I did enjoy seeing Portmeirion. Brought back memories of…….The Prisoner!!! Especially when the tide was out….. big white bouncing balloons/balls. See, if you guys don’t watch a couple of episodes you are never going to know. FYI the daughter of Williams-Ellis was a pottery designer who along with her husband took over a small pottery business in the 1960s. It became Portmeirion Potteries. The most recognizable design they produce is Botanical Garden, still popular today
Loved the Welsh Italy 🇮🇹 French 🇫🇷 scenery 😍 beautiful views …Nick has def got patience of a saint when doing what he is so good at 👍 Nick the builder 🤗 Leigh ! you also have skills of calm and organising our viewing of your brilliant adventures together 👍🤗🤗
Really wish you both would come up to Scotland, really is the best scenery 🏴 great vlog as always xxx
So beautiful, I couldn't believe it when I saw the pictures. Would never expect that to be in the UK x
It was lovely ❤️
Just watched this vlog this evening. Looks great . You guys definitely need to explore North Wales. I absolutely love the place, especially when the weather is nice.
It’s not a lake it’s the estuary for Afon Dwyryd, if you’d have gone right you would end up in the sea
Aww! Remember coming here with my parents and grandparents when I was young and dad telling us all about ‘The Prisoner’ deffo need to go back 👍
'Gannet here had a fishbowl' Nick you are brilliant! (Leigh, I'm in the gannet category, lol) 😂
You need to start a series on where Bridgerton is filmed!
Port Meirion looked amazing you could take a photo from around the pool and convince people you were on Lake Como
Yes definitely. Felt like we were abroad
I love you two and am loving your van videos . It’s a perfect bit of escapism as all our holiday plans are on hold with my son being on treatments . I am dreaming of going away again .
Nick cutting the cushions and sawing the wood in the lodge, I was having kittens
Loving the travel vlogs and can't wait to see where yous head to next ❤😊
You need to watch the Prisoner it will explain the speakers.
I live in Anglesey. Plenty of things to do here, amazing walks along the costal paths, wonderful places to eat. Please come and visit. X
Great vlog - I love North Wales 🏴 there's some beautiful places to stay. We enjoy camping at Shell Island 🐚
It's definitely worth going along the Llŷn Peninsula too, Abersoch and Aberdaron in particular. Also, I'd recommend visiting the Ty Coch Inn, a lovely little pub with gorgeous views 😍🏞️
We visited here years ago! Such a unique little place
You should also visit Cricceth, Porthmadog, Beddgerlet, Betws Y Coed, Morfa Nefyn, Caernarfon, Conwy, Beaumaris, Benllech, Rhosneigir, Trearddur Bay and lots if other places too. North Wales really is a beautiful place x
I'm surprised you guys don't have a screen for the door and the back. You could still see out and not have to worry about bugs.
Thank you for taling me back to where I was on my honeymoon and a few years after that In the 1970s. So many memories of our life together. Sadly he is no longer with us but that place is very special. That and over the bridge to Anglesey and then across the island to Treaddur Bay. In fact I adore all of Wales. Over to Snowden Not sure Nick would like going down the slate mines though. May be better going back to the border and Hay on Wye another wonderful place, thanks again you two,
Thanks for another vlog guys. What a beautiful place to visit. Such a shame the original layout didn't work for you in the van, I would be so sad about the wasted money. Hopefully it will be last of the big spends for you. Can't wait to see your future Europe vlogs. Xx
Brings back memories, so many childhood holidays spent around Porthmadog and Portmeirion
Morning guys, just catching up, love your vlog 👍
Morning! Hope you're having a good day ❤️😊
Pretty scenery. Gotta put Portmeirion on my bucket list. I so badly want to get back to the UK. Your road trip is inspiring me
What a beautiful place 😍 been to North Wales quite a few times, it is stunning, but never to Portmeirion. Great vlog xx
Standing desk too!
What a lovely place 😊, you wouldn't think you were in Wales. Love how Leigh likes to get to a cafe 😂 ❤ x
We went on holiday with our family to Criccieth. Whilst there we visited Portmerion, I'd been when I was younger with my parents but my children and their partners had never been. Love the place, it feels so romantic. Unfortunately, it's a bit run down now but still has an amazing atmosphere. ❤
Look for the first few episodes of The Prisoner (Patrick McGoohan 1967 vers) The village featured heavily, although the last episode was awful! McGoohan ran out of time & fudged a nonsense story-line. What is now The Prisoner gift shop is in the tiny house where he was supposed to be lodged. I was lucky to get good weather too and loved my day there.
Remarkable what you have achieved with Taylor.
Hi Leigh and nick other great haul looking forward to seeing more of your haul
I did a little mini trip a few years ago around Wales stopping in a different hotel every night. Loved Portmeirion ❤x
Wales, magical
One use of the outdoor speakers will become evident if you watch the Prisoner.
the table by the fire is epic
It’s been a while, but I have seen a few episodes of “The Prisoner,” and I can definitely see Portmeirion being the location for all of the outdoor scenes. It’s a very strange show, but I found it intriguing.
Stunning portmerian
Portmeiion is my favourite place in the worldxx
Yay! Going to Portmeirion next year, looked into staying in one of the self catering cottages but they were a bit pricey so we are staying in a luxury lodge with a lake view on a Haven park in Pwllheli just down the coast from Porthmadog. We are only going for 5 days so won’t be able to see everything. Stayed in Tywyn a few years ago and visited Barmouth and the King Arthur’s labyrinth. Watch out for sheep in the middle of the road my husband got the scare of his life when we rounded a corner and came face to face with one 😀
Hope you have a great time 😍
I remember going there when I was about 6 or 7 ( I'm 47 this year ) and my dad being excited about the fact the prisoner was filmed there !
Barmouth isn't far from there too where I spent many summers of my childhood at my grandparents caravan !
Brilliant vlog ❤❤ you guys should work for the tourist center for the uk.
Your vlogs are wonderful ❤
Beautiful place you really were lucky with the weather. I live in Wrexham and I agree North Wales 🏴 is beautiful I think you should do a road trip of all the Welsh Castles and national trust homes. Chirk castle is the closest to me and Erddig hall all national trust think you would enjoy those has you are Downton Abbey fans, also checkout Plassey Holiday Park it is very close to these places and is absolutely stunning. Safe travels on your next adventure can’t wait to watch.
Why don’t you get some double sided Velcro and pop one half on the seat and the other on the cushion and they will stick like glue and not slip around when u sit on it .
Cluff Williams Ellis built it- family still run it. the woods are called Y Gwyllt in welsh- the Wild. I am going in August to stay in Government House. Can’t wait
You can book a night, & there is a lovely coffee shop right on the sea
They also fimed an episode of The Apprentice there.
You're in Way-els boyo! Will u dance boyo? Beautiful country 🏴 my favourite of the British Isles.
They do make fold up picnic tables
You must watch the prisoner if you get the chance. It was a fantastic series
The Masque Of Mandragora was the Doctor Who which was filmed there staring Tom Baker as the Doctor 😀😀😀😀😀😀
Not sure if we have seen that one, Tom was a little before our time as the Doctor 😂
@@TheLodgeGuys it’s currently on bbc I player 😀😀😀😀😀
The prisoner was a great series please watch it you won’t regret it ❤
I see that you are doing more drone shots in the videos, did you go through the drone registration you need to do even for these under 249g ones, i think everyone has to do that these days ? Can you show that process and if you got any members of the public complaining when you took shots please.
The channel urban vanlife has done a starling conversion and they have a video of the process it may help you out. (Unless Nick has already done it)
too late but thanks xx
It will give away my age but I did watch the prisoner it was a really weird show
Make a change its sunny, everytime ive gone to wales its raining 🌧️🌧️☔
I worry about the height of the van with a dish on top ?
Its the village from the Prisoner tv series
They have Bands on, Weddings, Thank's for Price's. Enoy. Janet Kelly North Wales.
You guys should watch the prisoner
It would be nice to stay in one of the cottages or hotel rooms
Yes we bet they are very nice inside
We stayed in one of the cottages the 2nd time we stayed there but I would advise anyone to stay in the hotel on the beach as it’s beautiful. Andy took me there in January for a birthday treat and it was snowing so looked so pretty. We sat in front of that fire you showed after a walk around the woodland. The 3rd time we stayed we stayed in the castle which was ok but not as nice as the beach hotel.
They do prisoners convention where the fans dress up & take part in scenes from the tv show the prisoner
Im suprise you dont know of this place , its so well known. yrh when owner Sir Clough Williams-Ellis died his family didnt want to take it on so it was sold to a charible trust
Hope the lady thats doing your cushion dont think you want the same little cushions & you end up with small cushions 🙈🙈🙈
