Linda Ronstadt is and has been a great influence for me as an immigrant wanting to make a difference in our world. I had a dream about Linda being my professor and discussing immigration issues in class (funny). I am a psychology student and it has been a big challenge as an ESL student. However, I am doing great, got into a couple of honor societies and moving into Boston to continue my education. Thnks Linda and all the other influential women who have worked hard to preserve latino culture
Linda needs to come to Mi Tierra restaurant in San Antonio Texas there are a lot of mariachis there. Maybe pop a tune if all possible if not we all understand her condition. We love you Linda and your wonderful music.

Ysabel, you erred in your introduction if Linda Ronstadt, she never was a songwriter, she never wrote any of the songs that she sang during her career.

I meant she didn’t write any songs all by herself, she always had help, & how much of each song she actually wrote is unknown, it could be all of it or just one word or one line, she is not credited for writing a song all by herself. She co-wrote three songs covered by various artists. * Lo Siento Mi Vida, 1976 written by, Linda Ronstadt, her bass guitar player, Kenny Edwards & her dad, Gilbert Ronstadt. * Try me again, 1976 written by Linda Ronstadt, & Andrew Gold. * Winter light, 1993, written by Linda Ronstadt, Eric Kaz, & Zbigwiew Preisner. So I was not completely wrong & you were not completely right. These are the ONLY three songs she EVER helped write.

No sé por qué no hablan en español. ¿No quieren, no saben? ¿Les da vergüenza? Deberían considerar que las letras de las canciones se deben entender tb como el 50 por ciento de la obra de arte, y si saben cantar en español. ¿Por qué no lo hablan? Esto es dar supremacía al inglés.
Amparo...mucha gente pierde el idioma conforme pasan las generaciones. En el pasado muchas familias creían que no hablar el español haría fácil “asimilación” de la cultura y llegaban a prohibir a sus hijos hablar en su idioma nativo. Aun estamos recuperandonos de esa perdida...ahora inculcamos a nuestros hijos el aprender ESPANOL. No creo que lInda habla mucho Espanol, pero aun que sea solo comunicación en Ingles, las dos señoras hacen y continuan haciendo un excelente trabajo preservando la cultura Hispana y Mejicana en particular. No tiene nada que ver con supremacia, que estes segura de eso... :)
La entrevista fue en inglés porque la Entrevistadora la hizo en inglés. Linda y Dolores han dado la entrevista en español cuando ha sido el caso. No es porque no sepan el idioma o porque se creen superiores.
