I read the first book and enjoyed it, but dnfed the second. I think it was just the wrong time for me to read it ( it was about 10 years ago) I do hope to get back to it one day.

Had no idea you were such a big Pride & Prejudice lover. The Regency Dragons series by Stephanie Burgis I recently recommended to you bc of your love for Miss Percy is also a loose P&P retelling. Get the sample and look at that bangerrrrr of an iconic first line!! 🤌 And how interesting to hear about the different Christmas traditions over there. Hope you've managed to settle into normal life again by now hahah. Also super curious to hear about your experience with Sadie's journal, she is SUCH a gem 🥰

I’m soooo glad you get what I’m saying about Fangs of war, I hoped you’d get it as soon as I said it haha. I can’t wait for Low Country, it’s about time we have a buddy read lined up! Yeah I was a bit hesitant about gunmetal gods because Lightblade was just ok. But I actually had a great time with it. I’d certainly be interested in your thoughts on that one. Yeah outside of fantasy Jane Austen is an absolute favourite of mine. I did see from the title of the first Regency Dragons book that it was a nod to Austen. I’ll just went and checked the first line and yes, I’m SOLD!! I actually love looking at different winter festivities, I used to discuss a different one every year with my students. But yeah Reyes is only something I hear celebrated in catholic countries. Yeah everything is all back to normal now, thankfully haha. Sadie is soooo lovely I can’t wait to get to her book!

I just picked The Daughters of Izdahar off my shelf last night. I have a couple library books to finish and then I will be starting that one. I don’t hear many people talking about it. I’m excited to hear what you think about it.

Omg I hate exposition via dialogue! It always feels so forced, it's annoying 😂 but like you said, dialogue in self-published can be iffy, so I can often forgive it! I've heard amazing things about Gunmetal Gods, I love to hear that you enjoyed it! Love to see Sadie's book on here! I have been doing it since the beginning of Jan and I think it's really really amazing, so thoughtful and really pushes you to think about things and make positive changes in a gentle but motivating way. I definitely recommend it! (Obviously I know you're doing it anyway 😂 but incase anyone else is reading this, give it a go!) Aaah that is such a cute cake stand! I love watching your vlogs, they really make me feel like I'm just hanging out with a friend ❤
@@mojopie I’m so glad it’s not just me with the exposition through dialogue thing! It’s an absolute pet peeve of mine. But yeah dialogue in general is so hard so I’m willing to overlook it for a good book. Yeah gunmetal gods was a lot of fun! I wasn’t sure if I would or not so I’m glad I was finally forced to read it! Yeah I’m thinking April/March time whenever I get to my Sadie vlog I’ll use her book as well. Though I don’t know how much of that I’ll vlog it will depend on how intimate I feel it is. That last line absolutely made my day! 💜 Thank youuu
