What is the function of store?
(i) To make available a balanced flow of raw materials, components, tools, equipment and other stores required for operation. (ii) To provide maintenance materials, spare parts and general stores as required. (iii) To receive and issue materials after physical inspection and proper identification.
What is PAC item in railway?
Stores procured for Railway's operation include the items purchased under Proprietary Article Certificate (PAC). These items are required to be purchased from a specified firm on single tender basis and include safety and vital items and also emergency purchases.
What is CSR length in railway?
The Clear Standing Room (CSR) of loop lines and Main line is 686 Mtrs at most of. the existing stations on Single line as well as Double line sections on this Railway.
What is store department in railway?
The Stores department manages about 200 warehouses that feed into the repair workshops and maintenance sheds. The Warehouses called depots headed by a Depot Officer. Depots attached to workshops are headed by Dy. CMMs, and electric and diesel locomotive sheds headed by SMMs.
