@MCMuraFGC i asked about this thing in the reddit a while ago but nobody actually did it lul, there are so great ones for the OG version but sigma and black have made so many changes that it barely applies lul.
For me my most used weapons in Ninja Gaiden 2 was between the Lunar Staff and the Tonfas, but for certain moments i use the Eclipse Scythe and Kusari Gama (only for the bugs and ghost piranhas), and yes, Momiji was buffed here over Sigma.
My most used would be Dragon sword the numchaku weapon and the Tonfas I do like every weapon though Momiji is my least favorite my favorite playable character out of all the games is easily Kasumi but unfortunately not in 2 so Ayane is the better other character in this game but I'd play any Hayabusa weapon over any of them though surprisingly in Razors edge I love using all of them way more its just Kasumis my favorite moveset in Razors edge even over Hayabusa
I actually think the Lunar is better than the Dual Swords for regular mobs. The lvl1 360 UT is a guaranteed kill so you can just chain it over and over. Plus the jumping XXY izuna drop is better than a flying swallow in my opinion. Dual blades are better for bosses though despite the fact that many bosses will die to 360 UT spam from the Lunar.
Bro I just beat the momiji chapter on master ninja and I suffered for so long that I got an achievement that only 0.02% of players got of killing 1000 enemies with her
Bro same thing just happened to me with Ayane lol. I was on that missions (mainly the market) for about 2 hours, I had 500 kills with here before I got there on MN. Got the fucking trophy after 2 hours. Died at least 100 times on that level. Thankfully it's Ryu for the rest of the way now. Just now waiting to see how hard Elizabeth mainly her second fight is going to beat my ass.
I loved, and used till the end, after tested all of them, Lunar and than Eclipse. The way Eclipse can cut a mod head just by jumping and hitting at time, it's amazing.
An advice, after beating every mob, go back to the save point and save. Enemies won't respawn again. That will significantly help you on your first MN run
I know they aren’t as universal nor as powerful as others, but the Kurasigama is one of my favorite weapons in video games. Its long range grabs with guaranteed delimbs make the return to Hayabusa village an absolute delight to play through.
Kusarigama is one of the best weapons in the game. You should not judge movesets based on just efficiency but the hilarious thing is that Kusarigama is one of the best in that regard. It can instantly kill any humanoid if you know the secret tech (as little as 2 hits, guaranteed), or delimb it if you use it the normal way. It does very high damage against non human enemies and in fact it has the highest DPS against giant boss enemies in the game. It's also one of the best weapons against the two hardest bosses in the game. I would not take this guys ranking seriously.
Dual katanas being number 1 is a fact my personal favorite. The only reason I wanna play NG3 razors edge is so I can use it on more enemies lol. Ayane is so weak and she’s not even that fast. Getting away from a horde of ninja should be easy with her if she was so fast. Getting 1000 kills with her on mentor difficult would take a life time. Another personal favorite is the sickle and chain kasuri-gama so much fun with the throws and the 360 strong attack. But I Agree with your list my friend. Oh and Rachel’s machine gun should’ve been up there on S tier lol.
It's sad they didn't give the greatsword more damage to compensate how slow it is, i figured they update weapons with the rerelease but oh well glad my favorite series is back from the dead.
Because it's not slow at all. You either know how to use it or you don't. If you just try and do heavy attacks from neutral on enemies then you might think it's slow but that's not knowing how to use the weapon.
@deathtoraiden2080 the "fast attacks" take more commitment than the scythe and the scythe has grab attacks with s and a better ut, greatsword is usable for sure but lets not pretend it's the scythe, dragon sword, lunar staff or any of the other weapons that are either fast or has more reach than it.
@ Enma's fangs fastest move and strings has practically no recovery frames, leaves the enemy in a stunned animation and it can even be shuriken canceled. It is used to set up any of it's other moves as it combos naturally into them. Great for bosses and crow control. It is faster than anything the scythe can do safe for it's single forward light move. I don't consider it one of the best weapons in the game but there is nothing wrong with it. If you like clanging things you can use it the whole game without any issues. It also has a very high delimb rate against large enemies but that is less noticeable in this version because they nerfed the enemies delimb rate from how it was in Sigma 2. There were some enemies that were basically almost mini bosses that are now nothing special and EF used to have very high delimb rate against those.
Enma's fang can Izuna drop from a jump attack, and its -forward-X, X, X combo is quick, good damage, good vs bosses. Its 360 Y attack often decapitates tall enemies, same with its Y,Y,Y combo. Its ultimate is pretty decent too, especially with two charges it kills almost everything in a large radius. I think its like low A/B+ honestly. Give some of those things a try I think you'd reconsider.
its certainly not an awful weapon by any means and i like it vs the werewolfs and the large fiends. But vs human ninja, rocket spams and bosses, it really lags behind imo. Like fighting Elizibet, Alexi or Genshin with it would be very difficult imo especially since the dual Katanas and the sycthe deals almost as much damage and are a lot faster.
Enma's fang 360 decapitates any enemy, their height has nothing to do with it. Good of you to mention Forward light string as it's the most important string for the weapon.
@@MCMuraFGC lol Enma's Fang literally can get free, guaranteed hits on Elizabeth where other weapons cannot. It destroys Alexei like any other weapon especially since it's light counter is so good. It can literally loop regular Genshin from full to zero and is above average against him fighting normally. It's not the most dynamic or best weapon to use against Fiend Genshin and does require hit confirming.
Hey brotha, I have an idea for some great videos that I think many would appreciate! Make a weapon guide video for each diff weapon in the game for ryu! (Make each a separate dedicated video plz!) Give us your more detailed opinions and good ways to play with each weapon against both normal enemies and boss-types! Show off some of your fav combos for the weapon and some tips on how to get better with them! Also, please make a video talking about weapon and ninpo upgrades! Like discuss what weapons you recommend upgrading first and what order and what cool stuff each upgrade unlocks! For example, I somehow didn’t realize that upgrading the moon staff would both change how it looks and add flails to it and changing it totally! Honestly just more tips and videos on ninja Gaiden games in general would be appreciated! ESP with 4 coming out soon I think you could gather up the inevitable market of the big influx of new and returning ninja Gaiden fans and grow your channel greatly! Also, maybe look into eventually making some videos on character-action games in general, like Devil May cry and and even stuff like KH2 (new kingdom hearts game coming), Darksiders 2 (new Darksiders game is going to be announced this year), if that’s stuff is up your alley! I would love to see you grow and you make solid videos and I think you could get a ton of exposure by leaning into these audiences for character-action games! If I had the extensive skill and mastery with these games that you do and talent for video editing I would definitely be making videos on these games asap lol. Yall sleep on ayane her forward strong attack decapitates most enemies and she can launch into drop after. same with the swallow it’s really good for mobs it’s a guaranteed drop. And Racheal can spam guns then instantly ult charge. If you turn your sensitivity up then dash while she aiming shell do the spin which i think is the fastest dash.
Ayane's Phantom Tempest does not decapitates, it targets the legs. Afterglow Bracer (her FS) is the one that decapitates and it's the best FS move in the game. You are right in that both moves are excellent in general not just for her.
i have beaten Master Ninja on every ninja gaiden game and beaten the three nes games. i've also been a poor fgc player for decades. and i have to say im very surprised that there is seemingly an overlap with this particular entry and the FGC. anything that gets more people playing NG games is a plus in my book, but i don't understand the overlap in the slightest.
@@im_cart8656 i think its because both types of games are fast paced with heavy emphasis on combat, reactions, execution and all of that. What makes me love NG so much is how aggressive the enemies are, it makes every moment feel very intense

Sucks that Ayane is not great in this as she is my favourite fighting game character and the whole reason I got and beat Sigma 2 which I would otherwise have avoided due to burnout at the time. I recently managed to pick up a copy of NG2 on 360 so can finally play that one now as my 360 packed up (again) before I got very far into it before. Sadly also had issues with Xbox and Ninja Gaiden where my machine would randomly crash which made playing it extra tense and pretty much caused a lot of the burnout. Nothing like winning a battle you have been stuck on by the skin of your teeth only for the machine to die.
Ayane is good, she's better in RE but she's really good in this game. Ayane only has two weakness in this game and that is low damage against bosses and no extra mobility move. Ayane is a character that focuses heavily on fast attacks, fast recovery and high delimb rate. Even though she does low damage there is nothing mechanically that makes her weak against any boss (unlike say Momiji with Fiend Genshin).
Nice list. I haven't made the jump to NG2B yet, but for NGS2, my tier list is: S tier: Lunar Staff is so awesome for general use against just about any enemy. Tonfa ET/UT is amazing against any enemy that can be de-limbed. Outside of ET/UT, it's a bit slow but still a good weapon for general use even when not using ET/UT. A tier: Dragon Sword is like a slightly weaker Lunar Staff that is very good for general use against just about any enemy. Dual Katanas' 360y and forward (hold)+y are great for bosses and the weapon is solid for general use, though a bit slow. Falcon's Talon has the easiest air Izuna Drop and xyy has awesome de-limb rate. Missing xyy can be fatal in MN difficulty and the weapon's overall damage is a bit low. Kusari-gama has guaranteed de-limb moves and huge AOE radius. Wind Run yxy is very useful. Forward+xxxy is a good de-llimb/behead against most fiends. Its overall damage is a bit low and it can use a more reliable de-limb against fiends. Vigoorian Flail's forward+y has good range, radius, and AOE de-limbs. It also leads to Izuna Drop. Its overall damage is a bit low. B tier: Eclipse Scythe is awesome against regular werewolves and has excellent UT. Its version of Izuna Drop is slow and fairly weak and this weapon also lacks a reliable de-limb. Enma's Fang is a more limited and slower version of the Dragon Sword. Good UT but slow speed and lack of a reliable de-limb limits this weapon. Momiji is pretty solid, but her version of Izuna Drop may miss and lead to 1-hit death in MN. Her de-limbs could also be more reliable. Rachel's UT, damage, and gun are awesome but her regular moves are slow, which can be risky in MN. Also, her throws can be unsafe. Her de-limbs could also be more reliable. C tier: Ayane is fast and has good de-limbs, but her damage is way too low. Her de-limbs could still be a bit more reliable. Her fast speed and short range can make her difficult to use.
I'm surprised Enma's Fang is ranked so low, did they nerf it? I was reading an FAQ for old school NG2 for the Xbox 360, and they said it was the best weapon in the game.
Its not in the vanilla NG2 game, maybe you are thinking of the Dalihabaro from NG1. Its just a slow and heavy weapon that deals good damage, in a game where dmg matters less than having good delimbs and being slow is crippling. You can use it on regular playthroughs but its very very difficult on higher difficulties and especially the bosses. I wouldn't even want to imagine fighting Elizbet, Genshin or Alexi with it. Not to mention that there are other weapons like Dual Katana and Sycthe that's also dmg weapons and much faster

They are still top 4 for me so ita no problem, they are certainly ridiculous. I think the Falcon Talons were much stronger in OG2 though. The > T used to almost 100% delimb, it was insane
I think the girls overall are much stronger in NG3RE and Kasumi is good but i think Momiji and Ayane are slightly stronger than her, all 3 of em are good though. Kasumi got a very good teleport (Cicada's surge) and against the human enemies she can set up SoB whenever she wants so that's great. Unfortunately her ninpo is really bad and she doesn't have a lot of I frames, projectiles are also mid. So she is great vs human mobs, struggles vs bosses and will say she is overall still stronger than the NG2 females. All ladies are better in 3. Ayane got omega buffed in NG3
Its top 3 like i put it here but i genuinely find the Tonfas to be broken vs mobs and the BotA is the boss killer of NG2. DS especially the TDS is very good but doesn't trump either of them in these areas. Its an amazing jack of all trades.
Your tier list is flat-out wrong and looks to be based more on flair than actual performance. Enma’s Fang in C-Tier is absurd, it’s one of the highest-damage weapons in the game and executes faster than other heavy weapons. If Blade of the Archfiend is S-Tier, Enma’s Fang absolutely belongs there too, not sitting next to Kusari-Gama, which isn’t even remotely on the same level. Eclipse Scythe in A-Tier is just as bad, statistically, it destroys mobs, has the best range, and is highly effective against large bosses. It is S-Tier by every measurable standard and most likely the overall best weapon in the game. Tonfa in S-Tier is just wrong. Yes, its DPS against humanoid enemies is great, but its short range cripples it against large bosses, making it nowhere near as reliable as you’re making it out to be. Its UT is what makes it unbalanced but can’t be used in every situation. It’s high A-Tier at best. Falcon’s Talons in A-Tier is laughable, speed alone doesn’t make a weapon top-tier, and its low base damage and pitiful range make it B-Tier at most. Vigoorian Flails in B-Tier is fine, but Kusari-Gama doesn’t belong there. It’s too slow, clunky, and impractical to be on the same level as weapons that actually work in real fights. It’s C-Tier where it belongs. Factually speaking, Eclipse Scythe and Enma’s Fang are S-Tier, Tonfa is A-Tier, and Falcon’s Talons need to drop to B-Tier. I’m not tryna sound cocky but I’ve been speed running and playing this game for a very long time.

I actually hate the tonfas... Never use it and i am a pro NG player... My best weapons are the true dragon sword and The dual katanas, blade of the arch fiend version only i do not use the normal dual katanas only max lv....
@dc7981 i never investigated... I am very good with ninja gaiden... I have not seen a player use my approach, i cam do the most complex combos easily while under pressure on master ninja difficulty, been on this game since the first ninja gaiden on the OG xbox...
Fun fact: No one who calls them selves "pro X game player" is ever a pro at said game 😂. Unless you are using it a professional sense. I don't think i have ever heard any of the really good NG players talk about themselves this way, but you might be really young.

Anyone who finish any of the NG titles on the hardest difficulty can be referred to as a master ninja or can claim it... After all the firs NG on the OG xbox ranks the ninja per chapter and gives a final tanking when you finish the game...

My favorite weapon is the staff as well and the Vigoorian Flails, they are so much fun

You just use it to check or beat enemies that are far away but you can't really use it as a primary damage source

i have beaten Master Ninja on every ninja gaiden game and beaten the three nes games. i've also been a poor fgc player for decades.
and i have to say im very surprised that there is seemingly an overlap with this particular entry and the FGC.
anything that gets more people playing NG games is a plus in my book, but i don't understand the overlap in the slightest.
They just go so well together

What makes me love NG so much is how aggressive the enemies are, it makes every moment feel very intense

@MCMuraFGC I know i played Razors Edge a shit ton. SoB is fun Mechanic. Love that game. I wish they would also port this into UE5 Engine but will probably not happen

Sucks that Ayane is not great in this as she is my favourite fighting game character and the whole reason I got and beat Sigma 2 which I would otherwise have avoided due to burnout at the time. I recently managed to pick up a copy of NG2 on 360 so can finally play that one now as my 360 packed up (again) before I got very far into it before.
Sadly also had issues with Xbox and Ninja Gaiden where my machine would randomly crash which made playing it extra tense and pretty much caused a lot of the burnout. Nothing like winning a battle you have been stuck on by the skin of your teeth only for the machine to die.
Get a series X or a one X, NG2 is 4k native on there!!!
Ayane is good, she's better in RE but she's really good in this game. Ayane only has two weakness in this game and that is low damage against bosses and no extra mobility move. Ayane is a character that focuses heavily on fast attacks, fast recovery and high delimb rate. Even though she does low damage there is nothing mechanically that makes her weak against any boss (unlike say Momiji with Fiend Genshin).
I always thought the tonfas sucked, lol. I guess i still have much to learn.

I haven't made the jump to NG2B yet, but for NGS2, my tier list is:
S tier:
Lunar Staff is so awesome for general use against just about any enemy.
Tonfa ET/UT is amazing against any enemy that can be de-limbed. Outside of ET/UT, it's a bit slow but still a good weapon for general use even when not using ET/UT.
A tier:
Dragon Sword is like a slightly weaker Lunar Staff that is very good for general use against just about any enemy.
Dual Katanas' 360y and forward (hold)+y are great for bosses and the weapon is solid for general use, though a bit slow.
Falcon's Talon has the easiest air Izuna Drop and xyy has awesome de-limb rate. Missing xyy can be fatal in MN difficulty and the weapon's overall damage is a bit low.
Kusari-gama has guaranteed de-limb moves and huge AOE radius. Wind Run yxy is very useful. Forward+xxxy is a good de-llimb/behead against most fiends. Its overall damage is a bit low and it can use a more reliable de-limb against fiends.
Vigoorian Flail's forward+y has good range, radius, and AOE de-limbs. It also leads to Izuna Drop. Its overall damage is a bit low.
B tier:
Eclipse Scythe is awesome against regular werewolves and has excellent UT. Its version of Izuna Drop is slow and fairly weak and this weapon also lacks a reliable de-limb.
Enma's Fang is a more limited and slower version of the Dragon Sword. Good UT but slow speed and lack of a reliable de-limb limits this weapon.
Momiji is pretty solid, but her version of Izuna Drop may miss and lead to 1-hit death in MN. Her de-limbs could also be more reliable.
Rachel's UT, damage, and gun are awesome but her regular moves are slow, which can be risky in MN. Also, her throws can be unsafe. Her de-limbs could also be more reliable.
C tier:
Ayane is fast and has good de-limbs, but her damage is way too low. Her de-limbs could still be a bit more reliable. Her fast speed and short range can make her difficult to use.

I'm surprised Enma's Fang is ranked so low, did they nerf it? I was reading an FAQ for old school NG2 for the Xbox 360, and they said it was the best weapon in the game.
They are not in the 360 version.

Its not in the vanilla NG2 game, maybe you are thinking of the Dalihabaro from NG1.
Its just a slow and heavy weapon that deals good damage, in a game where dmg matters less than having good delimbs and being slow is crippling. You can use it on regular playthroughs but its very very difficult on higher difficulties and especially the bosses. I wouldn't even want to imagine fighting Elizbet, Genshin or Alexi with it.
Not to mention that there are other weapons like Dual Katana and Sycthe that's also dmg weapons and much faster

I think the girls overall are much stronger in NG3RE and Kasumi is good but i think Momiji and Ayane are slightly stronger than her, all 3 of em are good though.
Kasumi got a very good teleport (Cicada's surge) and against the human enemies she can set up SoB whenever she wants so that's great. Unfortunately her ninpo is really bad and she doesn't have a lot of I frames, projectiles are also mid.
So she is great vs human mobs, struggles vs bosses and will say she is overall still stronger than the NG2 females.
All ladies are better in 3. Ayane got omega buffed in NG3

This is utter nonsense. The Dragon Sword is the best weapon. Period.
Its top 3 like i put it here but i genuinely find the Tonfas to be broken vs mobs and the BotA is the boss killer of NG2. DS especially the TDS is very good but doesn't trump either of them in these areas. Its an amazing jack of all trades.

Your tier list is flat-out wrong and looks to be based more on flair than actual performance. Enma’s Fang in C-Tier is absurd, it’s one of the highest-damage weapons in the game and executes faster than other heavy weapons. If Blade of the Archfiend is S-Tier, Enma’s Fang absolutely belongs there too, not sitting next to Kusari-Gama, which isn’t even remotely on the same level. Eclipse Scythe in A-Tier is just as bad, statistically, it destroys mobs, has the best range, and is highly effective against large bosses. It is S-Tier by every measurable standard and most likely the overall best weapon in the game.
Tonfa in S-Tier is just wrong. Yes, its DPS against humanoid enemies is great, but its short range cripples it against large bosses, making it nowhere near as reliable as you’re making it out to be. Its UT is what makes it unbalanced but can’t be used in every situation. It’s high A-Tier at best. Falcon’s Talons in A-Tier is laughable, speed alone doesn’t make a weapon top-tier, and its low base damage and pitiful range make it B-Tier at most. Vigoorian Flails in B-Tier is fine, but Kusari-Gama doesn’t belong there. It’s too slow, clunky, and impractical to be on the same level as weapons that actually work in real fights. It’s C-Tier where it belongs.
Factually speaking, Eclipse Scythe and Enma’s Fang are S-Tier, Tonfa is A-Tier, and Falcon’s Talons need to drop to B-Tier. I’m not tryna sound cocky but I’ve been speed running and playing this game for a very long time.

I actually hate the tonfas... Never use it and i am a pro NG player... My best weapons are the true dragon sword and The dual katanas, blade of the arch fiend version only i do not use the normal dual katanas only max lv....
Tonfa are good but take a while to get to grips with
@dc7981 i never investigated... I am very good with ninja gaiden... I have not seen a player use my approach, i cam do the most complex combos easily while under pressure on master ninja difficulty, been on this game since the first ninja gaiden on the OG xbox...
Fun fact: No one who calls them selves "pro X game player" is ever a pro at said game 😂. Unless you are using it a professional sense. I don't think i have ever heard any of the really good NG players talk about themselves this way, but you might be really young.

Anyone who finish any of the NG titles on the hardest difficulty can be referred to as a master ninja or can claim it... After all the firs NG on the OG xbox ranks the ninja per chapter and gives a final tanking when you finish the game...
