- This is the first video in a new series we're calling Hunt Recap. The point of these videos is to share some hunting stories and hopefully learn from each other's successes and failures. Please comment with your experiences! If you're not interested in the boring strategy stuff, skip to 12:40.
Disclaimer: The hunting footage is terrible, we're still learning this filming stuff. Kudos to all of you successfully self filming your hunts.

I'm 56 and consider myself an advanced deer hunter, which I admit is an opinion. When I started hunting you either learned from your dad or family. Deer hunting was around 10 years here before I started so they didn't know much. Or you went to the library and and checked a book about deer hunting out. Which I did. Or you subscribed to outdoor life, field and stream, and sports afield. And you read there articles about deer hunting, which were few. And I did. Then came the stump sitters, then came deer and deer hunting, North American whitetail, did that. Man it was a slow process that took years to evolve. All this to make this point. With all the information out there you young guys are highly advanced for your age, I can't imagine how much more you'll evolve when you get to my age. Y'all are dead nuts killers. I been at this 46 years. And yes I'm always open to information. That's how we learn. Good series here
Love this educational video format. Helped share thought process, how you look at maps and what you saw deer doing. Didn’t even care that actual hunt footage wasn’t the best. Keep it up.
Tip I’ve learned over the years especially rut hunting; does will blow and stomp like crazy when a buck is close!
Love this! Keep it up man! I’ll now watch all of these
Thanks for another great video. I love your whatever works best approach. You truly seem to implement whatever method puts the most tonnage on the ground until you reach your desired point. Already saw the video after this one but looking forward to the next!!!
This is the kind of video I’ve been waiting for thank you for sharing
This is straight gold! Thanks for sharing Alex!
Cool ass way to do a hunting video/recap. This was super informative. Congrats on your buck as well!
This was awesome! Thanks to Latitude for sharing how they access and setup. It’s helping me be more sure about what I’m doing.
Thank you! Glad the video was helpful. Good luck this season!
Good stuff .. Very well explained and not an easy accomplishment. Congrats.
Good information. With limited options on my 60 acres, I get nervous about intruding. All the planning and work depends so heavily on 1st sit/2nd sit success. You were really getting into the low areas where wind can swirl and thermals are most sensitive. Great job!
Helps a lot! thanks for sharing! I love my saddle from latitude! Super comfortable
Just found you guys from watching Dan infalt episode. I said to myself who are these dudes!! Pleasantly surprised, fellow Michigan dudes!! Enjoying your videos. 👍
Excellent video. Very well explained. What a great buck! Cant wait to see what you guys do this year.
Liked seeing your strategy
Nice job and no need to apologize it was good!
Awesome video!
Thank you!
Enjoyed the video. The area I plan to hunt this i year is not so different from this, so I enjoyed hearing about your experience.
Awesome vid
Michigan? Wisconsin? I also just sat in my new method 2 for about a hour in my back yard. Feels good, But I have a lot to learn. Thanks...
Great video and beautiful deer. Thank you for sharing. 🦌🇺🇸
I'm confused. At 15.44 in the video after you missed the morning buck, you were hunting a S wind. Wouldnt your order been blown up that secondary draw where the bedding was up above? Or does it afternoon hunt pull the order down with the thermals?
Yes you are correct. I was targeting the bedding to the south on that specific hunt assuming leward bedding. I still liked that secondary draw because I figured something might check below it, but in theory I blew up the bedding at the top of the secondary draw. It was a really calm evening though so I wasn't as concerned with wind and the thermals pulled hard for me that night.
At least you had the camera on already way ahead of me I always video bucks I’m passing. Forget camera completely on the bucks I’m going to kill.😂
