Just wanted to let you know Heath that this video was top notch. Tim and Martin have set the bar super high with their incredible content and you did an excellent job making just as informative of a video. Really well done!
An application that would use the Audio Only option, is the output if a D.A.W. ( Digital Audio Workstation ) being used to play back music and sound effects in to vMix without wanting to show the DAW's desktop.
Nice presentation Heath. Only flub I spotted was the "that we call NDI" line, and only because it implies vMix makes NDI. And we all know if vMix made NDI it would be more effcient!! 😁
Nice work, Heath! Very informative! It added some potential uses (as in adding multiple windows from the same source machine) to future productions. Looking forward to your next video!
Most excellent video Heath! Full of very useful information. I guess I should have watched this before I installed it on my M1 MBP...LOL That being said, had it running just fine for four hours with no issues. I was running PowerPoint on the Mac and was great. Hello thanks for all the tuto ! Is there a tuto which explain how configuring 2 network interface of the vmix pc, one for internet and the other for an NDI lan to be able to avoid that the NDI flow saturate the internet NIC... And by curiosity, could you tell me if the transition at 8'59 is a Vmix transition ? Thx by advance
How can you record the NDI desktop feed with multicorder when there isn't movement all the time? It doesn't seem to start recording until you switch to a other powerpoint screen and even stops recording after a few seconds.
Hey did you change your elgato key lighs?? I just recently bought some gvm led 800 rgb light for my upcoming videos as a streamer and product reviewer podcast etc... and because they are on a stand I can move them around if need be. But I light the fact that with the elgato you can jut mount them to the desk and you can control them with the stream deck and it makes for a clean setup.. but the gvm may be more versatile when shining light on products for product reviews and etc... but the god light I’m curious about is it better than led soft box?? I’m thinking of sending back the led 800 gvm if I decide I don’t like them.. what’s your opinion??
This is great i have been using OBS with a NDI plugin to do this and it's been hit or miss (not very stable), it's great to have a easy to use alternative that is natively supported. edit: great that it is free as installing a piece of software on a corporate PC in order to capture it can be an issue with some clients.
We still use SDI / decimators. I am afraid to try this capturing webex or zoom unless I know there will be not audio sync issues (one audio source is assign to all shots)
If the source PC is on the same network as your vMix production PC, then you should be able to see it as an NDI source on vMix PC. Feel free to send us through an email if you have any further questions- www.vmix.com/contact-us.aspx
Most graphics programs should have an NDI output option so you wouldn't need to use a screen capturing method. If it doesn't, you could try using a green background and chroma keying it out in vMix. If you have any further questions, send us an email- www.vmix.com/contact-us.aspx
Thank you for the video. This is the process we normally used to send Bible verses and song lyrics from Propresenter 7 to our Vmix production. However, for the past month, our Vmix Desktop capture for NDI application failed to work. each time we opened it, it does not have a connection. Since the desktop capture for NDI application does not have a connection, we are not able to see the propresenter 7 PC or any other NDI source when we clicked on Add input - Add NDI/Desktop capture. We have tried to uninstall the application and reinstalled it but still does not resolved the problem. The problem has made our workflow during live streaming services a bit difficult for us. i wondering if you have a solution to this problem.
If you could send through an email to our Support Team, they can take a look- www.vmix.com/contact-us.aspx. I would recommend looking at our ProPresenter guide, as you should be taking the NDI feed out of PP and not screen capturing. www.vmix.com/knowledgebase/article.aspx/218/sending-and-receiving-between-vmix-and-propresenter-using-ndi
Hmm. This is interesting. I didn't quite get something. Is there an advantage to using this as opposed to just straying ndi's native desktop sharing tool? I did a production over the weekend where we had to share a PowerPoint presentation into the production. I used NDI desktop and it seemed to work fine. But if vmix desktop capture is more advantageous, I'll use that next time.
@@PiDsPagePrototypes Scan Converter was in version 4 too. I'm kind of confused about its use case as well. Seems great, but what's the difference between this and NDI Scan Converter?

I am a vmix user in Korea, and this was most concise and right to the point workflow. :)
at first I thought Tim and Martin merged into one person... familiar, but different.
perfectly said! I agree. Heath, you rocked this video. Seriously, super clear and extremely similar to how tim and matin do it. Nicely done
Very good instructor! I will have it in mind when we need a 2nd computer in one of our next productions.

What if you don't have a gigabit home network, but just a normal one? Is it going to be too slow potentially then to work properly?

How is this different or better than just using the NDI capture that comes in both Win and Mac NDI Tools?

Very thorough and clear -- very helpful too! Thank you!
Nice content Heath, but is vMix is still not thinking of MAC users? I really hope this comes through
I'm wondering why David Cross is doing a vMix tutorial?
Any review in vmix diagnostics..? Specially in rtx vcard? Will it compatible..?

I wish you would add screen share to Vmix Call.
Hi, you could try using advanced.vmixcall.com/
@@vMixhd Thanks. I'll try it.
audio only could be used to capture music from something like spotify or pandora (or even a local mp3 player)

Does vMix Desktop Capture work with wifi?
Is 2 tb enough to stream games and film TH-cam videos on my pc??
👍
OH NO.....i tried it, and while you CAN select a program for an input....if you move another window over the top, you see it.

Advantage of this, is that it works will any version of NDI, whereas the NDI Scan Converter only comes with NDI5.

vMix Desktop Capture allows you to capture multiple individual program Windows at once, provided they're visible.
