    I can't believe I found this. I have been almost unable to drive because of panic attacks. Whenever there was any traffic or a stop light, I would have a spike in anxiety. It was horrible. I only did these stretches a few times and went driving today as if it was nothing. Thank you so, so much. I could cry right now. I thought I needed drugs and intense therapy for my anxiety and now it has gone away like a puff of smoke. Thank you for all that you do. 💛

    Ty! Crazy how , even if we do not hv the education, our bodies want to heal. I've been doing these type motions thru my 2yr healing journey, not knowing why!. Tysm Doc for explaining the science for me and confirming that I was giving my body what it wanted all along.

    Looking down at phone (or books or anything) causes so much pain when done too often or for too long.
    One side worse than another and just doing this one time released it!! The pain reduced so much it was amazing. Thank you thank you!
    Will take your wise advice re not doing more than 3x's and letting area recover for however long thar takes.
    Overdoing anything re my neck will always result in more pain.

    You are so incredible! I think I told you before that I have a degenerative eye disease which causes eye flashes, vision, loss, and general muscle weakness around my eyes. I have been doing the tongue exercises and the eye flashes have diminished, and I feel like my eyes are even clearer. It would be so helpful for me if you could use more descriptive terms when talking about the exercises. I know this is difficult for light dependent people, but it would greatly help people who are vision impaired to understand the exercises. I don’t want to miss anything at all. I have a good knowledge of anatomy so usually I can pick up what you were talking about but I know a lot of people that would not be able to understand what you were talking about. I would like to share this with others who are blind, because People with vision impairments, have a tendency to have a head forward posture. You are the best! 32:49

    Great, that makes a whole lot of difference in the front of my neck. Yesterday, doing some so called face yoga exercises, I was thinking about how to get my jowls under control. I felt with my fingers along my jawline to feel where the muscles are and noticed that it's just where these jowls form there are hardly any muscles! But there are muscles in the chin!! and with trying them I noticed that the only way to get them working is to growl like an animal🐯. Ha that's exactly what we decent people are not doing. And now your video pops up, and I see you growling... I'm going to do that, see if it improves my jaw line too. And close the mouth, put the tong up, exercise the tong, pull the tong, and not stick the head forwards ...lots of new exersices and things to think about! 😅❤

    I’m going to start these today. The past month I’ve had an issue with tightness in my neck and upper back muscles but then it was causing some discomfort and pain to my left shoulder my left elbow and now my index finger on my left hand is almost numb, tingly like it’s going to fall asleep, and sometimes my arm is like that too. I go to a very good chiropractor, but he has been unable to help me fix this yet, it’s really bothering me to have the numbness and tingly feeling. I was following along and took my chin down to my right shoulder, made the face and brought it up diagonally to the left and when I got up to the top, it didn’t cause pain, but it triggered that tingly falling asleep feeling in my left arm. Obviously that’s something but I’m not sure, what’s happening. Thank you for these exercises.

    Hey, great information and great work, thank you. As a health care provider myself I wonder if your exercises (big 6..)can help now cancerfree patients that had a lateral or even full neck dissection? I have seen patients , some in their 30s and 40s that had lymphatic nodes removed from their jaw angle, parts of the platysma removed, other patients with full neck dissections with non functional platysma, all surgical accessible lymphatic nodes taken out. Since you emphasize the importance of the lymphatic drainage of the neck, are they doomed to end up with neurodegenerative disease or can the body restore lymphatic vessels after removal of lymphatic nodes?

    • @stopchasingpain
      @stopchasingpain  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I can speak from my own personal experience after having thyroid cancer 20 years ago and my entire thyroid removed and a significant amount of my lymph nodes in the neck removed. So these muscle exercises might cause a migraine for those with sensitive brains ... Correct !? I also was wondering.. do you have anything on occipital neuralgia and how to prevent further occipital nerve damage
    I'm dealing with 4 different types of migraines and headaches... A lot of head trauma from abuse in childhood... Combined with terrible body mechanics which I was never aware of until I became a massage therapist !

    I did try the first 3 exercises, but felt my jaw shift too far when attempting anything to my right side. I have had fewer TMJ surgeries or arthroscopy on my right. It doesn't have a thick layer of scar tissue holding things more or less in place, like my left. I have noticed that the large muscle you spoke of is significantly weaker on the left than the right. It is sore after having followed you on the video. I would like to continue with the exercises, but I am concerned since I sublux so easily to the right with my jaw. Can you give me a certain measurement that would be o.k. for a deviation? This way I could measure my current deviation and find a safe distance not to cross. I hope I am not asking too much. As an aside, I also have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. For those reading this post who are not familiar, I have a connective tissue disorder that affects the collagen in my body, which means that my bones pop out of place easily, I am super flexible (but get hurt and bruise easily), and my organs are also jiggly on the inside. 😊

    • @stopchasingpain
      @stopchasingpain  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes if you have all of those you need to go by how you feel. Nothing should hurt when you do it

    Hi, I haven't been able to taste or smell for three years now due to covid. And I suspect that there is some sort of vagus nerve impingement due to poor neck posture. I am going to try these out, but also if you have any pointers that may help my situation, I'd be grateful. ❤

    I had a thyroidectomy a decade ago and also worked a stressful desk job afterwards and a herniated l4/l5 disk(pain free now since chiropractic). Since then I have what is called a dowager or buffalo hump. How can i release the fascia despite scar tissue in that area?

    • @stopchasingpain
      @stopchasingpain  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Start with this to strengthen the neck to take pressure off the dowager.

    • @stopchasingpain
      @stopchasingpain  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Won't be able to do anything about that you are just gonna have to stay diligent on the exercises to reduce the effects of wearing progressives.

    Thank you Dr Perry, one question....I keep noticing my shoulders and neck are tight then realise its because my head is in forward head position, but the strange thing is it feels as though its being forced into that position as it does it without me realising and no sooner have I pulled it back into correct alignment it goes straight back to the forward head position. Could it possibly be that the fascia has pulled the muscles into this incorrect position so that now it feels natural ? I also notice my breathing is chocked off like you mention. Funnily enough I've recently become more and more aware of my chocked off breathing and strained forward head position.
    Are there any more exercises we can do or do you have any other video on how to retrain the shoulders and neck to come back to correct alignment ?
    Will try these ecercises and see how they help.

      I second this request! Trigeminal neuralgia is painful.

    • @stopchasingpain
      @stopchasingpain  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Start with this one because it will change neck alignment which changes the blood flow to your brainstem which changes how the trigeminal nerve functions. But I will be having more videos coming that may be helpful

    Ok, ran across the tongue exercise about 40 min ago, Subscribed and just finished watching this one. @stopchasingpain so glad the tongue video went viral putting it in my TH-cam feed of things to watch. My whole life has been he!!ish pain. My jaw was crushed by forceps causing stunted growth of my bones...headaches my entire life until the age of 30 when I had my jaw cut out of my mouth for reconstructive surgery to even-up the two sides. Then came the 2 herniated disks in my neck and the amount of pain the in the muscles you named along with the holes (nerves) just above the collar bone by just touching them. I now have humped shoulders, lower back pain, poor circulation and inflammation just about everywhere in my body. Knowing that sitting around in pain was only giving me more pain, I started yoga about a month ago. However, because the two videos of exercises I've watched so far, I will be incorporating them into my daily routine. I will be watching all the rest of your videos too. Thank you so much for sharing!!!
