    Compliments. Very clear and comprehensive.
    I would be very pleased if you could have videos on how to use ASIAIR PLUS practically step by step. Thank you for your valuable teachings.

    If you update to the latest release and use autofocus aid try the inv power mode , you only need short exposures of about 4 sec and just hit run you don’t need to use the box to frame a star as it uses all the stars , autofocus has been tweaked a bit over the last few updates and my last imaging run it gave a great v curve , also important you need to work out the step size for the critical focus zone on my two f5 scopes they worked out the same at 32 steps which you input into settings where in video you set at 10 , have a read in APT user guide on autofocusing as it explains how to work this measurement out for your system.

      Thank you for your input! I have indeed adjusted my step size since making this video, and I have it at 40 at the moment. I will try and install the latest beta version I guess. The latest official version does not support using auto focus without the focus aid box.

      Hi. I'm just in the process of doing the same setup. Could you tell us which version of APT you are using? Thanks

    Hi, nice video. I am planning on fitting this EAF on my Evostar 80ED so it is useful. It looks like the screw holes you have used to mount are the 2 center ones front and back. Is that correct. Those are the holes for the lock screw and the tension counter screw. Have you found that using these holes has been good in terms of keeping the focuser tension - i.e no slipping of the focus tube? Thanks.

      @frosthastrophotography  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, that is correct. The focus tube does not move, at least not with my load.

    Hi Martin. I really like your video tutorial. It is exactly what I need for my setup. ZWO EAF & APT. Could you please clarify what you mean by 'put the focus tube in the start or zero position'? Thanks.

    • @frosthastrophotography
      @frosthastrophotography  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! The start or zero position is the inner most position, you use the motor to move the focus tube all the way in and then set position zero in the software.

    too advanced, back to the basics, where do i plug in my USB cable? the computer USB port or somewhere on the EQ6-PRO? Should my focuser appear in my device manager of the PC? If it doesn't, does it need a driver? I have an ASI camera and I installed the software for it, but my focuser is absent in NINA, please help...

      Hi! You plug it into your computer or USB hub. It needs the ZWO driver package and you can use the studio app from ZWO or NINA or ASI Air or what you use to control it.

    Hi! Great video! I have a question though. The EAF has a "flat side" on the shaft that I assume needs to be where the adapter/coupler is screwed on. However, if you tighten both screws on the adapter/coupler, one of them will not be on the "flat side" of the shaft. So, do you just tighten one of the screws? I have the same issue on the telescope side. My telescope focuser shaft has a "flat side" too. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    • @frosthastrophotography
      @frosthastrophotography  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! Yes, one screw need to be on the flat side, just to keep it from rotating. The other one can be anywhere on the shaft and you tighten that one as well.

    Hello Martin. I am just getting back into my astro hobby, after a rather long hiatus and was wondering if you have made any updates or changes to how you use autofocus in APT? I have updated APT to the latest version (4.1) and I know that there have been several changes and tweaks to that program, with plenty of attention to autofocus methods. They even provide auto focus for DSLR cameras now, so that will be an interesting test sometime in the future. Any tips or comments would be appreciated. Cheers.

      Hello and thank you for watching!
      I haven't been able to do any astro photography here up north since we have midnight sun and no astro dark yet. I'm also building an observatory and with that I will explore all options for automation, that includes APT and NINA. I will surely make more videos on that topic!

      @@frosthastrophotography thanks for the reply. I did see some of your observatory construction videos. Very nice. Good luck with all of that.

    hi, i found your video very useful. I wanted to ask you, because if after doing the autofocus, I try the Bahtinov mask, I find differences, who should I trust in Eaf or Bahtinov? Thank you!

    • @frosthastrophotography
      @frosthastrophotography  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! I would trust the autofocus, it is much better now, and better in N.I.N.A, if you have good conditions.
