I hate so much that you feel like you have to explain yourself for giving your kids treat or what "SOME" people call bad food to your kids. YOU ARE A GREAT MOMMA! your kids know good homecooking and then they know the amazing treats we all know and love in this world
You know what's bad I had to explain stuff in this video to my own damn family, .. because they were making ignorant comments about the food or money she spent , saying i couldn't afford to spend that much , it's like Duh she has 8 kids you don't therefore you don't have to spend as much as her she earns her own money. People should know this I shouldn't have to tell them know what I mean we all live in a world of ignorant morons who judge and are jealous of everyone.
I think the explaining that the kids will eat other items with things like applesauce and whatnot should just be common knowledge. But even if they didnt all of the meals they are eating are better quality than the fast food junk a lot of people feed their kids. And as far as spending the cunk of money in one go and making a month worth of food all at once... With 8 people to feed if you dont do big batch freezer cooking once a month you are legit cooking most of your day away everyday instead of a couple of days, it is smarter to do it this way and if you use costco or bulk buying strategies it is cheaper to prep big
Lol i was just counting all the kids. But when you consider just the kids and 3 meals s day for a 30 day month that is 720 meals... That is all the time bei g in the kitchen... As a professional cook I would also rather do it all in 2-4 days than try to keep up with the cooking daily and shopping weekly

Sometimes you have to choose convenience over saving money as long as it doesn't break your budget. For example I sometimes pick up a frozen meal or a rotisserie chicken instead of making my own as it saves mom sanity ;)
Those rotisserie chickens have been worth the splurge every time! Those nights when time gets away from me, I can run out, pick one up, come home & debone it, add it to a bagged salad & prepped veggies. So much quicker, and much cheaper than take out. Healthier too. If I buy the big bird, I can get a few meals from it - chicken & rice, sandwiches, soup.
It's nobody's business what you buy, what you cook and what your family eat. I admire your dedication, stamina and hard work in looking after your family. Many people cannot and I certainly can't do even half of what you do. I was in the US for a month and I love the country and the people. I thoroughly enjoyed doing the grocery shopping for the great variety and even greater quality of the food. And the cheap prices were phenomenal. I hope to go back again. We are a family of 5, and very busy. Two of my 3 boys are teens and really like to eat. I do the best I can without living in the kitchen. I like your ideas. Love your enthusiasm! My Mom was the 10 th of 11 children. Your videos give me a peak at the food that was needed for a large family. The sad thing for my grandmother was there wasn’t a Wal Mart or Aldi. They raised their food, canned what they could. I admire you for your family life skills. I like watching your videos and man I wish I was watching your videos when I use to live with someone that has 7 kids because there was total of 9 kids and 5 adults and there was times that we didn’t know what to make even though we don’t live there anymore. And I just love watching your videos you teach me new stuff every time I watch your videos. And I love that of how many kids you have that your so calm and your kids are so well behaved and your a good mom. I hate when people put other people down and not know them at all.

Even though the milk says it expires the 14th, as long as it's unopened and refrigerated. It's still safe to drink. We don't go through milk alot at my house (me and my husband only) we have one currently that "expired" the 1st of April and I just opened it today. It still taste great
You can also freeze milk and thaw it out when the other one is almost done, just to be extra sure it doesn't go bad, its also just a good way to store it for extended periods of time.

I have 3 boys. Now 22, 20 and 16. 22 yo has moved out and 20 yo is in and out. My 16 yo can still down a gallon of milk a day and when they were all home, it was 8-10 gallons a week. Kids eat a lot, especially growing boys who are athletes. I could never keep the cupboard full. It was hard to keep up on meals. Glad you have a plan for your family. I LOVE broccoli cheddar soup!
I love to make broccoli and Stilton (blue cheese) soup, it's tasty and not to strong a blue cheese flavor. Sauté up some onion, throw in some chopped carrots and broccoli, give them a minute then add in cubes of Stilton, a pint of stock and some heavy cream. Simmer away and serve with crusty bread - yum! Xx

It's silly that anyone would criticize what food you're buying. Your kids go to bed every night with fully bellies, and look like they're getting plenty of fruits and veggies in every meal. Anything after that is entirely your call as their mom, and with how much you love those kids it's clear you make the best choices you can at any time. Keep it up. You're a wonderful mom, and your kids seem like they're turning into great people just like their parents.
The sugar free BBQ sauce you got, is real good. My picky 20 year old son loves it. As well as the sugar free ketchup from the same maker. The only issue I have with G Hughes is it's a little on the expensive side.
I don’t know what a “S” meal is but I look forward to downsizing your “J” (Jamerrill) meals down from made for 10 to made for 2 because anything with cheddar cheese and more cheddar cheese is on our menu!! I've got about that many peppers in my fridge right now from my once a month grocery trip that I need to get chopped up and in the freezer tonight. Wish I would've been able to dedicate a day to prepping stuff but we've been on the go a lot and I've just had to do my prep little by little as I find the time.
We were just in DC for Spring Break and the cherry blossoms. We stayed with family in Virginia, and I joked about running into you. It sounds like we were so close!

I love French Cheddar Soup, basically veggie soup with cheese. I don't like cooked veggies, but I love this soup. A suggestion when fall or winter comes.

I was about to make broccoli cheese soup last week and though hey lemme try her recipe which just mean throw some fish and ranch in it. It was GREAT! Absolutely love watching your grocery hauls and cooking 40+ freezer meals. My kids are out and in college so it’s just me and husband, would love to figure out something (freezer meal) wise for 2 people. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
In the last 3 Freezer Pack cookbooks she has "single meals". With (1) 9x13 recipe I am able to get (2) 8x8 pans for the freezer. I just cooked up pack 4 minus the turkey burgers and was able to fill my freezer.
You can get smaller pans and make meals that share a lot of their ingredients. That allows for more variety without more work. Frozen carrots, pees and ground beef can be used to make shepherd's pie, chili con carne, burritos, veggie packed lasagna, sloppy joes, Spaghetti sauce etc... So with the same ingredients you already have several meals that freeze well and you really don't feel like you're eating the same thing. And once the meat is cooked, a slight change in spices allows you to use it in each of those meals... Same thing can be said for rotisserie chicken, tuna, fajita etc...

I love seeing how other large family mamas manage to feed their crews and the kinds of things they actually get their kids to eat! 😁 We still don't have a deep freeze at the new house, so my bulk shopping is limited, but I have been trying to menu plan and stick to it more consistently, and just recently worked out a new spring & summer menu with a 2 week rotation. Maybe I'll even get a video made about it 😁 if I can ever find the time to edit it 😜 Anyway, love you, sweet friend!!
Yes friend, it's all the editing time that can really make it hard to get going consistently on TH-cam. When I first started I think I got 4 videos up in all of 2014. In 2015 I tried for once a week. By 2016 I was trying for twice a week and still sometimes only hit once a month. 2017-ish I was getting 2-3 videos up a week (editing taking me 2-3 hours per video, up to 15 hours a week). And in 2018 my son took over my editing (paid job) so from then on I've been able to get 4-7 up a week. All that to say it takes time, but you're doing great getting going! I would love for you to do a video sharing your meal plan rotation. xoxo

I have 3 boys. Now 22, 20 and 16.
22 yo has moved out and 20 yo is in and out. My 16 yo can still down a gallon of milk a day and when they were all home, it was 8-10 gallons a week. Kids eat a lot, especially growing boys who are athletes. I could never keep the cupboard full. It was hard to keep up on meals. Glad you have a plan for your family.
I LOVE broccoli cheddar soup!
I love to make broccoli and Stilton (blue cheese) soup, it's tasty and not to strong a blue cheese flavor. Sauté up some onion, throw in some chopped carrots and broccoli, give them a minute then add in cubes of Stilton, a pint of stock and some heavy cream. Simmer away and serve with crusty bread - yum! Xx

It's silly that anyone would criticize what food you're buying. Your kids go to bed every night with fully bellies, and look like they're getting plenty of fruits and veggies in every meal. Anything after that is entirely your call as their mom, and with how much you love those kids it's clear you make the best choices you can at any time. Keep it up. You're a wonderful mom, and your kids seem like they're turning into great people just like their parents.

The sugar free BBQ sauce you got, is real good. My picky 20 year old son loves it. As well as the sugar free ketchup from the same maker. The only issue I have with G Hughes is it's a little on the expensive side.

I've got about that many peppers in my fridge right now from my once a month grocery trip that I need to get chopped up and in the freezer tonight. Wish I would've been able to dedicate a day to prepping stuff but we've been on the go a lot and I've just had to do my prep little by little as I find the time.
We were just in DC for Spring Break and the cherry blossoms. We stayed with family in Virginia, and I joked about running into you. It sounds like we were so close!

I love French Cheddar Soup, basically veggie soup with cheese. I don't like cooked veggies, but I love this soup. A suggestion when fall or winter comes.

Absolutely love watching your grocery hauls and cooking 40+ freezer meals. My kids are out and in college so it’s just me and husband, would love to figure out something (freezer meal) wise for 2 people. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
In the last 3 Freezer Pack cookbooks she has "single meals". With (1) 9x13 recipe I am able to get (2) 8x8 pans for the freezer. I just cooked up pack 4 minus the turkey burgers and was able to fill my freezer.
You can get smaller pans and make meals that share a lot of their ingredients. That allows for more variety without more work. Frozen carrots, pees and ground beef can be used to make shepherd's pie, chili con carne, burritos, veggie packed lasagna, sloppy joes, Spaghetti sauce etc... So with the same ingredients you already have several meals that freeze well and you really don't feel like you're eating the same thing. And once the meat is cooked, a slight change in spices allows you to use it in each of those meals... Same thing can be said for rotisserie chicken, tuna, fajita etc...

My grocery hauls definitely look different than yours (no Halo Top here, lol!), but I ALWAYS watch and enjoy your grocery videos! I love seeing how other large family mamas manage to feed their crews and the kinds of things they actually get their kids to eat! 😁
We still don't have a deep freeze at the new house, so my bulk shopping is limited, but I have been trying to menu plan and stick to it more consistently, and just recently worked out a new spring & summer menu with a 2 week rotation. Maybe I'll even get a video made about it 😁 if I can ever find the time to edit it 😜

Yes friend, it's all the editing time that can really make it hard to get going consistently on TH-cam. When I first started I think I got 4 videos up in all of 2014. In 2015 I tried for once a week. By 2016 I was trying for twice a week and still sometimes only hit once a month. 2017-ish I was getting 2-3 videos up a week (editing taking me 2-3 hours per video, up to 15 hours a week). And in 2018 my son took over my editing (paid job) so from then on I've been able to get 4-7 up a week. All that to say it takes time, but you're doing great getting going! I would love for you to do a video sharing your meal plan rotation. xoxo

My Walmart hasn’t had the huge bags of veggies either so I’ve had to do a ton of little ones. Those sausage patties - we get the same but the maple flavor and they are amazing!!!!
