  • In this lesson we'll define jogging or inching and examine several configurations of ladder logic incorporating a jogging function. Additionally, we’ll discuss the suitability of contactors both making and breaking inrush current. (Full Lecture)

    Question: How is it possible to have a solenoid connected to an AC source? Wouldn't that in this case make the brakes vibrate in the frequency of line?

      Good question. Yes, AC solenoids are prone to chatter however they also include "shading" coils that decrease the noise and increase holding power that magnetically latch onto the plunger.
