It is true!!!! Buddhism was true religion of Afghanistan. The Ghurids were actually converts from Buddhism to Sunni Islam.
Nope! Before Ghaurids Afghanistan were part of Iran under Nader Shah. But his servant Ahmad Shah Abdali (Founder of Afghanistan) make it seperate from Persia.

Our historians have done great disservice to Samrat Ashoka, once upon a time he had greatest empire spanning most of the Asia.
He spread Buddhism from Afghanistan to Japan in the east, that by no means is an easy feat to achieve.
Buddhism was spreaded by shahansha Kanishka the great before him Buddhism was only a second to Zoroastrianism
Ashoka's empire only covered most of South Asia not all of Asia....lmao

I have a pashtun friend from Swat Valley, Pakistan and in his village there are some buddha statues and stupa's. Some of the statues were a bit damaged by the Taliban in the 90's. But they were still standing though. It was so fascinating to see the photo's and video's he used to take of these stupa's and statues when he went hiking. He now lives in the UK.
Afghanistan was very peaceful land when its ppl were Buddhist. They created stunning statues, caves, great peace of art. Afghanistan lost itself with the advent of Turks' Islam.

Iam Buddhist from India, I really want to visit Afghanistan, hope I can visit it one day.
Than they will charge you so much money on the name of maintenance, and will make money, Buddhist should only go there when the whole management is been hand over to Buddhist body and whole affair of tourist in their hand.

In ancient time afghanistan used to be the land of arts. Still we hear about the greatness of kandhar art. But after the emerge of islam in afghanistan, it feels as if suddenly the greenery turns into deserts😢. Now in afghanistan there exists a sect of people who thinks arts and artifacts as a symbol of satan and start to destroy them without knowing their significance. Afghanistan would never be great again as it used to be in it's buddhist era.❤❤❤

Good religious people: “You’re anti Muslim or anti Buddhist but you can change”
Bad religious people: You’re anti Muslim because you are Buddhist or you’re anti Buddhist because you are Muslim”.
You don’t beat Islamophobia or Buddhaphobia with payback, you beat it by reconciliation.
