Hi Noah! I'm a new subscriber, living off-grid in the backwoods of Maine the past 10 years and native of Springfield, Va. I love your videos, and that awesome fireplace you built. Binge-watching as we speak! Cheers! 💫

We are in the process of buying a 1917 log home in Tennessee that has 6 fireplaces. I would love to put a wood stove in the dining room fireplace. Binge watching your videos.

In an ideal world I would have both but I think at the moment a cooking woodstove is the thing I need. I love fireplaces and have always had them. Oh I think that is a great idea.... I think I could do that!

I wrote to Mr. Bradley to find out why he hasn't done any videos or answered emails lately. Don't worry - he's in great health. He just tried to do too many things. He's coming back shortly and plans to do many videos and some new builds on his new property. Lot's of people who follow this channel asking if he's injured or sick. Far from it. He's a workin' beast who chewed off more than he can handle. Said he's re-organized and can't wait to finish up his commitments and get back to videos and teaching and building with everyone. Please pass this around as many want to know what's up. Thanks :):)

I used a number of Rumford fireplaces in England and Ireland...they were far more efficient at putting out heat than an ordinary fireplace...and were just as good at keeping fires going for hours that we could sit around and enjoy the fire.

i've wanted to build a house for years. what keeps tripping me up is not that actual building of the house. that seems like the fun part. what has seemed really intimidating to me is buying the land and putting in the foundation or footing and installing utilities

Thank you so much for sharing your videos with us, Mr Noah. I wonder how to start the foundation of a two floors handmade house? I dream of doing this someday, but it doesn't look so clear to me.

I've been acquainted with a couple of Russian stoves. One in particular worked great. It was basically a wood stove made of stone. The chimney went straight up just like any wood stove. It took several hours to get the stove warm but once you did it put off great heat and you didn't have to keep a constant fire going like with a wood stove. The other one had a convoluted chimney like the one your chimney sweep didnt like. It was a little more problematic. If i had my choice between a properly concieved and built russian stove and any wood stove I'd go for the Russian stove, especially if it was my only heat source which it was on the first one i described. That place also had an old wood cook stove for cooking. It was an off grid cabin.

Hello Mr Bradley I am planning on building my own log cabin . I've been gathering up tools and equipment including a small sawmill that will handle logs up to 18 " . I sent an email to you wanting info on joining your log cabin academy because I want to learn all I can before I get started . I haven't heard anything back . Are you still doing the academy sir ? Thank you and I really like the houses you build and the style .

I wrote an email to Noah. He has been super busy and has an overload of projects to complete shortly. He had lost track of time and is coming back all fresh and sassy. He simply was doing too much @ one time. He will have a whole bunch of new stuff to share & plans on doing lots more videos. Please pass & post this around. :):)

We use a wood stove to heat our home basically 24/7. The only time our gas furnace comes on is in extreme cold weather or if we are out of town.

I know you run an academy for different types of construction. Do have have a website I can look and see if you offer courses that would fill my needs?

  • @stevepailet8258

the big problem with a fireplace or wood stove. Most of the heat ends up going up the chimney. Rocket mass heaters use 1/10 the wood and keep heating the house for 24 to 48 hours. Consider once those coals go out on your fireplace or wood stove.. within a very short time they are no longer providing heat to your home. This is just a reality. All this said.. think they are UGLY as sin and the fireplaces and wood stoves are things of beauty

I have two woodstoves, one in the basement rated for 1800 square feet and another one upstairs in the main part of the house also rated for 1800 square feet. They do a great job of heating this house. When I go out an oil furnace does the trick.
