, especially in that first lip-locking encounter after the spin-the-bottle incident. Esteban is so full of self loathing and rage due to the inner torment of his sexuality that it finally erupts in unexpected passion when he starts kissing/mauling Thomas. After Esteban left, Thomas was so confused and in shock, almost as if he felt sexually assaulted. Then as it sunk in, he acted very differently in their next encounter and even became a little aggressive in their next one after that. This could easily become a 90-minute film when we see the aftermath of Esteban and Thomas not only coming out as gay but as a couple. I hope the obviously talented writer is considering that.
I am more of a fragile Femboy Furry Fox who loves Alpha Male Wolves with abs and long c0cks. I would feel more comfortable being gay in a fursuit with another gay fursuiter in a hotel room, than as a regular gay man whose s£xuality is known by everyone
When you feel people staring at you, don't look away. You look at them right into their eyes. You keep staring right at them. Like saying: "Yeah that's right, I accept myself!"
I actually do that naturally but i only recently noticed it, it's super awkward but i can confirm it is imposing... or the other guy judges me and thinks i have weird social skills... either way, looking a person in the eyes brings presence and if you want to make a point, it is key

I rarely comment on videos but this short movie is too profound, too significant and too powerful to not to. And I must add that this simply needs to continue as a movie. That first scene under the stairs is just wow, amazing acting from Esteban, it was like he had two people inside of him, one hating himself for who he truly was, and one desperately wanting to be with Thomas. No words for the final scene, it was perfect. I can't help but saying that in the end Esteban's great fear wasn't coming out, but losing the other guy.
The short film is incredibly beautiful and touching. Direction and acting are so cool💔

this short film was incredible, the dialogue, the cinematography, the music score, most of all the symbolism. i adored the cinematography and symbolism in this film! the way Esteban holds onto his girlfriend during the prom dance scene as thomas approaches him, he looks at thomas in fear, his eyes are screaming no not yet and in response he clings onto his girlfriend tightly, the camera shows his hands just grasping the skin of her back conveying how he hides behind her truly in reality, conveying how behind his touches which communicate love and admiration there is desperation and desire, for all but her. the way they kiss as if no one else is in the room, and when they finish the best and my most favourite scene in the film unfolds, they stare directly into the camera, at us, they stare at us as if they are telling US the audience , what? i accept myself, and so it’s YOU that needs to change, just as the man had told him. it gave me chills. the story was wonderful, although there were times i couldn’t stand the character of Esteban ahaha, i hated to see how he projected his internalized homophobia out on thomas, the scene where he insults and kissed him made my stomach twist with both pity and anticipation. pity for thomas that perhaps his first real kiss is laced with confusion and fake hate, but anticipation for what is to come now that we know he is truly gay. it was just perfect, well done!!!

You should've seen how passionate I was! 🤭 Trust me,he won't be using the term in any negative manner in future.

i just loved everything about this short film. i could feel what the actors were portraying and feeling. i just wish that people would be more accepting of the lgbtq community and not treat them so differently. it’s freaking 2023 and it’s time everybody grows up. need more teachers like the professor in this film who can educate more about this and encourage youngsters to accept people the way they are. “It’s the society that needs to change, not them”

Superb! Superb! Superb! In a year where nothing was normal, your film has taken a giant leap to "normalize" what many people foolishly consider abnormal behavior. As the teacher so rightly said, in ancient times, all people believed in was love. And here we are 2,000 years later, still assigning labels to people and insulting them every day for being who they are. This film should be mandatorily be seen by anyone and everyone. I just wanna comment on the character who said "oh so he's your type?" So casually to his friend. That's an awesome way to react, I love it. I also love how the other character didn't act too offended, just "no, no way! I was checking out her."
It was just a very wholesome interaction.

What a lovely film. I found it particularly touching that the people who truly helped the main character were all LGBT men from an older generation. It's such a nice touch, because generally speaking, us LGBT folks have to rely on each other when dealing with homophobia.

I am thinking of my friend that is gay. Only me and two others knows about this about him, not even his family. If he comes out, he will be put to death. The law in his country regarding this is horrible. :(

Vous n'avez EN AUCUN CAS le DEVOIR de divulger votre sexualité. Vous n'avez en AUCUN CAS le devoir de faire un "coming out" que ce soit à vos amis ou à votre famille. Est-ce qu'un hétéro s'assoit a table pour dire "papa, maman... j'aime les femmes..." ? Bah non. Pour les autres c'est pareil, vous ne devez rien à personne. C'est censé être naturel comme n'importe quelle autre relation hétéro. Vous vous ramenez avec votre copain/copine, sans devoir au préalable prévenir que ce soit un genre en particulier, une race en particulier ou je ne sais quoi.
Ce court métrage est super, et il l'aurait été encore plus si la notion de coming out était un poil plus abordée. Lorsque son pote dit "bah ouais mais mec t'aurais du me le dire aussi" ou "eh tu me le dirais si t'étais gay" il aurait fallu répondre NON ! Sinon, ce CM est magistral. Bravo à toute l'équipe de production et aux acteurs qui ont été formidable.

LOOOOOOVED THIS!! I'm so impressed with the acting. These two leads knocked it out of the park! The scene under the stairs was one of the most intense and heartbreaking scenes I've seen in a short film. I truly enjoyed the teachers explanation on homosexuality and loved how that moment turned things around for our characters. We live in a world where being your authentic self is still something to be hidden or ridiculed. But that last scene is a truly beautiful moment. Bravo to this film and hope more Queer films help others understand the importance of love and acceptance.
C’est incroyable, et en même temps ça m’attriste, parce que pour beaucoup de jeunes de la communauté lgbt c’est leur quotidien. Alors là oui c’est un court métrage et le gars s’en ai remis au bout de dix minutes et a été embrassé son gars au bal, mais pour la majorité d’entre nous ça prend des années pour se remettre de cette homophobie quotidienne. Alors merci pour le message parce qu’on ne sensibilisera jamais assez les gens. Et si vous êtes victime d’homophobie n’hésitez jamais à en parlez et ne gardez pas ça pour vous, il y a toujours une personne qui vous voudra du bien (parfois on l’oublie). 🤗

Je ne sais pas si ton commentaire m’étais destiné mais je ne me considère absolument pas comme un pro-Lgbt, donc tu vois même un gay lambda peut se faire harceler aha. Je pense que le regard indiscret est effectivement présent au quotidien ainsi que les messes basses mais ça a la limite on s’y habitue.
Au niveau du harcèlement je dirait que pour pas mal de gens et moi y compris la scolarité est la pire étape. Ce sont des commentaires quotidien parfois même en classe quand je passait à l’oral et devant mes profs et personne ne réagissait. Même parfois devant mes potes. Le plus dur c’est que quand tu es jeune tu te construit du coup sur le principe que tu es un peu seul face à tout le monde et tu apprends à t’écraser et à essayer de te cacher. Et même en essayant de te cacher les gens arrivent encore à venir te chercher. Un exemple concret: je venais au collège à vélo et tout les jours on me crevait les pneus pour que je rentre chez moi à pied. En fait la route que j’empruntais était là même que les bus scolaires du coup les gens ouvraient les fenêtres et me lançaient des insultes homophobes. Et ça c’était tout les jours pendant mes 2 dernières années de collège.

This was masterful. The depth of story told in this "short" exceeds what many longer form productions have tried & failed to do & that level of talent - in the writing & acting - just blows my mind.
I was so scared that this would take a dark turn & if it had been an American creation it likely would have. I could too easily see this ending with Thomas injured or killed in a hate crime & Esteban left to grapple with his reaction to that. Would he think Thomas "got what he was asking for" & brush off his attraction to the other boy as just an aberration brought on by a drunken dare or would it cause him to face the violence within himself that hadn't been able to accept that he was attracted to boys too? It could have been a compelling alternative to explore, but the "bury your gays" trope in media is something that we need to see ended along with the use of "gay" & "f@g" as insults. The way that this actually ended was beautiful, powerful & perfect. Taking that advice to stare in defiance at any who may hate, fear or judge you & turning it on the viewers to leave it to them to accept that we're here, we're queer, get used to it or just look/go away. It hits. With those in the community, it's a reminder of when we accepted & embraced our whole self & an invitation to do the same if you're questioning or closeted. For outsiders, it's a reminder to check your bias because if you have any problem with any other person simply existing or living their own life then you're the problem, not them & you need to fix yourself not us.
I feel like this comment is longer than the video & likely doesn't convey the message I want it to so TLDR, I loved this. Thank you for sharing it.

This is srsly one of the best short films I’ve ever seen. Not only is the topic great (lets go representation!) but the actors are amazing, the music, the lighting, the cinematography, everything! I mean that final scene was just... wow, and the way they stared down the camera, I loved that, the concept is amazing and the production design as well. I hope to make a film like this one day too. Magnificent.

Justamente en estos últimos meses había estado pensando en maneras de combatir la homofobia, porque tengo 40 años y soy profesor y veo como mis estudiantes de 20 años repiten los mismos errores y conductas que se critican en este video. Ese profesor me ha inspirado mucho y el final del vídeo me ha encantado. Muchas gracias
