The count: Strahd The curse: A woman The castle: A mental asylum that your players think is a castle, because they cannot say what is real What a twist
I uploaded the Fortune Teller Narration as a separate video for anyone who might want to use it in their own game. If so, you can find it here: th-cam.com/video/dip_cUE-3mA/w-d-xo.html
This is so great. Just found this module then and your video of it, will definitely use your map. Running it this weekend using Tales of Argosa, which has. Luck mechanic that is similar to the module’s stress mechanic. If the players survive I may make it a campaign based loosely on the Empire of The Vampire novels setting, as this adventure fits it perfectly.
Any chance I can get that map from you? I'm planning to do this (based on your review) as a "Halloween Special" online and Since Foundry + Shadowdark = AWESOME, I'd like to add in a map.
Awesome! Yeah, absolutely - happy to share. I did just want to note, I made several changes to the map, so it may take a little adapting on your part. Here's a link. Never posted anything to imgur before, let me know if you have any issues. imgur.com/a/map-count-castle-curse-mgqTGZC Let us know how your game goes!
The characters were level 3, though technically they could probably win without fighting (so, at level 1). Let me think about the best way to get that audio to you. If I made a TH-cam video with just that audio, would that work for you?
@LaserCat006 Hey! I've uploaded the narration to a separate video so you all can use it. Link to that video here: th-cam.com/video/dip_cUE-3mA/w-d-xo.html
I'm in a 5e campaign of Curse of Strahd. Will this be a spoiler for that, or vive-versa? I'd like to run this for a group of players from that Strahd campaign.
Hey, I've been following your channel for the past couple weeks and binging your videos ever since I started getting into Shadowdark... I love the content, but are you aware that you tend to "uptalk/upspeak" a lot... it's when you end sentences like a question by raising your voice at the end. It's a minor issue and maybe it's just me, but I find it a little distracting. Anyway, do you think this adventure could be run in a tight 4 hour time limit? I'm thinking of running this on Halloween at my local game store...
Awesome! Thanks for watching and leaving your feedback - I really do appreciate it. Yes, this is something I'm aware of and working on (I also find it incredibly annoying lol). In terms of running this in 4 hours, it's probably possible, but difficult. Here are some things you can try: Give your players a document ahead of time that explains all the special mechanics and includes the Fortune Teller's info so you can skip that on game day. Consider removing some rooms. I found the Servant's Quarters to be non-essential, but you'll have to move the stairs up to the reception all into another room (I recommend the Audience Hall, that's what I did). You can also consider removing the Cauldron Room. This removes one means of escape from the game, but (in my opinion) it's one of the hardest to do anyway, especially if you only have four hours. Lastly, even though it's one of the coolest rooms, you can remove the Witch's Kitchen (which can take a long time) and move the priest elsewhere in the castle (maybe trapped in a sarcophagus in the catacombs or Count's Tomb). Optionally, he can be guarded (or about to be eaten) by one of the female vampires, if you want a combat encounter. Hope that helps! Best of luck with your game. Let us know how it goes!
What’s your favorite version of Castle Ravenloft? Thanks for watching!

Yes, to some extent. This adventure gives details about Strahds backstory, though it does have a slightly different twist on it.
@@RuneforgedTTRPG Thanks so much, I really appreciate you answering! Great content, I'm now subscribed!
