Terrific video! This answers a lot of questions not covered in some of the other solar install videos. Also, you do a very nice install job, right down to labeling the outlet and switch.
Nice, but your 350 amp fuse should be as close to the battery as possible. If your positive cable were to ground somewhere before the fuse, you could have a major fire.
Nice setup.... Just wondering why you didn't go the extra mile and install a transfer switch so that you can have power to all of the outlets instead of just one dedicated plug? Your system is more than adequate to run everything in your camper without issues. The install is quite easy and all that is required is that you disconnect your converter charger from power distribution center and wire it to the shore power side of the transfer switch (with it's own breaker) and turn the fridge to propane only when running off of inverter power. We are running 200 watts of solar, 2 6v GC-2 lead acid batteries and a 1500w inverter with a transfer switch with no issues at all. I generally don't run the microwave just due to it's power consumption, but the 1500w inverter runs it just fine... If I want A/C we use the generator.
Hi Charles an inverter is a great and useful upgrade. Nice clean install too. I was always told to connect the positive cable to the first battery in the bank and the negative cable in the last battery in the bank. In theory this pulls power evenly through all batteries in your battery bank. I see you connected both positive and negative cables to the middle battery in the bank. Does this also draw through all batteries evenly or will the middle battery draw down quicker? Great video and stay safe.
hey mate how you going, doing my own electrical system right now and wondering how you wired a power point from the inverter which is essentially another power point? is there a specific cable to do this? cheers heaps!

Nice setup. Your inverter should be 3" off the floor for maximum venting/cooling however.

What about grounding the inverter?

Great video! What compressor do you have there, and how do you like it?
What is the total length of your positive 4/0 cable: inverter to battery?
About 9 feet.
What happened to the trip? You fell off the radar.
We had an unexpected death in the family and had to cut our trip short.
Charles Coushaine Sorry to hear about your loss but glad to see that you are alright.
