Woke stuff may be absolutely obnoxious and limited, but in the US when the far right are flat earth/anti vax/religious cultist/coup attempting/military fetishist/billionaire simps ignorant of the many many flaws in the criminal justice system & think healthcare is for commies..it's honestly a small nitpick by comparison haha. Thank you so much my friends. It’s been over 11 years now. I lost my job, my marriage, developed serious drink and drug issues to cope, and have been close to suicide many times. I was an editor at 4Cs when the current Exec Producer was a journalist. He won $10k Eureka environmental journalism prize on a story I edited and kept it quiet and kept it all himself. Couldn't even buy a case of beer and say thanks. Dodgy journalistic practices too, absolute shonk. Good story Friendly Jordies that gives context that no media would. it has that special flavour to it cos we all understand why FJ is so damn angry at these vultures - they parade around, often on our tax dollars, gaslighting the public into thinking they're providing a service, when really they're just more parasitic leeches feeding off of systemic corruption/nepotism/collusion - absolutely disgusting, and I'm incredibly happy to see FJ show them genuine investigative practices with the full severity their traitorous behaviour warrants
I still remember when they harassed a teacher at my high school that everyone hated, and everyone in the school sided with the teacher purely because the complaint was so stupid
I'm American and we need more people like McBride and Snowden. They should be cleared all of this crap. They did the right thing and the corrupt people get to stay hidden and prosecute them.
oh the fact Snowden is technically a pawn between USA and Russia is so yucky. I honestly am baffled he chose Russia for asylum. western creature comforts without the threat of extradition? what if he decides to be a whistle-blower over there? he would be locked up right beside Evan from WSJ under suspicion of espionage. but I highly doubt USA cares about his welfare. what a situation! yikes

This sort of shit pisses me off so much as someone who is absolutely a "lefty loony" sort. You're entirely right that this sort of "journalism" is so focused on looking like they're in the right that they lose sight of what really matters. I honestly don't care if David McBride aligns fully with my politics and I don't know why they're trying to make out that his actions have an asterisk next to them because what he did was unequivocally GOOD! Not to mention that their support for LGBT+ people and the like is entirely conditional, and no amount of pandering will convince me otherwise.
Right? I wouldn't even give a fuck if what the abc said about him was true, he still should absolutely not be going to jail for it. Im fucking pissed after donating to the legal fund the case is shut before it even began
@@Ihatemyusernamemore I mean, jordy kinda suggested that the USA support of LGBT is unconditional and would support LGBT even when they are going against the state.
I feel like the arguments went to far into the "professional managerial class has it out for McBride", and not far enough into the "they have directly been given a line to sell to the public by the State itself" angle. Saw similar games being played with the character assassination and legal harassment of Chelsea Manning across multiple US administrations. States do not like whistleblowers.
Exactly, America and its allies, in this case Australia need to justify a massive military build up against their great power rival China. The last thing they want is to undermine their already dwindling recruitment, unit morale and public support for said military expansion with a proper accounting of their crimes in these places, they especially don't want to implicate the commanders and politicians responsible for the war itself. This would present a serious obstacle to their aforementioned geopolitical goals, as would the Assange and Manning Case.
Exactly. They could play the same card with 'jordies has it out for the abc', but it doesn't matter a bit while that point stands. The having it out is a product of the line to sell, regardless of the form it takes - woke or anti-woke. Protecting their own is part of this. It's also why News Corp represents the other side of the coin to abc's poor coverage of mcbride & warcimes - protecting command and those they favour (with an all too familiar jingoism).
also, menitoning how "Chelsea Manning is free while Julian Assange is rotting in prison", she's free because she has spent her time in jail... while Julian Assange has been avoiding the trial, and since he's still not yet extradited to the US, he can't face the trial... I do believe that neither of them should be imprisoned, and that Assange should be freed, HOWEVER I wouldn't say it's fair to claim Chelsea has been let go scott-free

Thank you for telling us this! Journalists are the worst, even the so-called "good journalists" (😂 as if). If it weren't for your TH-cam channel we would not know what they hide. When my dad David Shaw died cave diving in South Africa in 2005 I went to his funeral there and was mobbed by journalists. Then The Australian published a photo of his dead body on their front page. Then young me (21yo) was roped into being interviewed by Australian Story (the interviewer tried to ask about negative family times!!!). Then 60 Minutes showed an American documentary on my dad without even telling my family. There's no end to their chase of a quick buck at other's expense. Chelsea Manning was imprisoned and subjected to a pretty brutal regime of psychological torture prior to her trial described as "cruel, inhuman and degrading" by the UN special rapporteur on torture. She served 7 of the 35 years she was sentenced to before Barak Obama commuted the sentence because it was considered disproportionate to the sentences served on other whistleblowers. She was subsequently jailed between feb 2019 and march 2020 for refusing to testify against Assange. Several attempts to end her own life were unsuccessful during that period. The UK district judge refusing the Assange extradition used Manning's experience of incarceration in the US in support of the refusal to extradite stating that the harsh conditions were likely to severely deteriorate Assange's mental condition. I do feel like she unjustly got short shrift in this "comedy bit". Never let 5 minutes on wikipedia get in the way of a good ol' chuckle or a good throw-away punchline... Yes, by all means, let's discuss journo standards...
The Chelsea bit rubbed me the wrong way too. On one hand I think he mentioned her release sarcastically in an attempt to parody FOX and the like, but at the same time I have a feeling not every member of the audience perceived it as such...

Well, I'm not feeling great about being American right now, but I do want to correct one thing: Chelsea Manning is free because she was tried and convicted and served her sentence. Julian Assange is currently in a British prison pending the results of an extradition deal to the US. He's been in prison for _5 years(!)_ after hiding in the Ecuadorian embassy in London for _9 years(!!)_ and has yet to be tried. Assange has been fighting extradition to avoid what would almost certainly be a political prosecution in the US in which it seems likely that he'd be convicted and sentenced to a long prison term _(the statutes he's accused of violating have some specific rules; a whistleblower or public interest defense is specifically disallowed, for example)._
Remember the weird hit pieces they used to put out on Assange. That he skateboards through the embassy and eats with his hands? Just like, the pettiest stuff to try and turn sentiment against him.
Allow me to correct your correction. Chelsea Manning is free because President Obama commuted her sentence. Had she served her sentence, she wouldn't be released in 2045, had he not done that. I find highly implausible that Obama would commute any sentence imposed on Assange.
I'm not exactly on board with Jordan's view that many of the ABC's faults come down to their publication of media concerned with gender or progressive ideology, though I 100% agree with his point about the ABC being incompetent when reporting on this story. It's taken five years for them to put out a half-arsed "investigative" journalism piece that they have been involved in since the start; misrepresenting much of the case in an effort to be viewed as "neutral" and not take risks.
Unfortunately when pitching a news story one of things that's of biggest importance is timeliness, why tell this story now? If you miss a story once or twice it can be completely missing from your coverage. With the ABC I honestly think alot of it comes down to not wanting to upset anyone politically, cause if they do budget cuts. I don't know if the perfect journalist exists, one not motivated by money or fame, yet consistent with quality work that appeals to a wide audience without being sensational. The ABC is in a no win situation. Either compromise the work or have your work compromised for you.
Is it ironic that Jordies hates it that the journos don't go after the higher ups but he himself is going after the journalists but not the higher ups? Y'know like the LNP and the board that stacked the ABC?
The point was that these corporations, and their highly paid talking heads, don't give a shit about that stuff. It is specifically being used as a distraction from more serious issues, often ones that affect the minorities they claim to rep with this stuff, or it is used to smear someone who is a threat. What is more important about this man, is it the war crimes he exposed, or his milquetoast misogyny? The war crimes thing, of course. Yet they barely gave a clipped summary of that issue and then put a bunch of time to focus on a misogynistic statement he made. They are employing an ad hominem to distract people from the war crimes.
Agreed. It seems Jordan has found out he too can get in on the "centrist" right wing talking point grift. Making vaguely transphobic remarks, unironically using "woke" and DEI, let alone defending FOX News?? Enjoy your Joe Rogan bucks I guess.
i know that there's a much bigger issue at play here, but i wish jordan would separate the weaponization of progressive language by the elite to cover their own bullshit and actual leftist ideology. the two are not the same. as someone who veers much farther to the left than these journos, i can say that what's being done to mcbride is despicable. a man can have questionable views about women in the military x years ago but still do a good, brave, selfless thing. it always comes down to nuance, and no one with a platform seems to be willing to engage with it.
thank you, like he could point out how its virtue signalling and show how theres anti-trans legislation the news arent reporting on but no. cheap jabs that add nothing.
Well technically you can only be to the right or left of an issue, it's all just getting mixed up in identity politics. It's not healthy to think of yourself as leaning a particular way, we have many layers of belief sure to contain conflicting truths. No one's truly non-dissonant

Honestly with the kind of gutter journalism seen in that episode, why would any gay footy player want to come out as 'the first' (I say this because many likely already have to their friends and teammates, and just don't want it in the public domain or to be forced into a position of activism)? They would immediately have any of their footy achievements, their career, made irrelevant and overshadowed. All while the media hounds them and defines them by their sexuality - seeking a Muad'Dib poster boy for their crusade. And you just know it would be latched onto by both sides of politics, being immeshed into the culture wars, etc.

As someone who used to work at the ABC I can tell you that most journos there are fine folk who do non-political news, public service news (like regional emergencies) and entertainment programs. The political side from what I saw was... weird. Some political ABC journos seemed to be there because they believed in what they were putting out but there was always a focus on reporting "safely", as in reporting in a way that wouldn't get them in trouble with either the audience, the government or other organisations. I legally can't speak much on other internal workings but just know that a lot of your complaints come from the workplace culture, production/editorial chain and the laws the ABC is beholden to. Keep in mind that these are observations from someone who was not at all influential at the ABC and did not have a long tenure there, just what I saw in my short time there. Keep up the good work Jordies!
I know someone who’s worked there for decades and second your observations. Might add that the person I know thinks Jordie and his team are darn good journos.
I don't know man. Maybe that's true, but it's one thing to be elitist, arrogant and obnoxious in public. And another to make people pay for it. No offense, but I hope it gets privatized and disposed of. Most of the people working there wouldn't cut it in a commercial environment
@@internethardcase the main thing to take away is that the vast majority of people that work at the ABC have nothing to do with the political side of the corporation.

Four Corners has turned to absolute shite in the last ten years. It used to be real journalism, investigating truly important matters, and now it's gone soft-soapy on us. Edit: Dan Oates has really proven just how much of a craven asshole he is with this episode. I hope he pays for it, he's legitimately fucked over a modern day hero here.
Manning and Assange prosecutions are in entirely separate courts under entirely separate code of laws (military uniform justice and federal criminal respectively). I agree with your broader points, but the “DEI” and “woke” shit is trendy window dressing, and only serves to weaken otherwise good arguments.
Exactly, plus Manning was in a fucking cement box in Quantico for 7 years in conditions that even the UN was calling inhumane. Dunno why Jordies is hitting this angle all of a sudden, especially considering all the time he's been spending with Boy Boy and Hasan lately.
this video is so deeply weird. the information being presented here is fascinating and important- i hadn't heard too much about david mcbride in the media, as jordie's so effectively pointed out, as it seems there's real malicious incompetence at work. i would've loved to hear more about the unobfuscated story from a source invested in his work, along with clear ways we could support this guy for daring to speak out despite the obvious danger, had this video not dedicated basically a third of its runtime to low effort 'le wokeisme' jokes and the baffling implication that coverage of marginalised issues is the reason these important stories are being covered dishonestly and not just like... because pink and rainbow washing are easy positions to take to appear like you're being countercultural while not committing hard enough to either to actually ruffle feathers. if it wasn't stories on nb people's lives, it would be some other drivel about financial advice from a millionaire's son or another investigation into the meat industry as though its many abuses aren't already widely known and denounced. i mean, the many detours into making fun of the dreaded blue hairs is basically the other side of the coin to the abc publishing another article about rates of depression in teenagers instead of actual investigative journalism. its pretty obvious that stories like mcbride dont get told is because they contain inconvenient truths for people in positions of power, and the australian media is controlled by monopolies who have vested interests in not revealing their own hand. if i owned over half of all the newspapers in the country, i sure as fuck wouldn't let my journos release stories on the war crimes my buddies in the adf are doing?? unless fucking rupert murdoch comes out as a trans woman tomorrow, i will remain unconvinced that its the 'woke left' controlling the nation's media output, and instead believe that it's probably due to pressure from the billionaires that pay their bills and the politicians who can weaponise their positions to squash dissent.
It certainly seems like Four Corners is missing the forest for the trees - the focus should be on US interventionism, uneven application of ROEs to determine and prosecute war crimes at the cost of someone's right to live free. But what they are focusing on about the ROEs also...seems important, too. The ROE change was being used as a smokescreen, yes, but US interventionism would have continued to exert pressure with or without them. And the rules that changed in the way they changed weren't the problem, but rather the (deliberate) lack of checks to stop psychopaths like Schultz and co from falsifying records, the (deliberate) lack of interest of within the Australian government to hold their own defense officials accountable. Fixating on the ROE as the root of the problem here is like getting smokescreened by the smokescreen. But a big part of Jordies' video focused on the "wokeification" of Four Corners, with a bizarre and continued usage of queer people (especially nonbinary people) as a comedic prop for hyucks. Like look, I don't want this shit to take the oxygen out of the room from McBride's heinous treatment at all. But this is like four videos in a row of the same skew, using the same groups as props, in the same "one joke" sort of way. It kinda feels like it's being used to either pad run length or give a pat on the back to the Murdoch Press lovers out there, and either way it feels kinda shit. Reminds me of when people were on him for the indigenous jokes, until *someone* got through to him to use more than the one joke about indigenous tribes in Australia. Fuck the ABC for their utter lack of a spine and the deliberate, wanton destruction of a man's life. Genuinely fucking disgraceful sort of behavior that should be sparking riots in the fuckin' streets. Trotting out the "but he might have been misogynist, therefore we believe consent to revoke him of his rights is morally justified" is such fuckin' transparent levels of manufactured consent. I'm glad that the channel continues to shine a light on this. I hope it spurs enough collective action not just within Australia, pressuring their elected officials to fuckin break with the US, but among US citizens. *Their* government is also responsible for causing a lot of this shit around the world, and it'd go a long fucking way if people organized to make them stop. It's probably one underacknowledged good of Jordies' vids getting pushed to Americans more. Look at what the fuck's going on, what's been done and what's being done off the back of American interest. Get involved so this shit doesn't keep happening, and stop thinking it's job done when the votes are cast. But having said that, leave the enbies out of this shit, hey? They don't deserve to be the watermelon to your Gallagher schtick all the fuckin' time. Shit's exhausting.

All the "Fox news is right" and anti me too parts of the video don't hit as interesting or funny to me, but I agree it's insane that they are putting the responsibility for justifying pulling the trigger on the soldiers. There is good content here, commanders covering their ass and bad journalist, but a lot of this video feels like you are trying to push an us vs them political narrative. It's always easier to tell people who to distrust, than to equip people with a nuanced take. Not that there isn't some nuance here, but something feels missing.
It’s alarming how certain narratives can be skewed or completely ignored, serving more as propaganda than the scrutiny of power journalism should aspire to.

Yeahhhh complaining about Me Too stories and putting it everything on identity politics is really shitty. I remember why I stopped watching his videos now. His misogyny is showing
As as a journalist I think you are one of the greats, but your conclusions are often missing the mark. I don't think "woke politics" is nearly as important to this case as your leading on to be. Rather I think the Australian government leans very hard into progressive stances to lull its populace into believing that the government actually wants to make those changes. As we know (a lot of it from your videos) the Australian government consistently makes very conservative decisions relating to actual policy while only making very progressive decisions when affecting to its populace directly. It is reminiscent of the moral posturing of the American conservatives but in a different direction.
Define progressive and conservative. The Australian government makes decisions that accrue it more permanent power over the people. Always. Left or right is at best a distraction from that
your point is exactly what I wanted to say. It's posturing to make it seem like the government is in line with progressive politics without actual substance to it.
I respect the Hell out of FriendlyJordies for both the risks he takes and the people he helps, BUT he's also starting to display some cloudy judgment. *For example:* blasting ABC for the "is Tic-Tok racist" thing made perfect sense, but then he ridiculed their exposure of sexual predators, because said predators were in a fancy school? Anyone else notice the hypocrisy in denouncing a story covering undocumented crime in a video fighting for whistleblowers? He PRETENDS it's just his usual anti-elitism, but the story he's mocking is about holding a bunch of rich assholes accountable for their actions. Jordie's always been a contrarian and a rebel, and it feels like he's letting those instincts cloud his logical/moral integrity in the name of endlessly opposing whatever values/opinions are mainstream.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who was put off by the "anti-woke" talks in the video, as well as the jabs at Chelsea Manning. It kinda gives me Ricky Gervais vibes, and not in a good way. Especially because there was absolutely no need to drag it into the conversation, it really did seem like an unwarranted attack worth of the worse right-wing propaganda. And it's worrying, because if this is how you treat information about the issues women and trans people face, it casts a very sad shadow on your coverage of everything else, which I'm sure is otherwise factual and unbiased.
@@BadJellyman100 exactly! Especially when, in his first videos about Barillaro, he got called out for being racist. Now if you just look at the Coronation video, it'll seem like Bruz is using his being Italian to avoid any criticism, and that is absolutely the impression I got and I'm sure he would totally do that. But now I'm starting to second guess myself, because if this is how FJ perceives "wokeness", perhaps there was some actual racism in his Barillaro attacks? Again, I'm not saying that's the case, I'm Italian myself and I don't think there was anything xenophobic about any of that (especially given how Italians have been "whitened" since the 1950s and earlier), and I'm not saying it makes Bruz innocent or the victim, at all, but you know, it does undermine FJ's credibility.
Fantastic video Jordie. As a veteran and friend of David's, I learnt so much more watching your informative video than I could have first thought! Well done mate! You really are a people champion.
"journalists whose job it is to report on warcrimes don't actually care about warcrimes, they just don't like toxic masculinity" is an argument more befitting of a crazed terminally online tumblr user than a serious news channel.
its definitely not just in order to run cover for the higher ups in the military like friendlyjordies themselves suggest too, its gotta be them not liking toxic masculinity right? it's so confusing why they water their own points down with that bullshit so much
Is "journos make useless articles on things that don't really matter to avoid touching on subjects that are actual societal taboos" more digestible for you?
While I completely agree that McBrides poloitical opinions shouldn't have anything to do with coverage of his case. And he deserves massive support for his whistleblowing actions. Your tangents about feminist and queer topics are also... completely irrelevant and distracting from the actual important parts. Capitalists twisting feminist and queer topics for pinkwashing doesn't reduce the original value of those actual topics. You going of on weird rants about them is missing the point and falling for their bullshit.
"While" maybe wasnt the best start to the comment but I cant edit on mobile. What I wanted to say is that your main points in the video are true and valid. I just wanted to comment on that stupid fucking "eee all they do is talk about nonbinary genders and toxic madculinity" whining. It's a fucking distraction, they don't actually care about that shit. And it's not the fault of queer ppl and feminists that the capitalist nedia machine decided to focus on them and squeeze them for "engagement". Trans rights and deconstructing patriarchy are still important nonetheless.

The fact that I haven't once seen Jordies rag on the Guardian (or the SBS, I guess) is probably the strongest vote of confidence he could give to a mainstream media outlet. Like, he's not complimenting them because they're still a part of that ecosystem, but they're clearly doing things better than the others are.
from memory i think that was around the time the AFP raided their offices for any and all information relating to the afghan files and defense so is there a possibility that they may have had blackmail or the threat of "treason" if they helped him in any way? seems plausible at least
🔥 Exactly right Jordies. McBride deserved respect and protection and accurate reporting on the concerns he raised. If Four Corners had done their job we’d all understand. As it is they have deliberately obsfucated and made their journalist the story - as he sits there as says he hates it when journalists put themselves in the centre of the story - he does exactly that. David McBride is a hero! Thanks Jordan. Excellent work. PS I’m trying to reach you on behalf of another journalist like you, whom is doing public interest journalism. Don’t have a clue how to reach you. 😅 - Imogen B
the "DEI religion" is also false consciousness. Journalism is suppressed because of the economic interests of publications through ownership or advertising. It's capitalism, not "wokeness" and barriers to career advancement are not "imagined" by marginalised people although I understand why it would seem like that to someone who can't experience these issues directly. McBride can be sexist and also exposing important truths unrelated to that, I agree it's disingenuous to bring that up in the reporting but it's not the sole reason the Australian media are smearing him. Journalists' personal prejudices are important to an extent but completely overridden by their employers, which are owned by capitalist ghouls with ties to the US government, mostly Murdoch. It's really outrageous to say that Chelsea Manning is only free because she's trans. Please think it through! There are facts that contradict your assumptions about identity politics as expressed in this otherwise great video, you just missed the root cause through anti-woke false consciousness

While I respect your outrage on the treatment of McBride, the framing of this video feels disingenuous and I think you’re usually better than that, Jordan. I listened to your Straight Talk interview recently. I know you understand the limitations both explicit and implicit placed on the ABC by the government of the day. You understand it better than most. The focus on the journalists involved rather than questioning who’s pulling the strings to make this story happen just seems like you’re willingly missing the big picture. But there’s plenty to be angry about here so I can understand that. And to distract from that, you throw in cheap shots against ‘non-binary ideology’ and ‘me too’… I mean, come on, man. If you’re actually trying to put pressure on to enact change, you’ve gotta question who’s actually responsible for this story happening. Don’t throw the wrong people or movements under the bus for a cheap laugh, and treat your audience as intelligently as you think the ABC should be. I respect your work, but you can do better than this.
Saying the ABC is promoting non-binary gender 'ideology' is pretty upsetting to hear from you. You can make jokes about trans people without adding to hateful rhetoric directed towards us. Your me too comments sadden me as well. I don't think I can stay with this channel with the misinformed culture war points you bring up that mirror those of the right.
Is there any media outlet not falling for it?

I mean, there are probably better things to be reporting about...
They are employing an ad hominem to distract people from the war crimes.

as someone who veers much farther to the left than these journos, i can say that what's being done to mcbride is despicable. a man can have questionable views about women in the military x years ago but still do a good, brave, selfless thing. it always comes down to nuance, and no one with a platform seems to be willing to engage with it.

Worked there many years ago and agree with you.
@@barbararowley6077 yeah, quite a few journos there said they respected his work. Management usually hates him tho

Rather than ABC respecting the courts it seems more like they respect the government/ruling class first. Which means protecting the government of the day first, then protecting the courts and public institutions second before protecting the interest of people last.
You don't bite the hand that feeds you.
This kind of stuff is, in part, why I don't watch TV, especially not when they show up in my YT recommandations. Journos at large have nothing to bring to the conversation but sponsored articles, bias and fuel on fire. I trust people like you to suffer through it and give me a rundown. Great job.
David McBride is actually the one who brought it up. And jordies is defending his right to say it. That's basically the context.
this video is so deeply weird. the information being presented here is fascinating and important- i hadn't heard too much about david mcbride in the media, as jordie's so effectively pointed out, as it seems there's real malicious incompetence at work. i would've loved to hear more about the unobfuscated story from a source invested in his work, along with clear ways we could support this guy for daring to speak out despite the obvious danger, had this video not dedicated basically a third of its runtime to low effort 'le wokeisme' jokes and the baffling implication that coverage of marginalised issues is the reason these important stories are being covered dishonestly and not just like... because pink and rainbow washing are easy positions to take to appear like you're being countercultural while not committing hard enough to either to actually ruffle feathers. if it wasn't stories on nb people's lives, it would be some other drivel about financial advice from a millionaire's son or another investigation into the meat industry as though its many abuses aren't already widely known and denounced. i mean, the many detours into making fun of the dreaded blue hairs is basically the other side of the coin to the abc publishing another article about rates of depression in teenagers instead of actual investigative journalism.
its pretty obvious that stories like mcbride dont get told is because they contain inconvenient truths for people in positions of power, and the australian media is controlled by monopolies who have vested interests in not revealing their own hand. if i owned over half of all the newspapers in the country, i sure as fuck wouldn't let my journos release stories on the war crimes my buddies in the adf are doing?? unless fucking rupert murdoch comes out as a trans woman tomorrow, i will remain unconvinced that its the 'woke left' controlling the nation's media output, and instead believe that it's probably due to pressure from the billionaires that pay their bills and the politicians who can weaponise their positions to squash dissent.
I felt the exact same way, honestly.
Well said. Bizarre video. Bizarre choice.
Yeah Jordies is starting to get more and more overtly conservative on a lot of his social policies.

On one hand I'm a wokey lib that rolls my eyes whenever he makes jokes about gender, but on the other hand he's a damn good journalist going after the people that deserve it like a pit bull.At this point I'm unsure how to react.

I realised that episode of 4Corners had some smear about it, but had no idea how deep.
This is somewhat of a non-sequitor but I'm an American, and my cousin was a guard at Guantonomo Bay for a while during the Iraq war. He claims there was this one Canadian inmate there who spoke perfect English, and told all the guards that he didn't do anything, and that he wasn't associated with terrorists. Every guard ignored him (I'm assuming because those were their orders, but my cousin didn't elaborate). Flash forward a decade and the inmate was freed because he was unlawfully detained. There's a plethora of examples like this of NATO countries like Canada and Australia committing war crimes on America's behalf. It's basically expected by the American military.
Australia's not a NATO country

Always. Left or right is at best a distraction from that
claims to be journalist... yep, grammatical mistakes check out
your point is exactly what I wanted to say. It's posturing to make it seem like the government is in line with progressive politics without actual substance to it.

9:17 - 9:23 was so satisfying. Thanks for coming back, Jordies. This is a good one.
Anyone that works for the Daily Mail Australia would have to be the worst journo's surely?

Think this is probably your best work Jordan. You’ve covered so many important stories but this was so so so spot on.
And it's worrying, because if this is how you treat information about the issues women and trans people face, it casts a very sad shadow on your coverage of everything else, which I'm sure is otherwise factual and unbiased.
yep, the last few videos started rubbing me the wrong way and it's just increasingly clear why

But now I'm starting to second guess myself, because if this is how FJ perceives "wokeness", perhaps there was some actual racism in his Barillaro attacks? Again, I'm not saying that's the case, I'm Italian myself and I don't think there was anything xenophobic about any of that (especially given how Italians have been "whitened" since the 1950s and earlier), and I'm not saying it makes Bruz innocent or the victim, at all, but you know, it does undermine FJ's credibility.

the "DEI religion" is also false consciousness. They took a hit on their reputation after being proven wrong with the NSA base in Australia.
I am here to see what are they up with this time around.
Keep up the good journalism, but really disappointed how much you seem to be leaning into being 'anti-woke'.
Okay right? I was put off by that as well unfortunately. I was confused why he had to bring that into it
lowkey I think he’s using it as a point that like they are focusing on the wrong problems
